Traumhaft schönes Haus auf Madeira
Wir haben den Aufenthalt in diesem wunderschönen Haus auf dieser sehenswerten Insel sehr genossen. Der Empfang war freundlich und herzlich. Das Haus ist etwas schwer zu finden, da auf der Insel, die Beschilderung eher mangelhaft ist. Wer nicht gern Auto fährt, sollte lieber nicht auf Madeira Urlaub machen, zumindest nicht, wenn man keine Busausfahrten bevorzugt. Nur mit dem Auto erreicht man die reizvollsten Ecken der Insel. Außerdem sollte man wissen, dass es fahrerisches Können erfordert, denn die Insel besteht überwiegend aus steilen und kurvenreichen Straßen. Ansonsten ist Madeira absolut eine Reise wert.

Auszeit vom Winter
Wir durften 14 Tage Sonnenschein bei ca. 20° in der Casa do Gabriel mit seinem wunderschönen Garten und spektakulärem Ausblick auf das Meer erleben. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und konnten uns in der gut ausgestatteten Küche bei Bedarf selbst bekochen. Liebe Irina, herzlichen Dank!

Tolle Lage
Wir waren zum 2. Mal im casa do Gabriel und wir hatten wieder eine schöne Zeit, auch wenn die Einrichtung mittlerweile etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist. Zudem wären Fiegengitter in den Schlafzimmern und neue Matratzen sehr zu empfehlen. Aber insgesamt wieder ein schöner Urlaub.

Everything you need
The holiday home had everything you need. It is very spacious and clean. It is also very well equipped with kitchen utensils and everyday items. It is located in a quiet area. The hostess came by on the first day to show us everything and even gave us a welcome basket of food. I would book this cottage again.

Nette Unterkunft in einer schönen Gegend
Das Haus bietet alles, was zum Leben benötigt wird. Es ist großzügig geschnitten, allerdings auch etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Eine Renovierung würde dem Haus guttun. Auch einige Möbel könnten ersetzt werden. Die Matratzen in den beiden Schlafzimmern sind leider sehr weich, daher wurden die beiden Schlafsofas im Wohnzimmer genutzt. Der Garten ist einfach gehalten. Irina war sehr freundlich und beantworte alle Fragen gewissenhaft. Ihr Englisch ist ausgezeichnet. Die Gegend um Calheta zeichnet sich durch üppige Vegetation und schönen Stränden aus. Außerdem ist sie touristisch nicht so stark überlaufen und bietet zudem einen hervorragenden Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in den Levadas-Gebieten.

We were welcomed in a very friendly way and immediately felt at home. The holiday home is very beautiful and corresponds to what is mentioned in the advertisement. The garden around the house is very beautifully arranged. The most beautiful thing for us was the terrace with the view of the sea.

Schönes Ferienhaus
Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt im geräumigen, gut ausgestatteten Ferienhaus mit tollem Meerblick in ruhiger Lage. Schöne Wandertouren gabs gleich in der Nähe. Baden, Whale- Watching und gutes Essen konnten wir direkt vor Ort in Calheta genießen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und empfehlen die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiter.

Wonderful Casa
Wonderfull quite Casa, with carefully decorated and comfy rooms, a fully equiped kitchen as well as a very nice terrace to sit on in the mornings and evenings (we hiked throughout the day). Wir haben 3 sehr schöne Wochen im Casa do Gabriel verbracht. Vor allem den tollen Blick auf's Meer werden wir sehr vermissen. Das Haus ist in gutem Zustand und erfreulich vollständig ausgestattet, insbesondere der Küche. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl gefühlt werden sehr gerne wieder hierher kommen. - - - We had 3 very nice weeks at Casa do Gabriel. We will especially miss the great view of the sea. The house is in good condition and pleasantly fully equipped, especially the kitchen. We felt very comfortable from the first moment and will be happy to come back again.

Helles, großzügiges Haus mit phantastischem Meerblick
Hervorragend ausgestattetes, sehr sauberes und helles Haus mit großzügigem Wohn-Essbereich und tollem Meerblick. Ein hübscher Garten mit einem lauschigen Sitzbereich. Bei den Früchten, die im Garten wachsen, darf man sich bedienen. Sehr aufmerksam auch das „Willkommenspaket“ mit Wein und allem, was man für ein kleines erstes Frühstück braucht. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Vielen Dank an Irina und David, die wir leider nicht kennengelernt haben.

