I'd stay away

The spookiest hotel experience ever.. Hotel is located in some ghost-townish neighborhood, inside of locked iron gate.. we thought we're being abducted and never see the sun. Well, that didn't happen but it felt like it. Room was not clean, you can hear everything being said in the lobby all night long.. spooky. They charge $10 each way for airport pick up.

De acuerdo a lo planeado. Solo para pasar noche, y viajar temprano al dia siguiente, para el Cusco. El encargado de los traslados, siempre estuvo a tiempo, y ayuda mucho que se encuentra muy cerca del aeropuerto.

Convenient location close to the airport

We stayed in this hostel overnight before leaving for Cusco early the next morning. The hostel staff were amazing, from the taxi drivers who picked us up, to the concierge who helped us store our surfboards and gear at the hostel free for a week, and the taxi driver who dropped our boards off to us at the airport. Overall, we were so impressed with the service they offered at this very basic hostel.

Good place, low fare

Very good, absolutely clean, good shower with hotwater, several restaurants in that area, nice people. Could only improve internet. Excellent place nearby International Airport. Taxi took me there for 10 dollars. I recommend. Alex Gutenberg. r

Comfortable and close to airport

I booked the room for my son and his friend as they are travelling and had a late arrival into Lima and midday flight out again Their comments were that the hostal provided very good service. The staff were friendly. Nice room. Good wi-fi. Pick up-service from airport reliable.

Reasonable hostales closeish to airport

Was well met on arrival by pleasant English speaking night staff at 00.30. Whole hotel was in need of refurbishment with the carpets worn. However it was clean and, most importantly, I had a comfortable bed with clean sheets in a quiet room. Typical Peruvian breakfast was adequate but was not served until 07.30, too late if one had an early flight. One tip always use the taxi service arranged by the hostales as , not only is it cheaper than the airport cabs, but the local taxi drivers have no idea where the hostales is! Overall this is a good choice for one night following a late flight or preceding an early one.

Great Service

I stayed here for two nights and the staff and service was excellent. Our taxi shuttle to and from the airport was always on time and our driver was friendly. Unfortunately, as many other reviewers have noted, Hostel Victor is not in a very pretty neighborhood. That being said, it´s the perfect spot to stay if you have a long layover at LIM and just need a good nights rest. The showers have great pressure in them as well!

basic/cheap overnight stay before destination

staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The water went out while we were there but the staff allowed us to delay our checkout time until showers were available. WIFI was unavailable in our room but worked downstairs in the lobby or in the hall way (staff said a router was down and they were working on the problem). Room was clean and location was within walking distance to the bus station and mall. Breakfast was bread, jam, coffee, and hard boiled eggs.

Other hostels more worth it

Room was very mediocre for the price paid, and very out of the way- taxis had no idea where it was. Toilet in my room was broken for my entire 3 day stay and although I continuously asked for assistance in getting it fixed, they never helped out. There are other hostels in the area for the same price and much better conditions.

Just okay

The Hostal Victor is billed as close to the airport which was its attraction due to an early flight out the next morning. But it's not really close- maybe a 40 minute ride. They DID arrange for transport from the airport for our arrival. But once there, we learned of no air conditioning, hot water took forever, dogs barked and roosters crowed nearby all night. Also we felt it wasn't very clean. Staff IS pleasant enough. It will do if you aren't too demanding in creature (not to include dogs and roosters) comforts.

No bad surprise. Excellent for spending a night or two between 2 flights if you gare not expecting a 5* hôtel. Péruviàn people are nice and staff very helpfull.

Perfect overnight cheap accommodation

This hotel was very easy to communicate with. We had a late flight and early departure so were in need of a place to stay to close our eyes for a few hours only. Our flight arrived early so our transfers happily came early. The room was clean, sheets were crisp and there was hot water. This can in no way be compared to a 5 star hotel, nor is it in a great area. It is perfect however if you need reliable and cheap accommodation to and from the airport.

Fine for 1 night from airport

We were picked up on time and the hostel was clean and sheets were white and fresh. Shower and bathroom very clean. However neighborhood not so good with lots of street noise like dogfights, chickens etc. driver back to airport was prompt and courteous. All in all a fine cheap stay!

Not located in safe area of town

The staff was friendly, the room looked clean, but the bathroom sink had a leak and 1 small towel. Also, the hall light shone through the window above the door to the room, which was not turned off until about 1:30am. Our intention was to stay only around 9 hours and leave early the next morning to Cusco. Hotel at airport was booked so I looked for next closest lodging that looked fairly descent. When we arrived around 10p, we noticed that the hostal is located in a port area that was not looking very safe. Our suspicions were confirmed when we saw this 20' iron gate in front of the street leading to the ally where the hostel was located. So I guess that was our protection from I don’t know what. One day before our trip to Peru, we had to change our plans and needed to stay an extra day in Lima, so I called the hostal to extend our stay without knowing what we were getting ourselves into. First thing the following morning, I was on internet and booked another hotel inside the city, could not stay two nights there.

One night on the way to Cusco

We stayed at Hostal Victor for one night on our way to Cusco. We arrived late in the evening and were leaving early next morning, so it didn't make sense to go far from the airport. Hostal Victor was a good choice for our needs. The hotel arranged to have us picked up at the airport and then drive us back the next morning - very convenient. The room was very basic but that's to be expected for the price. All in all we were satisfied, for one night.

Hotel, close to the airport. The staff is very kind. I want to be clear that it is a basic hotel but has everything you need for staying overnight at a good price .

we picked this hotel to spend a night between two flights. The room was ok and had a TV and they picked us up at the airport which is good because the airport is not in a nice area.

Watch costs on van service

Drivers were nice and prompt. Hotel was acceptable for such a short night. We thought the van service was included in the hotel cost, when emailed the hotel to give them our flight info they quoted us $24. Later we discovered that some people pay much less.

15 minutes from airport.

Hostal Victor was a convenient option for our overnight stay. My wife and I had to catch a flight early in the morning and Andy had a driver to pick us up at the airport and bring us back. The room and bathroom was clean. Andy was very helpful in answering questions concerning currency. The neighborhood is not probably the place for an evening stroll but Hostal Victor is great for a an overnight stay while waiting for a connecting flight.I would give it 4 1/2 stars.
