Overall, I really liked the Omni.
It’s in a great location and very walkable to many places in the French Quarter.
Frank brought our luggage to our room. He went above and beyond and showed us where everything in the room was and told us about the amenities the hotel offered. We received free water bottles every day. The lobby is beautiful, and there is live music there throughout the week. One afternoon, they served free ice cream. The rooftop and pool were relaxing. We received credit for the Rib Room and really enjoyed our dining experience. Fernandez was a joy to have as our server and provided exceptional service.
Unfortunately, I booked two rooms for my family and both of them had problems requiring us to move to different rooms. My parents’ room had a clogged sink, which affected the plumbing. Our room started leaking water from the ceiling in the shower and closet. We were thankful that both times they moved us easily and waived our destination fees.
Housekeeping was hit or miss. One day, they came but didn’t empty the garbage or make the bed. They did move the way my luggage was arranged in the corner… One day, they cleaned at night; another, in the morning. Once, I noticed that the washcloth and eyeglasses on my nightstand were gone. My husband found my glasses behind the nightstand. Very careless.
Ultimately, the Omni is a great hotel, but it would benefit from better maintenance and housekeeping.