Also, in the appendix to the Rental agreement you had the following information: If it is cloudy for more than 2 consecutive days, the water may not get warmed up. In such case you may switch on the breaker for the auxiliary heater (located in the electrical panel in the closet by the front door) to heat the water if necessary. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit allem. Irina hat regelmäßig nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Da das Haus gut ausgestattet war,hatten wir nichts zu bemängeln. Wir haben unseren Urlaub dort sehr genossen. Bemerkenswert ist noch das sehr bequeme Bett, in dem wir super schlafen konnten.

Great accomodation
Casa do Gabriel is really wonderful. There is everthing you need and even more than that. The view is fantastic and there is plenty of space. We also liked the town Calheta. It is a good location to explore the island. Also the owners David and Irina are very nice and answer to whatever question you might have immediately. All in all we can truly recommend this accommodation.

Ein sehr großzügiges schönes Haus mit super Blick auf das Meer!
Das Haus hat uns sehr gut gefallen, vor allem die sehr gut eingerichtete Küche, was sonst eher selten ist und der großzügige Garten mit Blick auf das Meer. Die eingestellten Fotos entsprechen der Realität und die Einrichtung macht einen wohnlichen Eindruck. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

Die Casa Do Gabriel hat eine wunderschöne ruhige Lage mit bestem Meerblick und Sonne.
Die Lage mit dem freien Meerblick und den ganzen Tag Sonne. In dem schönen Haus fühlt man sich sehr schnell zu Hause. Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet, so dass es sich wirklich anbietet auch mal selber aus dem hervorragenden Angebot von frischem Fisch und Gemüse (für kleines Geld) zu kochen. Da ein Auto bei der Lage ein "Muß" ist, sind alle Wandereinstiege und Ausflugsziele gut zu erreichen. Sehr gefreut haben wir uns über ein "Welcomepackage". Es beinhaltete Kaffee, Milch,Brot, Butter und Käse sowie eine Flasche Wein und Wasser. Eine tolle Überraschung und sehr nette Geste. Nach einer Woche Aufenthalt fanden wir frisch bezogene Betten und frische Handtücher vor - ebenfalls eine nette Geste. Die Beschreibung und die Bilder des Hauses entsprechen der Realität. Die Möblierung ist nicht modern jedoch hochwertig. Wir erlebten zwei wunderschöne Urlaubswochen und können die Casa do Gabriel sehr empfehlen. Die Anfahrtsbeschreibung war perfekt.

TRANSLATION: The location with the open sea view and the whole day sun. In the beautiful house you feel very quickly at home. The kitchen is fully equipped, so it really offers to cook even from the excellent offer of fresh fish and vegetables (for small money). Since a car is a "must" in the situation, all hiking trails and excursion destinations are easy to reach. We were very pleased with a "Welcome package". It included coffee, milk, bread, butter and cheese as well as a bottle of wine and water. A great surprise and very nice gesture. After a week stay we found freshly made beds and fresh towels before - also a nice gesture. The description and the pictures of the house correspond to the reality. The furnishing is not modern however high-quality. We had two wonderful vacation weeks and can highly recommend the Casa do Gabriel. The approach was perfect. Schönes Ferienhaus in ruhiger Lage
Das Ferienhaus hat uns insgesamt sehr gut gefallen. Es ist gepflegt und verfügt über einen schönen Garten. Danke auch für das "Starterset" bei unserer Ankunft. Die Lage ist für eine "Madeirarundreise" ideal. Die Angaben des Online-Inserates sind korrekt, auch wenn man sich in Deutschland unter Kaffemaschine etwas anderes vorstellt. Hilfreich war das Buch über Levadawanderungen, die uns mit am meisten beeindruckt haben. Deutsche Fernsehsender haben wir nicht vermißt, wir hatten so mehr Zeit zum Lesen und entspannen. Der Preis ist vergleichsweise günstig.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION: The cottage gave us an overall good experience. It is maintained and has a beautiful garden. Thanks also for the "starter set" when we arrived. The location is ideal for a "Madeira travel". The details of the online advert are correct, even if the coffeemaker was something other than in Germany. Helpful was the book about Levada walks which impressed us the most. We didn't miss the German TV channels, so we had more time to read and relax. Recommended: visit the old sugar cane factory in Calheta; eating out in Quinta Alegre; coast round ride north coast; visiting quaint bars in the neighborhood. We can recommend the house. The price is relatively low. Heinrich, So pleased you enjoyed your stay. We have just replaced the coffee machine with a new one so you will be even happier on your next visit. Madeira holiday
We stayed for the first time on Madeira in Casa do Gabriel. We had a fantastic time. Madeira is beautiful with one week not being near enough to explore and do all the things Madeira offers. Our choice of Casa do Gabriel to stay in was an inspired choice. The house is fabulous, well equipped, comfortable, well located, private, clean, lovely hostess, fab garden with fruit we were allowed to pick! We loved everything about our accommodation and our stay in Madeira.

