The hotel is in good condition. The beach is cleaned of seaweed every morning and is then perfect. The meals at all inclusive are relatively good. After breakfast a waiter came to my room later and asked if that was $20, because I wrote 20 Pesos because of mad service (I had only 1 Cappucino, but it was forgotton 2 times). Very pushy and annoying. I felt it wasn't enough for him, but bad service, bad tip. The next day a drink was forgotten and a drink brought wrong. I gave another 20 pesos tip (about 1 euro). This time an head waiter came to the room later to ask if that was $20. Pushy and outrageous. I like to tip if good service is provided, such as the waiters do, despite long distances and extreme temperatures. I extended my suite by one night. I was told that I have to change rooms and check in again in the afternoon. No problem, I was at the beach. At 4pm I go to check in, wait 30 minutes, then I am told my room is not ready. At 6.15pm the room was ready but the luggage had disappeared but was supposed to be brought immediately. I waited 30 minutes and called the concierge who said the luggage was on its way. After another 15 minutes I went to the reception and was told that the luggage was already on its way. I then insisted that I carry the luggage to my suite myself, as I finally wanted to change my wet bathing suit. As it turned out, they forgot to deliver my luggage 3 times. It only worked when I became resolute. Very unprofessional service. The Spa is very good

I’ve been to a lot of different all inclusives. This one has potential to be great but is managed poorly. What sets this resort apart in a negative way (and it’s a huge issue) is that even with all inclusive you have to give your room key to the bartender, waiter, etc and they hold onto it with terrible service so it takes forever to get your zero dollar check and closeout so you can get your room key back. I’ve never had to deal with this at any other all inclusive and it is a huge headache (I’ve been to close to a dozen so I’m not new). The breakfast buffet always has a huge line and it’s hard to leave because you have to wait for the server to get your card and bring it back to you so you can see your zero balance. Any food or drink requires this effort and it’s super annoying. You should be able to go to any bar and grab a beer or drink without giving away your room key for the next hour due to their slow service. I went to their store and bought a six pack of tecate light (not included in all inclusive btw) and just brought it to the pool myself because the room key issue was terrible. Also, the gym doesn’t have a locker room you can use. The front desk person says to use the one toilet room that shares a sink with the women’s one toilet room (both very open as soon as you walk out). I didn’t have access to a “locker room” because that’s taken over by people using the spa.

Our stay in May was relaxing and very enjoyable. We had the best staff from housekeeping( Maricela), Alfonso and Cuatemoc, Wilfredo, Jorge, Jose, Fer, Cesar, David, and Rodrigo. The place was safe, clean, and it provided many activities. You can’t go wrong with Royal Sands all inclusive. It’s 39 minutes away from the airport, it has different food options. We enjoyed the cheeseburgers from the pool side. The entertainment was fun. We enjoyed every aspect of Royal Sands!

We stayed for four nights and from the time we arrived we were taken care of. We are first timers in Cancun and didn’t know what to expect. The staff was great especially our concierge that helped us the whole time , Andre. He was always on it with our dinner reservations, to recommendations, excursions and spa reservations. He took very good care of us the whole time even after he left work. The food options were great and you can’t go wrong being all inclusive. The rooms were very clean and the beach front option well worth it. Opt for a king if your a couple because we got a double and bed was too small for both of us. The easy access to use our room card on the resort was helpful and we didnt need to carry anything with us. They have a Starbucks on site inside a mini grocery in case you need snacks or medicines etc.. They can help you with booking excursions and get you a great price but to get it you need to go through a 90 min timeshare presentation. In the end we did it to save money , it was impressive but not worth it for us personally since we like change. We also got a discount on the spa out of it as well. So nothing lost except 90 minutes. The pool was perfect and there is a swim up bar to have drinks. All the staff on the property were so nice and you can see how hard they all work to make every person comfortable and have a great experience. They were always on it to accommodate us. You never not see them doing something. Highly recommended.

Staff was very nice & helpful! I also liked that There is alot of fun activities you can do at the hotel ( karaoke,volleyball , loteria , bingo at the pool etc.) There’s a couple restuaunts as well, the food is OK. I felt safe & comfortable at this hotel. Rooms were pretty clean didn’t have any problem with that. Definitely recommend making reservations if you plan on coming in the summer.

