Pricing of our home is on a per guest and per pet basis and applies to the entire reservation length (regardless if some guests / pets are only visiting, won't be sleeping over on certain nights, etc.) - we ask all guests to enter the total number of guests / pets that will enter our home when booking, to see accurate pricing and avoid price changes for additional guests / pets added after booking.

There are cameras on the exterior of the home. They are motion activated, record video and audio, and are active during reservations. There is also a decibel monitoring device located in the home. This is a smart device that measures decibel levels only and allows us to respond to extremely loud and sustained volumes. It does NOT record conversation, it only measures decibel levels. This helps us to avoid unauthorized events / parties. Our goal is for our guests and neighbors to both have an enjoyable experience!

The house is centrally located in a wonderful lively area with constant foot traffic, great restaurants, etc. The primary bedroom faces the street. If you are an especially light sleeper, or value quiet over location, we may not be a good fit for you. We provide ear plugs and white noise machines for your comfort.

Please note that this is a row house with a separate basement level unit so you may see us / others staying in the lower level unit.

The house is a historic DC rowhome that is over 130 years old (built in the 1890s!). We try to preserve as much history/character of the house including the original pine wood floors, which means that some of the floors are squeaky.

Most of the bedrooms are on the smaller side (except the primary room), ranging from 70 - 80 sq ft. When the trundle beds are pulled out for use, the beds will take up the majority of those rooms. For this reason, we have foldable/collapsible side tables, desks, and chairs which are stored in each room's closet for maximum flexibility.

We have restored and preserved many original items throughout the house - given this, there are several delicate items such as stained glass windows, glass French doors, fireplace mantels, huge pocket doors, antique built-in bookcase, wooden window shutters, etc. - we ask that you please take care to preserve the unique history of this historic DC rowhome while you enjoy your stay in DC!

The primary bedroom upstairs tends to be on the warmer/cooler side during the summer/winter (as it has the most windows). In addition to closing the window shutters and using the ceiling fan, we also provide a large portable air conditioner/heater and large portable fan in the closet, to help circulate air in this room.

🚙 Parking
The parking pad in the back can typically accommodate up to a mid-size SUV / Minivan. Part of the parking pad is underneath the deck posts, which can accommodate a vehicle that is 83 inches wide and 79 inches high.
If you're vehicle does not fit in the parking pad space, there is usually street parking available in the area. Pay attention to all parking signs to avoid tickets!
If you'll have more than one vehicle, there are several paid parking lots 5-7 mins walking distance from the place.

We are unable to accommodate animals other than dogs at this time.

We are a dog friendly property and we have a phenomenal cleaning team but they are human so there is a possibility for human error, if there is an issue during your stay let us know and we will try to address it! Since we are dog friendly, those with severe allergies will need to consider our home’s suitability for their unique needs.

🤫 Quiet Hours
11PM-7AM: You MUST keep noise to a minimum from 11pm to 7am. As a row house the walls are shared with the neighbors. Noise can travel easily, and we are in regular communication with neighbors. We request guests be respectful of the neighbors and quiet hours.

The National Mall, Museums, US Capitol, and White House are all about a 10 min drive or 30 min walk away
The nearest Metro station is about a 7-9 min walk and is the Mt. Vernon/Convention Center Metro Station - this station has yellow and green line trains running directly to Downtown DC, National Mall, Convention Center, Nat's Stadium, Reagan National Airport / DCA and can connect you to all Metro lines to access anywhere you want to go across the city.

Beautiful and Spacious

Perfect for our family of 11. Beautiful and well stocked kitchen. Plenty of bathrooms and we enjoyed the character of this place. Our grandkids even entertained us with some piano music. It was hot in DC and the air conditioning kept up. We could have walked everywhere but because of the heat we ubered and used scooters.

DC stay for ceremony

Great location. We were in town to bury a relative at Arlington. The chef’s kitchen (where we made a baller breakfast) was great for hosting and telling stories of our lost relative. The only limitation is it’s not a super-great neighborhood. Lots of sirens, some questionable figures on nearby street corners. We didn’t have any security issues, just some ‘odd’ visuals per se. The property itselfbeautiful.

We enjoyed having space for our large family of ten. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen provided all amenities. The property was clean and easily accessible. Parking was simple and Alma provided a street pass for our 12 passenger van.

High school trip to DC

We had 9 high school seniors and 4 chaperones and this house was awesome! Clean and in a good location. Hosts were great to work with. We would definitely stay here again if doing a similar trip.

The best

I won't be able to explain how great the place was for our group of 10. We felt there as kings. Many thanks to the host! Kitchen big modern and fully loaded. The leaving room is truly historic! We would LOVE to stay there for much longer but the schedule is really tight. The wooden floor and details were just amazing!
