„This is the perfect place for an authentic Japanese experience. The staff are wonderful and the meals are superb. Tranquil surroundings with a 5 star multi-course meals each day for breakfast and dinner. The sauna and hot baths were great for winding down after a day of touring. Touring was easy because bus lines and train lines are nearby. We were sorry to leave the Tea House and really hope to return some day. “

„I loved everything about the Moksa Hotel! The accommodation is a bit out of the way, but still easy to reach by subway and bus. The hotel is located at the foot of a mountain with a forest and a river, and is very quiet! The staff was great, the rooms were stunningly beautiful, and the spa, which you could book as an additional option, was a dream. The garden is definitely the highlight. Drinks at the bar and in the room are free. If you don't want to book dinner, you can also order delivery. ...

„Klassisches hochwertiges Hotel alter Schule. Etwas älter aber sehr gut gepflegt mit hochwertiger Einrichtung. Etwas außerhalb aber sehr gut per U-Bahn zu erreichen. Kann ich wärmstens empfehlen!“

„The owner was very lovely and polite, he prep matcha tea for welcoming us also offering fresh bread making in the morning for our breakfast but my family were very tired from a long day travelling and activities we did in the area, we just want to sleep in so we had to miss out on that. House was clean. The bath was the highlight for us. Just the tap in both toilets a bit hard to operate so we had to wash our hands in the bathroom instead.“

„Brilliant location and close to the top spots we went to see. Quiet neighborhood by the river. Suite was large and luxurious. Lovely bouquet, complimentary wine, and confectionary on arrival. The kitchen was well equipped, with a microwave too. Washer dryer in Japanese language, but staff helped us. Easy! Concierge services were also exceptional. Excellent Michelin star restaurant reservation on the same day.“

„It´s a traditional Japanese Guesthouse. If you like such an experience it´s a great place to stay with a lovely local surrounding (shops, restuarants...). Shower / WC are shared. At night you should come back around 23:00 - so if you like to go out late at night you might need to look for another place.“

„The hotel it's small but super clean and well done. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom huge. The only thing is that is on a quiet neighborhood so it's like 20 minute walk to the canal and Nishiki market but still centric enough. Also, the futon sounds like a good idea until the second night and your hips are dying...just saying. It's not as easy as you think if you are 35 or older...“

„Super location and quiet room with real Japanese style bed on floor. Practical for trips into town or further since bus stops are right beside the building. Locally within walking distance there are ramen restaurants also temples and the Philosophers path. Suited me perfectly as I don't spend much time in hotel I like to be out taking photos. If I visit Kyoto again I would love to stay here again.“

„Eine schöne, saubere und praktische Unterkunft. Wir hatten leider ein Zimmer direkt neben der Dusche. Da es vpm Management erlaubt ist von 6-24 Uhr zu duschen war es entsprechend laut zu Schlafenszeiten. Ansosnten aber eine schöne Unterkunft, welche auch Fahrräder vermietet.“
