I can’t say enough about this property . Not only do they go above and belong for you, but they are super kind and sweet . Check-in is a breeze and staff is always willing to help. The location is perfect! It’s on the beach/ hotel zone so it’s in the middle of all of the popular beach club/ restaurants in hotel zonerela and also, it’s only 20 mins from down town so proximity is good. The airport is about 50 mins away ( TQO) but it’s still pretty good. Only downfall is the limited menus/ pricy items on the menu, but that’s standard in the hotel zone ( this area is known for over priced food and drinks, as most of Tulum is) . The grounds 10/10. You don’t have to waste your time and money going to the other beach clubs it’s the same thing but this hotel is better as it has its own Cenote . Free parking is a plus. The room was SPOTLESS and spacious. The pictures do not give it enough credit and the bed is extremely comfortable. I will be staying here again my next time in Tulum.

Steep and absurd hidden fees. I had paid a rate that included breakfast only to find out that “the breakfast service fees” weren’t included in the price I paid. I also reached the hotel to be invoiced a hidden resort fee was forced to pay a leonine deposit of 200 usd per day reserved. The hotel staff are constantly trying to get ahold of your money: they even tried to charge me for changing my breakfast eggs from “scrambled” to “boiled”. The restaurant fees are ridiculous too. They charged me nearly 60 usd for a plate of cauliflower soaked in oil. Customer service is very bad as well and the services offered are deceptive. They for example say that bikes are offered complementarily but never have any. They say that you are entitled to free water bottles per day but delay in giving them to you. Ultimately, while the hotel’s cenote is nice to view, the place is not worth it. You cant even swim in the cenote for a great part of the day (only from 11 am-6 pm) and there is also a loud dj for a part of the afternoon which makes the experience overwhelming. The hotel’s policies are ultimately abusive. Hotel staff treat you like a walking and breathing ATM. We moved over to La Valise (a better and more luxurious hotel) and had a way nicer time.

Diego was awesome and explained everything about the property. We were welcomed with a drink and a cold wet cloth which was much needed after our walk to the hotel. Loved this place and they even have a DJ in the cenote area. Definitely recommend this place.

I have been coming to Tulum for years and this is the best lodging I have discovered. Amazing eco-friendly property. Designed intentionally to channel positive energy from the universe. Tuuch cenote is crystal clear and purifies the soul. Attention to detail and service is unmatched to any of my VIP experiences through Expedia Platinum. Room is spacious and quality AC is available 24/7. Private plunge pool is a serene escape right outside your door, but secluded in nature. Mood lighting and open concept heightened our stay. Yoga classes offered on an energetic platform within the jungle. Wealth of vegetarian options. Must visit stay if you are looking to connect with your soul and unwind in the high vibrations of Tulum. You will feel the positive frequencies as you step foot onto the grounds.

Hotel Shibari was absolutely incredible. Excellent location right in the middle of all the action but quiet on the property and peaceful. Included breakfast is glorious and ample. Cenote on site was lovely, outdoor small pool with swim up bar was fun and great for taking a dip late at night, jacuzzi was big and pleasant. Rooms are clean and spacious. Outdoor seating on private porch so enjoyable for morning coffee. Butler service was exceptionally helpful and the staff in general are totally on it. Spa service was a great set up - maybe not the most amazing massage I have ever gotten but they create a whole experience and think of all the details which was lovely. Yoga was excellent. I suppose if it’s important to you to be able to roll out of bed and go to the beach then you would want a beachside hotel (this is jungle side) but we were perfectly happy with utilizing the free access to the partner beach clubs and lounging at the cenote on off hours. In some ways it was nice to have access to multiple beach clubs because we got yo try a few free of charge with no minimum spend. Food in Tulum is crazy expensive heads up, this hotel was usual pricing for the area and quality was great.

This place was amazingly beautiful. The staff was extremely accommodating, generous, friendly, and attentive. The property was immaculate. The cenote was spectacular, crystal clear, perfectly located, and had a live DJ on a daily basis. (not too loud and helped create the perfect ambiance) The room was very chic and had everything you need. First time in Tulum and Hotel Shibari did not disappoint!! It’s a private, quiet hotel perfect for couples. The rooms are huge and ours had its own private hot tub. The highlight is the beautiful cenote that you can relax at in day beds or at the restaurant. It’s walking distance to all the beach clubs and great restaurants. The service was exceptional from check in to check out. 10/10 Highly recommend Hotel Shibari

This is a very well-run hotel and one of the nicest in the Tulum hotel-district. The prices are reasonable and the staff is attentive and helpful. The cenote and surrounding deck are very attractive and relaxing and you will be very well looked after. The two less attractive aspects of this establishment for us were the limited menu at the main restaurant (seriously, there are only four or five decent dishes) and the incessant rave style music played a DJ 18 hours a day. Seriously, it is akin to water torture and disturbs what is otherwise a lovely peaceful area. One other detail worth noting is the difficulty getting in and out of the "hotel/beach area". Taxis there notoriously charge $50-60 each way just to take you to and from the hotels area to the "downtown" shopping area- which is only about 4.5 miles away. Also, stores and restaurants near the hotel charge a premium for modest/average merchandise and service because... once you are there in the hotel area you are literally a captive audience - not the fault of the hotel, of course. We stayed here for our babymoon (I am 6 months pregnant). This hotel is gorgeous! The landscaping is lush and beautiful. The service is excellent. The butlers /concierges were so helpful and attentive. The cenote is incredible. They have a DJ almost every day and although I saw some reviews complain about this--I thought the volume and music selections were still relaxing but vibey. I enjoyed laying out there with a book in the sun. The rooms were beautiful and have everything you could ever want. The Atta restaurant onsite is really nice with excellent service, although pricey--the food was fresh and delicious. The menu could use some more simple options (I was craving tacos or just standard Mexican fare). Because of the limited menu we had to venture outside of the resort for other dining options which were incredibly expensive (think downtown Chicago or New York). I was disappointed in the Tulum area (the hotel zone), it was dirty, smelled like sewage and was not walkable (no sidewalks or paths) so you're hoping not to get clipped by a car. Nothing to offer during the day outside of an expensive beach club (no other direct access to the beach) or dance clubs at night (which again babymoon). Overall I loved Hotel Shibari and their incredible staff but the Tulum Hotel Zone was just not nice enough for the cost of everything.

Really nice room, staff were great. We asked to change room because of the late night noise of the beach clubs, it was a lot less noisy towards the rear of the hotel bungalows. Cenote was amazing to have as a backdrop, and look at every night before bed.

I’ve never given a hotel review but this place deserves one! 10/10 recommend Hotel Shibari. The food, the room, the service, the amenities, the landscaping, the access to 3 beach clubs, the beautiful cenote!!!! Honestly a dream! Even though it doesn’t have direct access to the beach, it’s partnered with 3 beach clubs for free access which gives you opportunity to see different areas of the beach. So fun, we loved every second.
