The location is second to none. It is right at the heart of Munich. Doesn't't get much better than this.
The staff was friendly and highly attentive, though it seemed the hotel had opted to run on a scaled down staffing concept. That obviously was caused by the pandemic situation and is understandable.
What we didn't like was the cleanliness of the hotel.
We stayed in a junior suite. The surfaces in our room were sticky when we moved in. The bathroom was smelly.
The third bed was a very simple folding bed with a mattress that was dirty and stained, which became visible when we removed the bed sheet.
There was hardly anything in the room that can be called luxury.
The minibar was empty (due to corona - understandable). We had to collect our bottle of water from the bar on the way up - though the bar was obviously working on a reduced selection as well.
The room didn't hold any glasses - not even in the bathroom. Glasses had to be collected at the bar for sanitary reasons - why is the bar cleaner than what the room service can provide?
The bathroom didn't offer anything but shower gel and shampoo.
Overall and by comparison, we had expected more from a 4 star hotel, even when considering the restrictions due to the pandemic.