Disappointing
There were many things that were good about this property but some things let it down. The ping pong table was broken ( owner apologised & said she'd forgotten to mention it) we could not get into the garage, front door lock was broken, staining on pillow & bed cover in second bedroom ( owner apologised, said it was an oversight by the cleaners!) No hair dryer, upstairs seating area, swing was not clean. There is a photo on the web page showing a sun lounger but this area is now overgrown! However, we loved the island, had a fabulous tour with Hit The Road Tours, highly recommended. We had hired a car & saw what this beautiful island has to offer. We shall return but not to this property...

My wife and I had a great stay at Casa do Gabriel. It was very comfortable and clean. Well stocked kitchen, including a powerful blender to make my morning smoothies. The welcome basket was greatly appreciated. We hope to return again for another stay on this beautiful island

Glad it was the last leg of our Portugal Trip.
We spent 3 weeks in Portugal - Lisbon, Sintra, Coimbra, Porto and then finished our trip in Madeira - best decision EVER. We were really busy on the mainland - what we call 'travelling': seeing sites, busy crowds, larger cities - busy days and nights. We flew out for the last 6 days of our trip and this was our 'Vacation'. Fantastic and beautiful location. The moment we walked in we pulled back the drapes and opened the windows - and didn't close them until we left. The view to the ocean was spectacular and so very, very peaceful. I spent three solid days on the patio reading and relaxing and many times just sitting in peace, watching the birds, butterflies, honey bees and lizards do their thing. The garden is beautiful with many different flowers - the angel bells were my favorite and smelled incredible. The house was clean and had the basics that we needed. We found a mercado and stocked up on simple foods - cheese, jamon, sparkling water, and other snacks - it was all we needed. The owners were very responsive and gracious. We were able to catch up on laundry and had racks to easily dry them outside. Coffee pot, microwave, fridge, stove, dishes and cutlery - everything we needed. They left a nice basket with wine, bread, jam and other goodies. We live in California and if we come back, will again spend a long week on Madeira - the island is beautiful - tropical and reminded us of Hawaii but much quieter. The houses are built into the side of the mountain so was hard to find one without a view . The folks there were gracious and helpful. We found out the island has 420 tunnels! Our ride from the airport was 50 minutes and were told before the tunnels were built it would take over 3 hours. We knew there were many beautiful locations and historical sites to check out but this leg we were ready to just decompress. If you're coming don't let the 50 minute drive to the location deter you - you'll be very glad you came out this far and it was super easy to rent a car. Thanks to Irina for a wonderful stay. PS - they had a fascinating library, dvd's and cd's and I read a few of her books while there.

Prachtig huis op mooie locatie
Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad! Het huis is ruim en heel netjes. Alle voorzieningen zijn aanwezig. De woning ligt in een rustige buurt, maar met de auto ben je binnen 5 minuten bij het strand, winkels en restaurants.

Lovely Madeiran hideaway
Excellent home from home with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Irina was very welcoming and was there to meet us even although it was a late flight. We also appreciated the welcome provisions. The property was spotless and bed very comfortable. The location is quiet and peaceful and only a 5 minute drive to Calheta where there are some restaurants, supermarket and the beach. Plenty space around the house to relax in the sunshine including a lovely roof terrace. There is a bar and a local supermarket within walking distance. The driveway is a bit steep but no problem once you get used to it - best with a smaller car.

exceptionnel
magnifique maison , propre, bien entretenue, vue sur l'océan ce qui est bien agréable pour les petits déjeuners. linge de toilette, literie confortable, ménage pendant le séjour; Irina est super sympa et n'a pas hésité à venir nous chercher à Funchal à 3 h du matin suite à annulation de notre vol pour ne pas nous laisser dans l'embarras. Télé avec netflix ce qui est un plus par rapport aux locations habituelles. Documentation pour les ballades . Nous sommes tout disposés à revenir . merci à Irina. juste un détail: j'aime dormir la fenêtre ouverte et l'absence de moustiquaire est un peu gênant. Il faudrait y penser pour que ce soit le top du top.
