Very Disappointed at condition of property, its location, and renter
I booked this property approximately 9 months in advance. My cousin was getting married and I needed a place to host a small gathering after the wedding. The renter was understanding at first. He made me feel comfortable by telling me that he worked for the same company as I did, which I later found out was a lie. I put my guard down and fully trusted him. Upon arriving to the place, I, along with my family members, were in complete shock of its location. It is adjacent to a trailer park, and near other run down properties. It is also within a very short distance of active railroad tracks where you will hear and see trains passing by. Upon walking into the main house, we observed two large hairballs on a very dusty and dirty pool table on the main floor. I then found cigar and cigarette buds, cigarette ashes, a filthy outdoor kitchen in a dirty and dusty lanai. I proceeded to check the guest house and found two dead cockroaches near the refrigerator and under the dining room table. I called the renter and complained about the uncleanness of the property. I was very disappointed because of the effort that went into planning a get-together only to find out the place was adjacent to a trailer park and abandoned building. The renter came to see the condition for himself and repeatedly blamed his cleaning crew. He refused to issue any refund or waive the cleaning fee. He claimed that he needed to speak to his parents, who, according to him, were the owners, and needed a few days to reach them because they were in India. When I booked this property, I dealt directly with him alone, and not his parents. I felt that it was a convenient way for him to avoid dealing with the situation and simply blame his parents who were in India at the time. To be fair, the rooms and bathrooms were clean. The house has many beds and can accommodate large gatherings, but for the price that you're paying, it is nothing more than a ripoff. He was very unpleasant when he came to see the condition of the house, and kept smiling, while we were dealing with this nightmare. I would caution anyone considering this property to see it before making your decision. Please go visit it or send someone to see it beforehand.
