Eclectic upstairs apartment in old building on quiet street close to downtown
My wife and I stayed three nights in the clean, nicely appointed and updated, upstairs, "B", apartment, while our friends stayed in the downstairs, "A" apartment. Easy to find on a quiet street off U.S. 1 very close to downtown Rockland and the ferry to Vinalhaven Island, with close access to the 4,300 foot-long granite block breakwater along which one can walk the entire distance to the de-commissioned light house. Master bedroom has a comfortable Tempur-Pedic mattress and the well-appointed, sunny kitchen has a view of the harbor. The living room has two couches; one having a hide-a-bed. The stairs leading to the upstairs apartment, "B", where we stayed are steep. They did not present a problem for us, however, those having difficulties climbing stairs will want to choose the downstairs, "A", apartment. The property is very affordably priced and provides excellent value. The hosts were readily available. We recommend and would stay here, again.
