"For our booking of a double room with a Garden View, we got a room half in the underground (room number 100), with a window showing us the feet of people walking outside, wheels of the cars... and we were simply told "there are no other rooms available" "a room with noise is something you should accept if you book a room in a hotel in the city center". On the next day, we got another room in a higher floor and the parking fee of the first night as a compensation.
Now looking back, we evaluate positively how the hotel tried to improve our mood. However the basement room remains offered to guests with the same claim of "double room with a garden view" with not a cheap price, and I believe it is unfair.
I would rather expect the hotel to mention about those 2 rooms in the basement and its disadvantage, and to lower slightly the price. This way we could avoid a misunderstanding (the room itself is well equipped and the hotel location might still be attractive for many)."
