Giving Baker’s Cay 2 stars based on value for money—simply put, it’s not there. While the resort has the potential to feel high-end, the only thing luxury about it right now is the price tag.
The property itself is beautiful, and the view from our Hammock Wing balcony was the highlight of the trip. The lobby and restaurants were nicely updated, and while the room was decent, it didn’t match the premium price point.
Staff friendliness was hit or miss. Food service staff were the most polite, but we had a frustrating experience our first night. We arrived late and tired, and my wife has a severe gluten allergy. The online menu didn’t list gluten-free options, so we called the front desk, who told us to call the restaurant. The restaurant told us to come down and look at the menu—defeating the purpose of room service entirely. We did so anyway, ordered reluctantly, and were charged over $25 in “convenience” fees. Food took 90 minutes to arrive, was cold, and my drink never came.
Lastly, the corridor between ocean-view and parking-lot-view rooms echoed terribly. Screaming kids and barking dogs kept us up each night.
This resort has the potential to be great, but our experience didn’t reflect the cost. Don’t trust the TikTok traveler reviews, they only highlight the few good things you’ll encounter. Wouldn’t return at these rates.
