Sehr nettes kleines Hotel in Stadtnähe. Alles von dort gut erreichbar. Bei einer solchen Alternative muss man auf keinen Fall direkt ins Zentrum.

Super Hotel mit einzigartiger Atmosphäre
Wir waren 5 Tage im Monte Christo Inn und in der Zeit gab es nichts zu bemängeln. Tolles Hotel mit tollem Chef und tollen Angestellten. Sehr sauber und in super Zustand. Frühstück mit wechselnder Obstauswahl, Müsli, Gebäck etc. und auf Wunsch frisch zubereitete Eierspeisen und alles was der Kühlschrank so her gibt. Die Atmospäre im Hotel hat uns Klasse gefallen.(Ist aber durch den sehr speziellen Style sicherlich Geschmacksache :-)) Alles in allem können wir das Hotel auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen und falls wir in den nächsten Jahren noch mal nach SF gehen sollten werden wir sicher auch wieder im Monte Christo einchecken.

Sehr sauber und individuelle Einrichtung
Das Hotel hebt sich durch die familiäre Atmosphäre und den hervorragenden Service von anderen Bed&Breakfast Hotels ab. Die Einrichtung ist antik und individuell gestaltet, die Zimmer und die Bäder sind lupenrein - kein Staub, kein Dreck, keine Wasser- oder Kalkspuren. Es gibt ein leckeres Frühstück auf Wunsch mit frisch gebratenen Eiern. Nachmittags stehen Kaffee und Cookies zur Verfügung. Die Zimmer könnten etwas größer sein. Mit großen Koffern wird es sehr eng. Leider war die Klimaanlage out of order - somit war das Zimmer sehr warm. Unser Zimmer lag zur Straße, sodass es mit offenem Fenster selbst Nachts sehr laut war. Ansonsten wärmstens zu empfehlen! Sehr schönes Hotel!

Our first night at the Monte Cristo was just awful: we were in an upstairs, back-side room on a warm evening. No ventilation to speak of, and no AC, meant that at 11pm, when it had cooled to 75-degrees outside, our room was 82-degrees. It finally dropped below 76-degrees around 4am. The second night was like night and day: we were moved to a street-side room, airy and well-ventilated, and spent a terrific day and evening there. The breakfast and staff were lovely throughout the visit. I’d recommend the Monte Cristo to anyone wanting to stay in the Richmond District, with the proviso that on a warm night, you ensure a cooler room.

A very quaint boutique hotel, I just loved staying here. I was alone for one night and the queen room was just enough. The dark wood turn of the previous century aesthetic and creeky floors gave it a warm comfy feel to it. Thanks, Paul

We enjoyed our stay at the Monte Cristo. It was very clean and the proprietor was very nice. The only thing I would say is that it was dark due to the decoration. I love vintage, but this was wearing around the edges.

Easy walk to Golden Gate Park. Very surprised how nice and quiet the neighborhood was. Enjoyed the breakfast variety of fresh ingredients, great beginning of the day. Snack and fudge to die for in the afternoon and evening. A block away from a hip lounge to have a drink and begin your evening. Well be returning !

Great little spot in Pac Heights!
Everything was lovely. There was some maintenance going on while we were there, but it didn't interfere with our stay. Hosts were unobtrusive, and breakfast was lovely. The location was convenient for the things we came to do, and while parking was on-street, we didn't have any trouble finding a spot.

My stay at the Monte Cristo Bed and Breakfast was very nice. The staff was great and super accommodating. It isn't in central downtown San Francisco but public transportation was super close and easy to use to get to the places we wanted to go. The big negative was parking. There is street parking but the car has to be moved according to the street cleaning schedule. The hotel does say that there is a lot close by that could be parked at for a fee but when we drove by it almost looked abandoned and there were very few cars parked there so it didn't seem safe to park. The only other comment my group had was that the breakfast didn't include any type of pastry or sweet item like cinnamon rolls, donuts, muffins...something sweet. This didn't bother me since I'm not a sweet for breakfast person but it was a comment my group made. Everything else was great!

This updated very old building is very comfortable, quiet and private. Rooms are small, but everything is modern - notably plumbing and wiring. There has been a real effort made to retain the prior feel with wallpaper, furniture, carpets, pictures on the wall. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and breakfasts were excellent!

The property itself was charming and warm as was the staff. The continental breakfast was excellent and plentiful as was the availability of snacks throughout the day.
