This beautiful riverside cottage combines village warmth, coastal ease with a very relaxing rare riverfront setting. Sleeping up to six guests, the property includes two double bedrooms in the main cottage and one outside double bedroom, there is also a private riverside room with a comfortable sofa bed. It is ideal for families and groups of friends.
The cottage is warm with a relaxed homely woodfire and heat pump to keep you cosy on those cooler days. The decks provide multiple entertaining and dining options. The riverside deck allowing glorious views over the river and across to the iconic cliffs of Cape Kidnappers. A private wharf to launch the dinghy and kayak ready to explore the river.
A short 2 minute walk to the local surf break, lagoon and fishing spots, 2 minute walk to coffee around the corner at “Basic Needs” a leisurely 15-20 minute walk to Hygge Café Clifton and a 15-minute walk to Clearview Estate Winery for wine tasting and lunch. Local artists welcome you to visit their studios and are regular venues on the HB Art Trail. Bike hire round the corner with cycling tracks abundant in the area. There is plenty to keep you occupied.
The cedar hot tub is beautifully placed in a private spot on the river’s edge, looking out toward Cape Kidnappers one of the area’s defining attractions. Soak those weary muscles in the hot tub after surfing, running, cycling or just doing nothing and watch the abundance of bird life or gaze at the stars and count the satellites pass above to complete your day.
This is a setting which provides oodles of atmosphere.
Despite feeling wonderfully tucked away, you are still only around 15 minutes drive from Havelock North and about 20 minutes from Napier and Hastings, making this an easy escape with the feel of a much bigger getaway.
