No communication. Bad smell. Hard to find.
We got the instructions of how to get to the apartment. They only do online check-in & do not meet you to show you where it is. I flew into the Venice airport & showed the instructions to the person at the boat ferry. They gave us a ticket & we were dropped off at the wrong spot due to the instructions weren't clear to the locals. We were dropped off on the wrong island! It was too late for a ticket to the main island but someone at the boat dock took pity on myself & my friend & gave us their pass to get back on the ferry. We showed the instructions to the smaller ferry boat that picked us up & they brought us to the dock that was on the instructions. We wondered around for 2 1/2 hrs trying to find the apartment based on the instructions given on pdf from the apartment owners. I showed the instructions to 4-5 locals & they all said that the instructions were unclear. They all sent us in different directions stating they were only guessing since the instructions were bad. We finally found the door to the apartment area in the dark using our phones as flashlights. Code was put in & the door to the actual building was around the corner..no lights to get there. All in the dark. We finally get in & it is musty smelling, lights went off 1/2 way up the stairs which had us carrying our suitcases up the stairs in the dark. Very dangerous! Apartment had squished bugs all over the walls. The entire time of 2 1/2 hrs I was calling the apartment owner & messaging and they never replied!
