Für ein Nacht ist das Hotel ok.
Wir hatten das Hotel als zwischenstop gewählt. Leider das Badezimmer ist VIEL ZU KLEIN, man hat kaum Platz drin. Sonst ist das Hotel gut gelegen.

Einchecken und Auschecken war ziemlich halbherzig und eher unfreundlich. Wir hatten ein dreier Zimmer. Dieses war von der Einrichtung her okay. Die Matratzen waren sehr hart bzw. eine war unglaublich weich und man lag quasi auf der Feder. Die Sauberkeit lies zur Wünschen übrig. In den Betten waren Haare und die Bettwäsche war dreckig. Das Badezimmer war modern eingerichtet, jedoch war der Duschablauf verstopft, wodurch das komplette Badezimmer unter Wasser stand. Auch war die Klospülung unglaublich laut. Das Frühstück war gut und ausreichend. Allerdings war das Geschirr dreckig.

Sehr nettes, zuvorkommendes Personal. Gute Lage, leckeres Frühstück. Im zweiten Stock war kaum Wasserdruck und es tropfte Wasser aus der Dusche über uns in unser Badezimmer. In Allem war es ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt und sehr zu empfehlen.

Verbesserungswürdig: Komfort des Zimmers
Ein hübsches altes Haus in zentraler Lage im Szeneviertel Kemptown. Pubs und Restaurants sind Fußläufig, in 7 min ist man am Royal Pavillon, in 10 min bei den berühmten Lanes, in 5 min am Brighton Pier. Die Zimmer selber sind recht klein, wir hatten ein Double Room mit einem 140cm Bett mit leider schlechter Matratze, so dass das Schlafen keine Freude war. Frühstück gibt es a la carte und es ist für jeden etwas dabei, auch für Vegetarier. Das Personal ist freundlich und sehr bemüht.

Tolles Hotel mit freundlichem Personal
Es hat uns in Brighton sehr gut gefallen. Das Hotel lag unweit vom Brighton Pier (Strandpromenade) und war somit nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt. Auch ins Zentrum gelang man in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß. Vor allen in der "Bondstreet" fanden sich sehr schöne, kleine Geschäfte, die zum shoppen einluden. Kulturell ist der Royal Pavillion besonders sehenswert.

Ideale Lage für einen Kurztrip nach Brighton
Wir würden die Lage dieses Hotels als perfekten Ausgangspunkt bezeichnen, von dem sich Brighton und Hove wunderbar zu Fuß erkunden lassen. Zum Strand sind es nur ein paar Schritte, dann steht man direkt am Sea Life Aquarium, Brighton Pier und dem Pebble Beach. Auch North Street mit ihren unzähligen Restaurants, Pubs und Shops mündet quasi hier. Das Hotel selbst ist klein und behaglich, für englische Verhältnisse auch gut in Schuss. Das angeschlossene Restaurant ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, allerdings können wir über das Essen nichts berichten, weil wir immer auswärts gegessen haben. Das Personal war ausnahmslos freundlich und hilfsbereit. Um zu unserem Zimmer zu gelangen, müssten wir ein paar Stufen durch einen recht engen Treppenaufgang hinaufgehen, aber das war kein Problem. Könnte allerdings beschwerlich sein, wenn man nicht ganz zu gut bei Fuß ist. Das Zimmer war klein und rustikal, das Bad ebenso, aber uns hat es gefallen, weil es sauber und gemütlich war, aber ohne großen Luxus. Hellhörig ist das Haus allerdings. Man hört Schritte und Stimmen durch die Wände. Wenn man damit kein Problem hat, ist man im New Steine in Brighton gut aufgehoben. Zur Parkplatzsituation: vor dem Hotel kann man an der Straße parken, dies sind allerdings kostenpflichtige 2h-Parkplätze. Man kann im Hotel Parkscheine für eine Reihe von benachbarten Straßen kaufen. Diese Kosten 8£ und sind jeweils 24h gültig. Wir fanden das ok und mussten nie mehr als 2min zu unserem Auto laufen.

