Ideales Hotel zum Wale beobachten. An einer sehr schönen Lage, zentral gelegen im Städtchen Hermanus. Sehr zuvorkommendes und freundliches Personal. Das Hotel kann jederzeit weiter empfohlen werden.

Luxushotel mit Weckruf der Wale
Wir waren drei Nächte im Hotel und am ersten Morgen wurde wir bereits von den Walen geweckt, die direkt vor dem Fenster vorbeischwammen. Das gebuchte Zimmer mit zwei Räumen ähnelte mehr einer luxoriösen Suite und die serviceorientierten Mitarbeiter waren immer zur Stelle, wenn man sie brauchte. Sogar der Hotelmanager und seine Frau kümmerten sich ebenfalls persönlich um jeden einzelnen Gast und waren sehr hilfsbereit. Beide Restaurants sind sehr zu empfehlen und die angebotenen Speisen waren erstklassig, wie auch der empfohlene Wein. Ein gesicheter kostenloser Parkplatz ist direkt vor dem Eingang vorhanden. Das insgesamt ein sehr gut geführtes Hotel können wir wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Une extraordinaire étape à Hermanus. Un hôtel tellement remplit d’histoire ….un personnel aux petits soins. Bref ……extraordinaire! Tout est beau !!!!!! Nous avons été un peu déçu par le restaurant qui n’est pas à la hauteur de l’établissement ( aucune saveur dans nos 2 plats principaux ) bien que l’entrée ( la bisque était extra ). Mais nous en gardons un merveilleux souvenir !

Great hotel to stay in Hermanus.
We booked this location thinking we were going to see the whales but got it wrong. They have moved on after October/November and we went early December. Having said that we are really pleased that we stayed in Hermanus for a few nights. It is a beautiful place and a world away from Cape town. The Marine is a delightful hotel with fantastic food, a nice quiet pool area and a short walk from many restaurants and shops. We had a lovely room although we did not pay extra for a sea view. Since there were no whales to see that was fine.

Despite a few issues Michel, General Manager, went out of his way to ensure we had a wonderful time at the hotel. His team clearly enjoy being at the hotel and ensuring everyone is having a great time and helping out with any queries or reservations. Ensure you take a trip to Creation for the wine tasting which is memorable. We will return for Whale watching next year.

Beautiful hotel and grounds - larger than average rooms with very comfortable beds and great views of the ocean. 5 minutes walk to town centre for all restaurants however hotel food was very good too. Pool area and spa wonderful too !

Great location
Fantastic location, good ambience, top breakfast, but not as good as same group hotel Plettenberg. Nice old buildings, but need more maintenance. “Tired” and old noisy windows kept me awake in nights , because of strong winds. Staff tried to fix, but no luck. Same reason wind made it gold in the room. Still very good and memorable stay.

Lovely property deserving of every accolade from the moment of check in , when we were offered hot towels for our faces and honey lemon rooibus tea. Rooms were plush, the staff was very attentive without hovering. Both the complimentary breakfast and our fabulous dinner were 5 star.

We came away for two nights to be close to the beach and within easy drive of the two wine valleys - Elgin and Hemel en-Arde. The welcome by hotel staff was superb and we thought highly of the Pavilion Restaurant. The sea view room was well appointed and we loved the high quality bed linen.

Very nice stay. Only reason for staff rating was 1 individual. Almost seemed as though they intentionally put us in the least desirable room ( the hotel was 3/4 empty )even though we booked a sea view luxury suite, we got a partial view on the 1st floor. When I mentioned it was quite noisy above us, another member immediately moved us upstairs to a great room. Don’t get me wrong, except for 1 hiccup, this is a very nice place, with killer views, and very good food. (Also, right next to shops and restaurants).

We loved our room it was small but very comfortable, the issue we came upon was that there were peanuts on the floor when we checked in, we spoke to reception who then spoke to housekeeping who must have picked up the peanuts as we didn't find them when we came back to the room. The hotel is our favourite in Hermanus, and the upgrading of the rooms are an absolute positive enhancement to a fabulously positioned hotel.

The location of this historic hotel is magnificent, on the cliff edge high above the sea. It has wonderful views of Walker Bay and is very accessible to the town centre. The staff and service are excellent. We loved our charming room. The interiors are beautiful, the main lounge has been redecorated and is stunning. We loved having breakfast outside in the front of the hotel with sea views. Excellent wifi, easy free parking. We would love to return and would recommend this hotel.

My wife and I had the best time at the Marine hotel. It was a night away from the kids and we couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. The service was excellent and location was beautiful. We loved the pool and our room was perfect. We will definitely stay here again.
