There is a disgusting smell in the whole building, the carpet in the room is dirty and for more than 100 dollars I would expect a bathroom in the room. Instead, there are shared toilettes and showers, which was not clear to me while booking.

Zentral gelegenes Hotel in San Francisco
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Für amerikanische Verhältnisse war das Frühstück sehr lecker und auch sehr gesund mit viel frischem Obst. Nachmittags Getränke und Kuchen. Die Zimmer selber verfügen über keine oder nur eine unzureichende Klimaanlage, was wohl allermeist keine Probleme bereitet. Leider hatten wir ungewöhnlich heißes Wetter bei unserem Aufenthalt. Das Personal war aber sehr aufmerksam und hat Ventilatoren verteilt und kurzfristige Zimmerwechsel ermöglicht. Die pro Stockwerk zur Verfügung stehenden Badezimmer sind sehr gut ausgestattet, aber nicht allzu viele. Trotzdem hatten wir selten Wartezeit. Das Viertel ist sehr trendy mit vielen kleinen hippen Läden und Restaurants. Anbindung an Bus und Metro ist gut.

Sehr empfehlenswert!
Der Aufenthalt war sehr sehr angenehm! Wir wurden sehr herzlich begrüßt. Das komplette Team ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Ausstattung ist sehr modern und gepflegt. Die Bäder sind topmodern und das Zimmer, welches relativ klein ist, ist zum schlafen aber absolut ausreichend. Das Frühstück ist im Preis inbegriffen. Es ist klein, aber alles sehr frisch. Es gibt eine Auswahl an Muffins und Bageln. Dazu Honig, Marmelade oder Käseaufstrich. Man kann aber auch zw. 3 Müsliarten wählen. Dazu kommen Säfte und jeden Tag (!) frisches Obst! Zum satt werden auf alle Fälle ausreichend! Am Nachmittag gibt es kostenlos (!) Cookies oder Muffins, sowie selbstgemachte Getränke. Die Umgebung ist allerdings nicht perfekt. Der Mission District ist ein Low-Worker-District. Es ist recht laut, schmutzig und es gibt sehr viele Obdachlose. Diese tun einen nichts und fragen ab und an, aber beim ersten Eindruck ist es schon erschreckend. Die Lage ist super! Man kann vom Hotel aus überall die Stadt per Fuß erreichen. Vor dem Hotel befindet sich eien Bushaltestelle sowie die BART Station. Wenige Minuten davon entfernt gibt es viele Restaurants, Bistros und eine Straßenbahnlinie.

I really enjoyed my stay at 1906 Mission - it was easy to find, in a convienent part of town, the showers/bathrooms were always clean, and I didn't have an issue with the electronic locks until the last day. Check out isn't until 11 AM, but the app access stops at 10:30 AM. I went across the street to grab a coffee and was locked out of the building for a good 10 minutes until a member of the cleaning staff heard me pounding on the door. Overall great stay, but getting locked out caused a lot of unnecessary stress, would be great if the app worked until 11 AM on check out day.

The hotel is close to both the train station and the bus stop. Although you should be careful about the safety of the area, I didn't feel particularly unsafe during the day. The shower and toilet facilities are shared, but well maintained and clean. They use electronic keys via a smartphone app, which is convenient. Overall, it's budget friendly and I'm very satisfied with my stay.

You booked a 3 day reservation, after the first night you called to state that you were checking out early. I said ok thank you for letting me know.Then you called back immediately after to ask about a refund. I explained that you had booked a non refundable reservation through expedia and to cancel you would need to contact them.Then after 2 phone calls from expedia you called again to ask about the check out process....5 phone calls in 10 minutes is very frustrating because you did not want to stay here anyway.I had to hang up with another guest just to answer phone calls from you and/or expedia about your reservation. Location is so central, it's awesome. Everything is right outside the door. The place is super clean - the staff is on top of it. The only thing i suggest is that the rooms need furniture - a chest of drawers makes a weeklong stay so much easier. I'm OCD, and my stuff was all over the place - made me anxious! haha

The property was kept clean and well stocked. The shared showers and bathrooms were cleaned very regularly. The beds were comfortable and had lots of pillows. The key system to the building and room was electronic with smart locks, so very convenient. The room was rather warm at night but a borrowed fan helped. There were a couple times where the other guests left behind a bit of a mess in between housekeeping visits or were inconsiderate but that is nothing against the property or staff. What I didn't like was the street the property was on and the immediate area. There were quite a few homeless individuals in front of the front door and nearby periodically. The sidewalk out front is basically a flea market on the weekends for a block and a half in either direction, where you literally have to step over and around people and their stuff spread out all over the ground. It smelled and was dirty, with trash all over the street and sidewalk, and we felt uncomfortable walking to and from the property.

The room has no air con so it was boiling all the time. The windows open but no air flow. The area is sketchy sketchy sketchy!!! No single female should stay in this area. As for the place. Staff were friendly. Constantly cleaning. I would not stay here again purely based off the area surrounding it. Just unfortunately far too many homeless, mentally ill, and drug users on the streets surrounding this hotel.

