Summary:
Awesome third floor ocean front unit, with a rare corner/end location near the pool. Maximum occupancy strictly enforced in accordance with local ordinances.

The Space:
Sit back and relax on your own private ocean front lanai and take in some of the best views on the Kona Coast. 2 bedrooms 2 full baths, one king bed, 1 queen are included in this spacious condo that boasts ocean views from every room. Central A/C, Sony TV, DVD, wireless internet available and a well appointed kitchen are just a few of the wonderful amenities guests will enjoy.

Added bonus of a Sound Bar which, when turned on, enhances the TV sound and can also be used for the CD/DVD player, it has a blue tooth input which guests can use to play their bluetooth devices (iPhone, iPad, computer, etc.) The unit is also stocked with beach items for your enjoyment. The Kona Reef is conveniently situated right next to Honl's Beach, which was where the first Boogie Board was tried out by Tom Morey, the inventer, in 1971, and within walking distance to town where guest will find dining, shopping and site seeing! Ease of check-in and added security as well for this unit! Go directly to the property with your own secure pass code.

We provide 2 beach chairs and 1 cooler for guest use.

• For stays extending 30 nights or more, a security deposit and utility fee will be required. The security deposit ensures the protection of the property during your stay, while the utility fee covers essential services such as electricity and any damages that are caused by guests.
• Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the property, on the premises, and in any nearby common areas. Violations will result in an automatic $500 fine, plus any additional costs for carpet and upholstery cleaning or other damages caused.
These terms help us maintain the quality and comfort of our vacation rentals for all guests.

Boom it!Stunning! Walking in you are immediately greeted by the sight and sound of ocean. A couple previous reviews state that the condo is dirty and dated. It appears this unit may have had some renovations since. There is tile throughout and recently remodeled master bath. It was very clean and well stocked. Comfortable beds and linens The air conditioner kept it very cool and comfortable. The pool, hot tub and BBQ area are kept in excellent condition. This place takes pride in ownership. The folding beach chairs and towels came in handy for our visits to the little sand beach right next door. Easy walk to shops, dinner and market. Customer service was quick to respond to any questions via email, text and phone. I would stay again!

Views, Views, Views!

Overall, we had a great time at our stay in Kona and at the Kona Reef. The views from the lanai were amazing and the location to downtown was on point. We could hear the waves crashing from our bedroom, which was fantastic! I will say the complex is a bit tired looking, and the elevators were out for the whole time that we were there which made it difficult to go up flights of stairs with luggage. That is not this Condo‘s fault though.That said, we would definitely stay here again. The condo and pool were very nice and had everything that we could possibly need for a great stay in Kona. They even had umbrellas and some beach chairs for us to use along with a cooler. This made for easy beach days. The management company was very communicative and easy to work with as well. Thanks for contributing to a wonderful vacation!

The view is amazing

We loved our time at Kona Reef, the view was amazing and we enjoyed watching whales, dolphins and turtles from the lanai! The unit was stocked with everything we needed. It was a perfect unit for 2 couples traveling together. Can’t wait to come again!

Location is excellent, can walk to village.Upon arrival, we were surprised there was not a welcome basket of some nature. This however was outweighed when we were delightfully surprised that there was more than the usual 4-5days supply of dishwashing soap, laundry soap, bath room supplies. This was MOST appreciated.We saw whales, dolphins almost every d a y from our lanai and on the last day a turtle came by to say goodbye to us.The only downside was the ensuite sink was plugged. I phoned to advise the R&M people and they said they would try and find a plumber to come (in a week). We pulled hair out of the drain daily to try and help it drain.Also, there was only one bbq but this was being dealt with and through no fault of the owners was not resolved quickly. The owners finally just went out and bought two. I We booked again for next year.

We enjoyed being within walking distance of many restaurants and shops in downtown Kailua-Kona. And the view from our balcony was a perfect way to start the day with coffee and enjoy the sunset in the evenings.

Beautiful location, but needs renovation

We loved the location and the view. Spectacular view over looking the ocean. For the price that we paid ($4K for only 1 week!) we were surprised by the poor quality of the interior. The carpet was a mess, appliances rusty, dozens of small holes in the kitchen floor tile, sink completely plugged up in the master bathroom, the patio lock didn't work right and locked us out of the condo, and, there was no way back inside. The place really needs to be renovated and upgraded. Also, I specifically booked this condo because it was listed as having two twin beds in the guest room but only had a queen. I needed two beds in that room. Overall, it was a great location, but not worth the price. I would not stay in this specific condo again, but we love Kona Reef.

D31 wonderful condo and the oceanside setting is great!

It is a great complex to enjoy not only the condo but the pool, bbq, the surf and sounds. It is perfect to walk to all sites at Seaside Kona, which has to offer! Love it here and will stay here again! If you want to have vacation and still feel you have a home here! This is the place! All the amenities were great! A/c was central and worked great! It has a good hawaiian feel as you come to understand the Hawaiian way and how to adjust to your vacation. Had many great nights at the bbq and pool and then walk a short way for some gelato or shave ice! I will definitely come again and to this unit D 31! Thank you!

Great Girlfriends Getaway!

This was my 2nd stay in this unit. It really works well for us with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The views are spectacular- we saw a lot of whales from the lanai this trip, along with surfers, outriggers going by, etc. I can't wait to visit again!

Fantastic condo

Place was terrific. One thing to note that should be fixed is the sliding glass door to the balcony can lock when closing and lock you out on the balcony. Luckily someone was inside to open when this happened to me.

Location and view beautiful. All the rest is unacceptable. The sliding glass door is broken, you know this because you have a sign on it rather than fixing it. The carpet is so dirty you would not want to be barefoot, stained and filthy. The louver doors on the prime bedroom is so full of dirt and dust you can’t even clean it could be a nice place but the pictures don’t show how distressed and filthy it is. Mold in the bathroom.
