Sehr schönes Hotel, tolle Lage und freundliches Personal. Leider beliebt für Hochzeitsfeiern und deshalb war die letzte Nacht nicht so schön, da die Musik sehr laut war und leider bis halb sechs in der Früh die Bässe wummerten.

Das Peterson Hotel ist wunderschön gelegen - daran gibt es keinen Zweifel. Es wirbt mit wunderschöner Aussicht - einige Zimmer haben die sicherlich auch. Das, was ich allerdings bekommen habe, ist eine absolute Frechheit. Die Werbung auf Expedia und auch auf der hoteleigene Webseite zeigt auf den Fotos auch bei einem Einzelzimmer eine Aussicht auf Bäume. Ich hingegen bekam eine Aussicht auf einen Innenhof aus Betonwänden circa 5 × 6 Meter. Als ich mich beschwerte, wurde sogar noch behauptet, dass alle Einzelzimmer so gelegen wären. Als ich daraufhin das Bild aus der Werbung zeigte, wurde eingestanden, dass es die Zimmer doch gäbe, aber nicht verfügbar seien. Es tue Ihnen Leid - und damit war der Fall für das Hotel erledigt. Ich habe 6 Monate im Voraus gebucht und bezahlt und dann das wohl schlechteste Zimmer des Hotels bekommen. Außerdem war durch die hohen Wände vor dem Fenster die Luftzirkulation sehr eingeschränkt und das Zimmer dadurch sehr stickig. Leider zeigte sich das Hotel auch im Nachgang überhaupt nicht kooperativ oder auch nur einsichtig, als ich meine Beschwerde bei Expedia platzierte. Man wir mit Sprüchen, wie „Die Bilder wären nur ein Beispiel“ und ähnlichen Aussagen abgespeist. Hier handelt es sich um irreführende Werbung. Ich hätte dieses Hotel niemals gebucht, wenn ich von dieser „Aussicht“ des Zimmers gewusst hätte. Schämt euch!

Sehr schönes historisches Gebäude
Sehr schönes Gebäude in super Lage zur Erholung. Die Zimmer sind eher klein und abgenutzt, aber absolut sauber. Sehr freundliches Personal.

Country Hotel at a Reasonable Price
I spent a night here after flying into Heathrow. Although it takes less than an hour with public transport to get into central London the hotel is set in green meadows with view over the Thames. The staff were helpful and obliging. At breakfast you are served rather than having to ordeal a buffet. My single room looked on to a courtyard where building work was going on. This made the room very dark. It was also quite loud during the working day.

Gutes Hotel in bester Lage
Richmond upon Thames ist ein sehr schönes Wochenendziel, wenn man Spaziergänge in angenehmer Umgebung machen möchte. Der Botanische Garten, Hampton Court Palace, Ham-House und die liebliche Themse sowie Richmond Park laden zum Erholen vom städtischen Alltag und zum Entschleunigen ein.

Great but a couple of downsides
Hotel is beautiful and we were lucky enough to stay in one of the bigger rooms with a balcony. The view of the river from the balcony was amazing The only 2 downsides were that the bedside lights couldn’t be turned on separately to the ceiling lights and so my wife inadvertently woke me up in the night when she turned her bedside light on. It was also impossible to open the toilet window and there wasn’t an extractor fan so the room couldn’t be aired

Enjoyable and practical location
Very clean property with outstanding service. Well appointed and English as it gets. Great location with nice river views. Easy walk to most everything. Do wonder what it is like in warmer weather as the lack of AC can cause a bit of stuffyness. Overall great place to stay.

well , the room was a little disappointing in its location . I booked it well in advance and was told it would be possible to be given a room with even a limited view , but on arrival was given a room on the ground floor at the back with no view at all , As it was my birthday treat , and I used to live in Richmond it was disappointing not to have any view at all

Overpriced for a standard hotel
Fairly overpriced for size of the room , bathroom lovely but separate toilet couldn't even turn round in without hitting the sink, didn't stop for breakfast as looked very pricey for what it was and the hotel took an extra £60 from my card to hold until we checked out which I thou go t was a little steep

Room was small for a deluxe room with just a double bed, not a king. Staff were poor and didn’t seem well trained at check in or check out and all just a bit dated.

Luxury in Nature
I booked this hotel because of its proximity to Richmond Park and Kew Gardens as I wanted to show my family another side of London - a more countryside feel. The hotel surpassed my expectations. It's located next to the wilder Thames river with a footpath that you can stroll on. The reception and restaurant staff are friendly and attentive and the rooms and property are clean and well maintained. Bus 65 is right adjacent to the property and will take you to Kingston (Hampton Court Palace) or to Ealing Broadway where you can take the train or Tube to other parts of London. Wish we could have stayed here longer but will definitely book again if we are in the area.

This is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast room has a fabulous view of the Thames. It is easy to walk to the centre of Richmond or there is a bus stop close by. We were not seeking any spa facilities, which this hotel does not have on its premises but had a very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful place with stylish rooms at a very reasonable price. I cut my foot on a glass shard left in the bathroom which is not expected and the only issue I had with the hotel was the female Spanish receptionist was a little less apologetic than expected. Not her fault of course, said the right words but gave the impression she did not believe me. I wasn’t fishing for compensation but a gesture would have been appreciated. Nothing crazy like a free room, but a glass of Champagne on next visit or an upgrade, perhaps. Apart from that - great place.

Did not like the small room we were given despite paying a lot of money. Room was in a poor condition. It’s supposed to be a five star hotel but the room did not meet the standards .

The hotel is lovely in a beautiful setting the view from my deluxe room and from the dinning room is stunning overlooking the Thames. Unfortunately I found the staff are not trained to a standard in keeping with a 4 star hotel. Breakfast is not included in the rate and can be expensive as you are paying for items individually. I had breakfast twice, on both occasions there were issues eggs not cooked as ordered or undercooked no milk for the tea or butter for toast requesting things several times. I also had an issue with the pre authorised amount full payment for the stay plus £100 was debited at check in. When checking out I kept asking if the pre authorisation would be cancelled but the receptionist was unable to clearly explain the billing policy and I was made to feel I was being difficult.

Beautiful location and building. Clean, comfortable, quiet room with plenty of space and good bathroom. Walking distance to Richmond Riverside and town with straightforward access via car & public transport to Central London. It was great to take a city-break and have woodland outside the window (complete with Tawny owls).

We loved the Petersham and our wonderful view of the Thames and the Petersham Common. It was delightful to watch people run and walk their dogs. Calling a taxi or an Uber was a great option, but walking back toward Richmond and Kew along the Thames or up along Richmond Hill was tranquil and just lovely. We had high tea and a great English breakfast. To not stay in London and to explore Kew Gardens and see the lovely shops and restaurants Richmond has to offer was a great getaway!
