I stayed at Jacques’s home for a little over 3 weeks in November, and am so glad I glad did. I’ve stayed at many hotels and rentals in Coronado over the years, but this has been my favorite stay. I’ve been working remote due to covid and wanted a break from my home office in Arizona. My only requirements were 1. dog-friendly 2. A space to host my family for Thanksgiving.
All pet owners know how hard it is to find a place, but this house wasn’t only pet friendly, but pet preferred. Monkey LOVED the fenced yard and being able to have a space to play outside during our stay instead of being cooped up in a room. The house is located on the north side of the island - only a 5 minute walk to both Coronado Brewing and Smart & Final and less than an 8 minute walk to the ferry landing. I had no issues finding parking my entire stay, even when returning later at night. The Hotel Del is less than a 30 minute walk, but if you don’t want to walk that far, it’s only a 5 minute drive down Orange. The house is completely upgraded throughout with stainless steel appliances, a gorgeous kitchen island, no carpet (a plus for those of us with allergies), and newly tiled bathroom showers. It’s also fully stocked with linens, dinnerware, cutlery, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, extra toilet paper (a novelty in 2020), and more so you don’t have to worry about bringing your own supplies. Did I mention a dishwasher, washer/dryer, and AC? Serious luxury for Coronado homes. There is self check in so you don’t need to coordinate your arrival with the host, however, Jacques is very responsive and available for any questions or requests. I had mentioned I couldn’t find a hairdryer (which wasn’t a huge deal for me) and he had two delivered to the house immediately. On Thanksgiving he showed up at the house with a bottle of wine for me and my family which was such a personal touch. I’ve never had such an attentive host!! Although my family (3 adults) only stayed for 5 days, they loved the house as well and enjoyed having their own rooms and plenty of space. The master bedroom has a walk in closet, plus two large IKEA closets in the room which allowed me to put away my clothes and jewelry and not live out of a suitcase for weeks. I work as a BI analyst for a global company, so internet reliability was also important during my stay, which I had no issues with. Whether for vacation or business, Jacques’s home is the perfect place to escape.
