If you’re thinking about booking Secrets Riviera Cancun don’t. This place is a complete disappointment and nowhere near the luxury it claims to be.
We went for a 40th birthday during spring break and it felt like a total waste of money. The swim up suites are small underwhelming and absolutely not worth the price. You’re paying premium rates for a very average experience.
The service was awful. We spent hours waiting for dinner especially at the Asian restaurant and the buffet had barely any options. The food was bland and forgettable and the drinks were weak and inconsistent. Nothing about it felt high end.
The only thing that saved the trip even slightly was access to the Breathless side which at least had some nightlife and better restaurant options.
The most disturbing part was the complete lack of respect for privacy. Staff had printed out photos of my husband’s and my passports without telling us. When we questioned it no one could give a straight answer. Eventually we were told it was because of an “alarm” in our room yet we were never notified of any issue. The entire situation felt invasive unsettling and completely inappropriate and it made us uncomfortable for the rest of the stay.
I have had far better service food and overall experiences at resorts that cost a fraction of this one. This place is overpriced poorly managed and not worth it in any way.
Save your money and go literally anywhere else.
