The hotel is located a long long taxi ride south of Nanjing city center. It is south of the city, past the airport. Taxi out to the hotel from the Shanghai train station cost about 200rmb and was 40km. From the airport, where there is a connection to the subway/metro line which you can use to travel around nanjing cheaply, it was about a 80rmb taxi ride, probably about 10 or 15km.
The hotel itself looks like it used to have lots of cool features which are now turned off or are in disrepair, such as fancy exterior lawn art, sculptures, pools, etc. It doesnt take away from the hotel, but it appears that it was much fancier in the past.
The staff was the best part about this hotel. Lingding was the nicest and most helpful person we met in China and she was the best hotel employee we met on our entire trip. We arrived at the hotel at midnight by taxi, with a 'guaranteed reservation' from hotels.com only to discover there was no reservation and the hotel was sold out. We were very frustrated. Lingding was instrumental in helping us and getting us a place to stay, she also provided us with some food, and some help. We truly appreciate the help she provided and we would recommend this hotel because of her.
Overall, the rooms there were nice, clean, larger than most. The hotel was pretty fancy, breakfast was good, wifi was good, staff was good. The location is remote, but it would be a great hotel if you were flying in or out of the airport in nanjing.
