Extremely Overrated & Uncomfortable — Truly Disappointed
To say this place is severely overpriced would be a serious understatement. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Azulik prioritizes aesthetic over comfort or functionality.
There are no lights in the room, only tiny candles, which makes doing anything after sunset nearly impossible. I stubbed my toe almost every night on a bench next to the bed because I couldn’t see — it was downright dangerous.
The shower is barely functional, and their idea of an A/C unit is the weakest excuse I’ve ever seen — not nearly enough to make the room remotely comfortable in the Tulum heat.
I was relaxing on the daybed outside when the branches it was hanging from snapped and hit me in the head. I brought it to the attention of the front desk staff, who said they’d speak to a manager. I never heard anything about it again — no follow-up, no solution, just silence.
We also requested help with our bags at checkout because our room was extremely far from reception — requiring us to go up and down stairs, through sand, and across their narrow bamboo walkways. No one ever showed up, and we had to carry all our things ourselves. Even the guy at the front admitted, “Didn’t you ask for help?” Yes, we did. Still, no help came.
To top it off, I realized at checkout that the blue medical pillow I brought for flying was missing — something I had with me when I checked in. Staff said they didn’t have it and offered no real effort to help.