This was our first visit to Royal Sands. It was amazing. Really loved it. Here’s my Cole’s notes: - check in was so slow, and we were exhausted from a crazy early flight. It took over 90 minutes to check in and we were so cranky! Terrible first impression and we were so worried! -after the check in, everything else was amazing! -food was great, exactly on par for a 4 star resort -as expected, a few dinner spots were reservation only, and they were all great. Buffet was also really nice, lots of authentic options and lots to keep my picky kids fed. -service was exceptional. We did the regular all inclusive with no perks, and we were treated extremely well. -we felt safe at the pools and on the beach, even when leaving our pool bags while grabbing lunch. -never an issue finding a pool seat, even when waking at 8 or 9 am -room was amazing! Double Murphy bed, king size. It was better than many city condos! -there was surcharge for many food and drink options but we didn’t feel obligated to use them, we stayed very basic, no extra charges and felt comfortable asking or clarifying which items were included. - our kids, 6 and 7 had a great time in the kid pool. And other patrons were family forward, even if they didn’t have kids. -pool bar opened at 11am, which was totally fine with us! Closed at 8ish, but at that time the pool was empty anyway. The sports bar was open late. Highly recommend. Perfect 4 star family all inclusive.

We had dead cockroaches in our rooms. All of the floors are so slippery. The staff was wicked aggressive with upselling , trying to get us to sit in the time share schpeel. Lied to us about the adventure we were planning to attempt. You have to give your room key to every staff member for meals, which means you have to sit and wait for forever to get your “tab” and sign for a zero dollar receipt. You have a very limited “all inclusive” menu as well

This is one of the worst hotel I’ve been in Cancun and to be honest to pay $600 per night for a hotel that has dirty rooms, room service wakes you up at 9 o’clock knocking on your door, as well. This hotel has no shower gel and they use soap like in 1975.. they give you one small bottle of shampoo for two people for the whole four days. I had to ask for two more as it was impossible to wash yourself with one small bottle of shampoo. Who is using soap bars in 2024? I’ve stayed at Royalton, Ritz Carlton (Keminsky), and their prices are under this hotel, and the service was amazing. Here the service is a total mess. We will definitely never come back here. When we arrived in the front of our door was a coffee pot and the mug that stayed for three days over there, left by the previous client. Nobody picked it up for three days. .

This resort is a timeshare and right ay check in I was being pushed to attend a timeshare. Reservations for the restaurants were hard to get and there is an upcharge at all the restaurants for specific items. I didn't like that we had to give our room key at evry bar and restaurant when it is supposed to all inclusive. Some of the staff were not welcoming especially those at the pool bar.

There have been many changes with new management since July 2023 and NONE of the changes have been to the benefit of the patrons booking the all inclusive packages. They are putting in a ton of money for a water park and there has been a loss of restaurant options so during the transition phase of other new steakhouse and Asian restaurants opening up next year the current all inclusive package deal pales in comparison to what other resorts are offering.

The Royal Sands was the perfect medium sized all inclusive. Super clean, good food and the rooms are huge! As you may or may not know the ocean in the hotel zone is pretty rough, but being that Royal Sands has sister resorts, we were able to take free shuttles to Royal Cancun where the water is much calmer for my 6 year old. Overall great stay and the only minor downside I would say is the constant timeshare meeting pitches. However, with that said if I was interested in a timeshare I would definitely get one here. Nacho my man, I'll do it next time I promise lol

I have stayed at this property for the last three years and it seems to be going downhill. From service (mainly concierge being unfriendly), feeling like you are second class if you are not a member or owner, the cleanliness has gotten worse, and they have limited dining compared to what they used to. The food is not that good anymore, especially the room service and limited dining.

The resort was clean, the pool was clean, food was pretty good most of the time despite alot of buffets. I was not a fan of the surcharge on food and alcohol at all. If its an all inclusive hotel then it should be just that- Too many extra costs. I really did not like that I had to give my room key and sign a reciept for everything even with no extra purchase. This really slowed service. MOST of the staff seemed to not like their job, not real friendly compared to other resorts. The cashless resort was a surprise. I had plenty of cash to spend but chose to be more conservative with the credit card purchases. I had to beg for coffee despite the fact that the room had a coffee maker. Most 4 star resorts provide in room coffee. The mini bar fridge was only stocked with 2 beers. They could really go a long way with a few adjustments but this resort overall was mediocre in my experience.

I did not like the very long waiting time of service. Also, the toilet got clogged several times over the week. Long lines in the Restaurants. I liked the ocean, pool, clean rooms, tasty food, activities, and convenient transportation.

I think the worse part is not to many opcio on restaurants and the buffet,propierie is good but they still have many things that need to improve especial in the service compare to other Hotels for me is not a 41/2 srtars is more a 3 starts

I love this property! It is very clean and the staff is wonderful! The food is pretty good, but I would like more options. The bed was not very comfortable this time, it was too hard and springy feeling. I have stayed here a couple of times and overall I am very pleased.
