Very close behind the villa is a hotel; the balconies overlook the back garden of the villa. We knew there was a hotel near this location; but we were not prepared for the proximity of the hotel or a hotel that specialises in "all inclusive family holidays".
Unfortunately, we found the noise from residents on the balconies smoking and drinking late at night; as well as the organized children's games /activities around the swimming pool during the day, and the amplified evening music/entertainment until 11pm to be intrusive.
We holiday in mid-September so we are outside of school holidays to have a quieter holiday; so our experience was totally unexpected. A warning that there is some noise and amplified music from the nearby hotel should have been on the listing. This would have prepared us for a different type of holiday to the one that we were expecting. The proximity of the hotel would not be problem for many, but had we known we would not have chosen this villa.
This is a real shame as the owners have made an enormous effort to ensure that guests feel welcome. The villa is very well equipped and we really appreciated the welcome pack and the facilities in their very comfortable, clean and well furnished villa.
So overall, the villa itself is lovely, the owners were really accessible and very helpful throughout our stay; and we really enjoyed the shady veranda for reading and board games, and it is a very short walk to the Pine Walk and the sea. It was the most comfortable villa we have stayed in at Puerto Pollenca; and is ideal for families with school age children, but not quite right for our adult group seeking peace and quiet.
