Das Hotel wird von einem schweizer-französischen Ehepaar geführt, leider sprechen weder die Ehefrau noch das Personal Englisch, der Ehemann, spricht eine Bisschen Deutsch, ist aber selten da. Die Anlage ist sehr gemütlich und romantisch, schöner Schwimmingpool, augezeichnete Küche. Der Ort ist grauenhaft: Verkehrslärm (Auto's, Mofas, Quads), chaotisch, sehr schmutzig (überall liegt Müll), große Löcher in den Straßen. Der Strand ist schön und endlos, jedoch teilweis direkt an der Strape gelegen, deshalb sehr laut (Verkehrslärm).

Amazing oasis among walled-off private condos. A tranquil tropical garden around the pool, Latin music in a low volume lounge mode, and really unique artsy design of the 2-level rooms. Reviews complain about a walk to the town center in between concrete fended - yes, but that is a true Dominican experience as opposed to the artificial world of all-inclusive resorts. We like to combine both worlds on a single trip. Personnel is very courteous and welcoming. If you like latin dancing (salsa / bachata) and good cocktails, I recommend Mosquito bar - the very first venue you encounter when you walk. (Can also park nearby). It gets lively closer to midnight, with really good dancers. A little further along the shore the beach club restaurant is nice, and an ice-cream shop behind it

Nice but be aware.
First with the good: The grounds were beautiful as was the pool. The staff were kind and respectful however English was not easily understood. The bed was comfortable and the outside sitting area was lovely and quiet. The negatives: The shower head in unit2 had no pressure, the bracket holding the shower head was broken. Lots of ambient light at night making it challenging to sleep. The distance to the beach was more like 450m through a concrete walled laneway. Breakfast was small and plain but nicely served. Drinking water was not provided on a daily basis which should have been without an additional fee.

Gentle and friendly.
Warm and friendly staff. Good breakfast. Lovely pool. The hotel pics do not do justice to the garden or setting. 400 meter walk to the best beach around as it is wide and you can escape the terrible traffic noise from quads, motorbikes, mopeds, blowing engines. It is in a good quiet area too, so tranquil. I think our room is in the process of an update as the floor looked very worn and dirty, but was not…..It is just in need of a good paint like the rest of the bathroom. Mini bar, snacks and meals available. Good value for families too as there were 3 single beds up in the open area upstairs of the studio. Very decent and caring staff. They were all charming.

Was locked out, unable to check-in
I booked via hotels.com, arrived at 11PM. All doors locked, no way inside, no indication how to get in. I literally drove up and down numerous times. Tried calling multiple times, no answer. Contacted hotels.com, they tried contacting the hotel, no answer. So unfortunately, i paid for a hotel booking that i could not sleep in.

Dear customer, we've been waiting for you at the hotel to check in, we always have security from 7pm to 7am, so it's impossible that you have gone to our hotel. Unfortunately, there are many customers who get confused and go to another hotel with the same name as ours, but in English, ours is in Spanish: La Tortuga, and we are in Las Terrenas in Pueblo Pescadores, next to Ballenas Beach. The Hotel's phone staid with me all night and nobody calls. I,m very sorry for you, but you never arrived to our Hotel. We hope we can welcome you at our Hotel next time. Happy new year. Buen hotel
Me gusto mucho el hotel. Esta muy bien ubicado del pueblo las terrenas donde nos permitió ir a otros lugares del entorno. Servicio muy bien y buena limpieza. Lo unico en lo que no tuve muy de acuerdo es que hice una reserva para pago en el hotel y nos cobraron, cuando teniamos estipulado otro método de pago.

Buenas tardes y gracias para poner un comentario sobre nuestro hotel. Generalmente hacemos el chek in antes de la llegada de los clientes.Eso no significa que no puedan pagar de otra manera.El chek inn solo es una garantia de la reservacion luego el cliente puede decidir como pagar. Es este caso nosotros simplemente anulamos el chek inn y el dinero vuelve a la quenta de la tarjeta de credito. Saludos cordiales..........Maurizio.