Unkomplizierte Betreuung und nettes kleines Hotel
Ein sehr nettes Hotel mit nettem jungen Personal - das einzige Manko für mich war, dass es nicht ganz ruhig war und ich neben etwas Strassenlärm sehr deutlich meine Zimmernachbarn nachts hören konnte. Die Zimmer sind sehr nett und witzig eingerichtet und sauber, aber man merkt, dass es ein altes Gebäude, zwar mit Charme, aber auch mit knarrenden Treppen und Holztüren ist. Trotzdem hat es mir gut gefallen!

When we arrived the male staff was very rude and condescending. He shouted at me repeating wait, wait, wait through a locked door telling me I was at the wrong door. No signage to explain this. He then ignored me and walked off until I rang the bell. He then shouted at me to wait again until he reluctantly let me in. I was then told that I couldn't park outside in the street at the discounted voucher price and had to pay full parking charge unless I parked in a permit bay in a different street. I'd just spent half hour looking for a parking space. I explained I had emailed the hotel twice regarding parking etc but never received a reply. It was my wifes birthday and was hoping they could do something special for her in the room. The room was okay but cold and needed some tlc. Burns on the carpet, cracked wall paper and the shower tray was blocked and overflowed. No towels in the room when we arrived although this was rectified. One small bottle of water between us for a 3 night stay. We also watched a crackhead from our window lighting up early morning taking his drugs and causing a disturbance. The rest of the staff were nice and the breakfast was okay. No fresh orange juice just orange cordial. Apple juice was watered down too. It wasn't an unpleasant stay but we expected a lot more for the money we paid. Not much information on the website either.

Nice stay
The location of hotel is good and you can find various shops, supermarket, restaurants and bars just around. The view outside is nice as you can see the sea at a walkable distance. You can also enjoy a coffee and breakfast at the cafe at beach. The indoor design is warm. However the heater did not provide enough heat and the hot water supply at bathroom is not stable. There is no lift and you may evaluate if you can take a big luggage upstairs although I guess you can ask for a room at lower floor. It was a nice stay anyway.

Always a fab stay here
It's always a pleasure to stay with New Steine, even as a solo single room traveller. My latest trip was to the "infamous" room 206. The room IS small, but hardly surprising considering the excellent price. Whoever came up with the idea of the in-room shower unit (I think this is new since my last stay in that particular room) hats off! Advertised as shared bathroom, should read shared toilet.

The heating was not working we hot 2 small electric heaters for the big room it was just barable. The shower was electric and super slow impossible to wash my long hair, the sinks hot water was just dripping impossible to wash ha ds when opening cold water the sink was fliiding as couldn't drain well. The floor in shower was tilted and showerdoor was leaking so ut went all to the bedroom we had 2 towels on the floor to preven this from happening. And the toilet was next to bew with folding doors giving absolutely zero privacy for anyone to use the toilet.

Hotel was conveniently situated for the pier, shops, restaurants etc. Staff were friendly The room was well appointed but the wooden blinds were damaged, one curtain dropped down from the rail as hooks missing. Bathroom bin lid fell off so we fixed it and we fixed the bathroom light. Breakfast was a little disappointing. Fruit on one day only, cooked breakfast served lukewarm on cold plates. Good quality ingredients but could have been served hotter on warm plates. Plenty of refills of hot drinks and toast.

The staff were great! Amazing location close to everything!

Disappointed
In general, the room was nice, but I wouldn’t say it was worth £180 for one night. The bathroom was poorly designed whenever you had a shower it leaked and got underneath the laminate flooring you had to squeeze past the toilet which had the towel rail opposite to get to the sink. There was exposed pipe work and wiring in the bathroom and generally the fact that it was in the basement made it feel like an after thought! Although yes, it was five minute walk to the seafront it was quite expensive for a room only basis. Honestly, I have stayed in better hostels than this hotel!
