6/10 – Okay

The home/condo was as advertised. Looked to have been remodeled recently and was clean. The living room furniture was not comfortable and but the rooms and kitchen were great. My issue is with the property management company “Gylf Coast Rentals” they failed to tell us that the city was restoring the beach in front of the unit. We arrived on Saturday evening and the beach was open and all was good. Tuesday we awoke to crews blocking the beach off and for the next 4 days they ran heavy equipment in front of the unit 24 hours a day. The noise and bright lights made the master bedroom unlivable at night. My issue with this is that we do a family beach trip every spring break along the gulf coast b aches of Florida and we always get a condo or home on the beach for quick and easy access. We always pay more for these units than the ones a few blocks off the beach or further away. This year we had to drive to the beach over 2 miles away (for bathrooms at access), I told the management company and they basically told me sorry about your luck. They knew the dates of beach restoration and failed to mention anything about it in the listing, we live in Indiana and do not track beach work in Florida. That said once this began we found the complete timeline for this work had been posted for several months long before we even booked. The management company should have let us know upfront or offered a discount similar to the cost of a non beach front rental. They did neither and did not care
