None of the facilities on the property had adequate air conditioning. Food and drink options were limited in selection and time at which they were available. Unfortunately the beach has significantly eroded from recent storms, which makes it difficult to do any snorkeling from the shore. However, the staff were all very kind and accommodating, and the pools were well maintained.

Loved all the wildlife, walkable, not convenient to town, taxis are very expensive to go anywhwre offsite, room had a leak in our bathroom cieling and dirty water dripped into our suitcase of clean clothes. Plenty of bottled water, liquor is very watered down, not a ro do onsite, bea h is severely eroded, no coral for snorkeling. Lots of trade offs. I give ut a 3.5. Food is outstanding but very limited dining options. Gift shop onsite is convenient.

Second time staying at this resort. Not much changed in 11 years. Did add one dinner restaurant where they have the lunch buffet by the ocean which was nice. Great rooms, beach, pool, and bars. Overall the food was good, but it lacked in variety. Found ourselves eating the same things for breakfast and lunch every day. The nightly entertainment was average. It used to be a lot better, but so did a lot of things!

The concierge option was pointless and was used as a gateway to present their timeshare or whatever. Rooms never got cool. It was bearable, but not ideal. We had to keep curtains pulled and door to the bathroom shut. We brought fans and that helped. Restaurants were VERY warm and very difficult to relax and enjoy. Other reviews seemed overly harsh and others too generous. I give it a “meh”. Be warned, this is located a good distance from town. It will cost you a taxi ride coming and going and really added up to be quite substantial. If you’re excited about the all you can drink packages, don’t be. There was very little alcohol in the drinks. I believe the actual bottles of alcohol are HIGHLY diluted to the point of being nearly void of alcohol . I will admit that I am a total lightweight and had a lot to drink and still never felt it.

The property is beautiful and quiet. If you are looking for a more live vibe I would stay closer to the city. The food is not amazing. We rented a scooter most of the days and traveled the whole island I highly recommend that. They will start high with the price but after the first day tell them 50 a day they did it with us just trying to save y’all some money cause it does add up. All in all good experience if your looking for a calm beautiful spot then I would go here if you want a more live experience I would stay in the city and then would rent the scooter and travel the island !

The property was clean and the beach access was nice but the food was terrible and staff was iffy. Some were kind but most were not very helpful or warm. We paid extra for an upgraded check in experience. When we got there, they sent us upstairs and the person who was supposed to check us in wasn’t there. So the bartender sent us down to lunch (a 5 min walk to the opposite end of the resort). When we got back to try and check in again, we were told we were in the wrong spot again and had to go halfway back across the resort to a different place for check in. When it was all said and done, I don’t know what was upgraded about our check in experience at all. It was no different than being at the front desk. The food is not good at all. We thought maybe the specialty restaurant would be better and ate there our last night only for my husband to get food poisoning. We definitely do not recommend this place.

The grounds are pretty and inviting. Rooms are decent and clean. Most of the staff are friendly minus a few that we encountered. The part that will not take us back to stay here is the food. The buffets are the same, everyday. The food is marginal at best, they do a poor job at keeping the buffets stocked and fresh. We had to wait quite sometime or request items that were consistently empty on the buffet. We were frustrated when we checked out as we had emptied our room and told several staff members that stated it was fine to go find our friends, but went back a short time for the pool to say goodbye to friends only to return and be told we would be charged an extra $20 for a late checkout. This was frustrating as several staff members did not communicate this when we told them we were out of the room but visiting with friends. The location is far from town. And there is just too many great options in Cozumel to return to this all inclusive. If only staying for a couple days you may find the occidental a good fit but beyond that, the food menu would get old really fast.

The overall property was nice but limited beach area. Pictures deceiving online. Not much area for sitting on the grounds other than at the pools or beach and limited areas to walk/run(one route from front desk to beach). The adult pool, bar, bartender were fabulous! Room was clean and updated. The staff was friendly, helpful and hardworking.

The property is just beautiful and full of wildlife! Too bad about the beach-but it’s not a deal killer. Plenty of food options-in fact several that we enjoyed. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff is very nice.

Resort itself was beautiful, the food was good, but it was hard to get a reservation at the specialty restaurants, make your reservation when you arrive even if you don't think you want to eat at them, they book up fast. I went to Cozumel for the ocean, everything seemed focused on the hotel. You could swim in the ocean but there was no structure, not many fish, only sand. This wasn't my type of Cozumel vacation. It was very humid, because of the hotel being in the mangroves. We stayed in the Royal part of the hotel.

Had a great week here for vacation. Snorkeled the beach with great visibility, had great food options, and staff was very welcoming. Night club was not exciting since it lacked people but still the DJ would play request and bar was available.

We had a relaxing and fun time which was our plan. Reservations were difficult, even on the royal level. I would also like to see a specialty coffee shop and maybe a pastry/dessert/ice cream shop.