Nice hotel in an area with character
I was worried about staying here after reading some review de área being unsafe and dangerous. The week I stayed in January 2023 was unusually extra extra expensive in San Francisco due to a big conference taking over hotel reservations all over the city si this was my only choice.. the experience was very good. The area is not unsafe, some people selling second hand stuff in the street but not threatening in any way. It’s very close to the subway and there are amazing shops, restaurants and the Roxie film theatre just 2 blocks away. The rooms are small and you have to share a bathroom but in the whole week I stayed there I never once had to wait. The bathroom is spotless and there are plenty of towels and shower gel at all times. It’s almost instantly cleaned after every use. I was very pleasantly surprised. Free coffee in the morning. I’d strongly recommend that you download the key app in advance. It was a seamless experience for me, but I had to send a WhatsApp message on the day to get my contactless key activated. Also make sure you take your phone to the bathroom as otherwise you won’t be able to get back into your room. Make sure you have plenty of battery before returning at night because you need the phone to access hotel

My stay was very clean and comforting. The staff and management were very friendly and accommodating to my needs. I absolutely loved it there. If you don't mind staying in a hostel like environment with shared restrooms, showers and a community kitchen. This is the place to stay.

The room and property are nice and comfortable, and I was very impressed with the shared bathroom facilities, which were kept immaculate and well-stocked. But don't get the a room overlooking the street, as there is nearly constant loud noise from cars and music players.

Nice hotel, very cold.
The staff was nice, there was one thing that really made the stay uncomfortable - there was NO HEAT. I got back to the hotel around midnight to sleep and I couldn't see any control for the heat, there was no staff, and I had to wear my clothes in bed so I could stop shivering. I looked everywhere for a control of the heat, but there was none. The hallway was also very cold. The other thing is they have 100s of shampoo and conditioner but no body wash or soap.

Wij vonden een gedeelde badkamer niet erg en juist heel goed, omdat iedereen hier erg netjes mee omgaat! Verder is het zelf inchecken erg handig, want dan heb je geen sleutel of iets meer nodig. De kamers zijn wel een beetje klein.

Awful. I don’t know why every review keeps saying it’s clean cause it’s NOT. Stains on carpet, spots on walls and ceiling AND on the sheets. From my room I can see people in the shared shower which also has algae on the floors. Does that make me want to go take a shower? Absolutely not. Not to mention the extremely loud construction that starts at 5am so if you want sleep this is not the place to go. NOT like the pictures on the website. Also no elevator so if you have heavy luggage; good luck.

Well Sarah, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review & I would like a chance to respond. 1. The reason that most people leave a review saying how clean it is here …is because they think it is clean & we do our best to keep it that way. 2. You just don’t seem like the kind of person to sleep in dirty sheets……so did you call to complain? Or ask to be refunded? I do not remember hearing from you. To add: that since we opened in 2014, I do not remember any guest ever complaining about stained bedding (especially not a stained ceiling). 3. Regarding on how you could see the showers from your room.,..I’m very impressed! Your X-ray vision must be incredible to be able to see out your room door, around a corner, then 40 feet or so down the hallway, then around another corner into the nearest shower. Amazing! Perhaps that is how you can see the algae too? 4. Saying construction starts at 5 am is completely ridiculous. Again, did you call & complain? No Or say, text, email anything? No? Why not? If I was staying at a hotel, with dirty stained everything, disgusting showers, construction noise at 5am…..I wouldn’t be staying there for long without mentioning it to somebody. If not at the Hotel then perhaps with Expedia, so they could help you go somewhere else. The one thing you did say that was 100% correct: Our 1906 constructed hotel does not have an elevator. First of all, our digital key did not unlock our door. Housekeeping had to open it and the key they used ended up getting stuck in the door. They then called maintenance and it took about 45-60 minutes for them to fix this door issue. My friend and I sat on the bed as they did this and received no accommodations. There also seemed to be no AC in the rooms. A housekeeper knocked on the door in the morning before check out and we stated we were still in the room loud enough for her to hear, yet she proceeded to still unlock the door and try to come in. The cherry on top is there was no one at the front desk, and when we called to ask about AC, the manager or whoever answered the phone said no one was in the building to help us. Overall this hotel is in a shady part of town and has horrible service.

We asked for an early check in, which was noted and okay’d with by the hotel. They told us 10 AM was fine, and when we arrived at 10:30 AM, no one was working to let us in. We tried to check in later in the evening and again, no one was there to check us in. We did not even get into the room and had to stay elsewhere. Would like a refund please…

Hello Mathew, It was gay pride weekend…..we were 100% full & since you only booked this reservation the day before & checkout is not til 11am…..I don’t see who would have or could have said Ok to your early checkin request? I certainly cannot kick someone out of room for you to checkin. When you booked the reservation on 6/25/22 Here is the msg you received… ‘ 1906 Mission offers limited front desk hours. Your access to the building and your room will be granted through a smart lock technology. Your digital keys will be sent to you via text as soon as your room is ready and you are able to check-in.’ As for no staff if you had rung the doorbell…..one of the housekeepers would have been able to open the door & take your bags at least. We had an amazing stay in 1906 Mission! The bed is really good, the building is very charming and clean, you have everything you need just around the corner! Wesley is absolutely lovely and helpful. I’m pretty sure is the best deal to stay in SF!
