As other reviewers have said, the location and the apartment itself are stunning. Tucked into a piazza of its own with two restaurants just steps away, yet 100 meters from major sites and transportation hubs, the apartment in this 16th century building is charming, well-kept and clean. Ilaria was wonderful to work with in every way: responsive and helpful, and genuinely interested in helping us enjoy our stay.
Potential renters should understand that the kitchen is, as the owner's description and one reviewer make clear, very small indeed. It would be difficult for more than one person to work in it. Yet it is (as the reviewer indicated) well-equipped, clean and entirely functional. Renters should also understand that the owner's mention of the "second floor" may need a bit of elaboration for some American visitors: As in most European countries, what an American would call the "first floor" is considered the "ground floor," above which are the first and second floors; in other words, the apartment is on the third floor, accessed by way of two substantial staircases. One final thing: The single bedroom (which I used) has an extremely comfortable sofa bed -- but it is (like the kitchen) very small, in fact little more than a slight expansion of the hallway that leads to it. That said, it is quiet and cool, and I slept very well every night.
I mention these things not as criticisms but as elaborations of Ilaria's description. The apartment is a wonderful, and I recommend it enthusiastically.
