I thought the check-in process was odd. We received an e-mail the day before with room number and codes. However, our traveling companions did not. In order to gain entrance to our rooms, we had to go through a restaurant. The woman at the restaurant was irritated show had to explain how to reach someone to get information for our traveling companions to enter their room. The whole situation left us with a feeling of "not being taken care of." I would not recommend Hotel Vera to anyone,

Ok for comfort. Good for location.
The hotel is in the perfect location. The videos sent prior to arrival perfectly explained how to find the hotel and use the keypad system. It does feel a little odd walking through the restaurant to access rooms but I was well aware of this having read reviews. The room itself was quite well equipped in terms of catering for yourself (although the bin is quite small if you are going to be self catering for more than a day). The bed was extremely uncomfortable - to the point where I was in so much pain I was waking several times a night. It is in fact two singles pushed together and my husband who has significant back issues had the much better side of the bed. The reason I have given three stars is that we had one of the rooms on the ground floor which had only a velux to let in natural light. It did feel quite claustrophobic and that we were in some kind of underground bunker! It also made me a little nervous that we had no alternative method of escaping the room should there be a fire. I should say that the hotel was one of the more reasonably priced for the location. Maybe if we had an upper floor I’d have enjoyed my stay a little more. As a final note, a tiny bottle of milk would have been nice to make a coffee/ tea on arrival.

Great hotel
Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel was immaculate and had everything we needed. Was in a great location, short walk to everywhere we wanted to visit. Communication from hotel was great. No reception but they sent over all the info we needed to access our room.

It’s the only hotel that I’ve ever seen that doesn’t have a front desk. The check in process needlessly difficult. They do not hold suitcases so if you get there early you have to haul them around. The pads to put a PIN number in to enter do not work well, we are once stood out there for 15 minutes putting in the pin given to us and it said it was incorrect and then randomly worked. The woman who responded when we pressed the intercom couldn’t have cared less and was quite rude. There was only one thin towel per person.

If you don't mind drunken party people in front of the window till 4 in the morning, or the large garbage trucks at 6 AM - this is a nice facility. This is a self check-in "hotel" and if you want to use the elevator you enter through a restaurant. If it's closed - stairs. We experienced very temperamental electronic door locks - got stuck in the hall more than once. The unit itself was great! Full service kitchenette, modern throughout! Now if you can just get past the sulfurous smell of the tap hot water - we found it difficult.

This hotel was a little difficult to find as it is part of a restaurant. We called and once they told us what to look for we had no trouble finding it. Our hotel room was at the back of a restaurant.. We walked through the restaurant with our luggage to get to it. If you're on the 2nd or higher floor you do not do this. However, I don't believe there was an elevator. Room was nice overall, there's an area to cook if you wanted. It is right on the Main Street of Reykjavik.

For sure the location couldn’t be be better IF you are limited in time. As is close to all the amazing things to see in Venice. Also the “Academia” stop for the Taxi boat is around the corner from the Hotel. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The were bilingual (Italian/English). Their continental breakfast was great and the rooms were very cozy and comfortable. If you go in the summer, no worries their rooms have AC and you can rest and sleep comfortable. Very very nice well kept “Vintage Hotel” . I would stay there again hands down !!

Hotel Vera was a great place to stay. The location can’t be beat on the main entertainment street. Many excellent restaurants and shops on the street. Walk to all attractions with ease. Fantastic location, great room (with lots of light when you want it thanks to a skylight, and no light when you don’t, because of a blackout shade). There’s no reception or place to store luggage, and some rooms are accessed through the bar next door. The room has everything you could want.

Do not stay
Worst place ever. Small no space. They put us in the basement. No one is there to greet you. There is no reception. You are emailed a. Ode and have to go through a restaurant to go to your room. If the restaurant is closed you have no idea where to go to even get to your room because the door you have to do through is in the back and leads to an empy hallway and then more doors whi h I persume are all hotel rooms. It is creepy, small, dirty pillows with stains. Do not stay here!!!! Seriously can not express how disturbing this place was.

We enjoyed the stay at Hotel Vera, which was clean, modern and well equipped. Very close to most of the shopping areas and restaurants. There is no front desk at the hotel, yet staff are easily reached via online message and they are very helpful!

Excellent
The room and location are excellent. I was actually surprised at how great the room was. Plus there is a mini fridge, an induction stove top, and dishwasher, so we saved some money on eating out (food is very expensive in Iceland!) by cooking some of our meals. The building and rooms are accessed by key pad. Getting into the building was no problem, but the key pad for the room was very sensitive and resulted in some difficulties getting in the first couple of times we tried. I contacted the management and they were responsive and after practicing with it a few times I figured out exactly how the keypad needed to be tapped and didn't have problems after that.

Location was terrific! Had read reviews about difficult entrance so checked with property and no problem. Very compact space but worked for 2 adults and a teen. Would have liked someone to ask for extra toilet paper and coffee but we made it work.

Great service! We were on the first floor and had to access the room through a restaurant. Probably would be a nice idea to at least have a discount at the restaurant we needed to walk through! Other than that it was great! The room was really clean and a great location

Great location at one end of downtown. Room 102 was clean and had a mini kitchen. The only window was a huge skylight and getting the blind closed with the provided long stick was tricky and took some effort, but by standing on a chair it worked. Kind of crucial when sunset is 1130 pm and sunrise 330 am and you need to sleep during a layover. There is no staff on site and we never saw anyone--we were given a code to open the door to a closed restaurant, walked through to the back, and used the code to enter the room. The process worked, but don't expect a "hotel" experience. Overall we liked it, and the room was cheaper than others available at the time (neaely everything in Iceland will cost more than you expect).

Piccola per 4 persone ma buona per pochi giorni
Posizione ottima, stanza pulita e ben attrezzata. Unico neo la nostra camera un po' piccola per 4 persone , mancavano due sedie e un cuscino. Ingresso attraverso un ristorante ma nessun problema, si entra con i codici di accesso in qualunque orario.

Property served the needs of our trip (6 nights). Eating in was possible with the dining space. And the kitchen afforded us quick hot drinks when we wanted. I also loved that it afforded bigger sofa bed for my son. I would recommend. Being in downtown tho', you will hear commotions of passers-by. But noise from next room, no you won't.

Comodissimo che non serva il check in e si entra con un codice a qualsiasi ora. Ottima posizione. Si trova posteggio gratuitamente camminando un po'.
