We had a wonderful experience with this cabin. Eddi was incredible to communicate with. Incredibly minor issues was the bed was not very comfortable for me, but my partner found it to be fine. The kitchen was awesome but it was missing a cookie sheet and/or pizza pan. Many cobwebs around the back porch that we took some time cleaning up, but that was expected. Two great bedrooms even though we only used the one. Would be a great place for a family with just a couple kids. Didn’t get the chance to use the firepit because of weather, but it’s very nice and we will definitely use it next time!

The CO2/fire alarm went off repeatedly--twice in the middle of the night and once in the late afternoon. When I contacted the manager via text and the app, I received totally conflicting messages because AI would answer first, followed by the manager--but this was not communicated to me so it was like dealing with multiple personalities. The manager complained about me following up because they were traveling (!). The issue was never resolved. I asked for a refund and AI said I would receive it and then the manager said I wouldn't. Totally ruined our vacation because I believe the alarm was going off due to CO2 and I had to move my kids to sleep at my sister's and eventually myself as well. Nightmare.

The ad for the location is not correct and it made it difficult for 2 families to stay (still only 6 people, which is the recommended). It reads like there is 2-3 beds per room, but there is only 1 bed in 1 of the rooms and a bunk bed in the other. Also, a day bed in the living room where the hammick is in the pictures. Hammick is no longer there. This made it difficult when we thought we could have parents and kids in the same room. Its more appropriate for 1-2 adults and 2 kids.Overall, the place was clean and cute with a short distance to do the dunes and a day trip to michigan and chicago. I would stay again with less people.

Perfect for a quick trip

What a cute place! We enjoyed this little cabin in the woods. The inside was adorable and my kids loved it. The outside definitely needs a clean up to make the deck/back patio a little more enjoyable. This is located in the middle of the woods so I understand it's not going to be prestine or anything, the exterior just needs a little TLC. When we came back the second night, the outside flood lights did not turn on so it was very dark. This was a bit of a challenge with two super tired kiddos but it was manageable with a light from our cell phone. If you need a fan to sleep like I do, bring a travel fan. The ceiling fans are not operational without a light being on. My kids loved the bunk bed and the little snacks that had been left for us upon arrival. We would definitely stay here again.

It's a beautiful setting. A little smaller than I thought but was perfect. Had most anything you'd need. The beds were very comfy. Loved being out on the deck. Feels very private. Our dog Buddy loved the yard.

Short but Sweet

Overall, the property had all the amenities we needed, was peaceful and just what we were looking for while on our road trip. We were within a short driving distance to the Indiana Dunes. The house was clean. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed. We enjoyed that there were outdoor spaces to relax in, but if there was one critique I could give is the exterior could use a little TLC that should not deter you from staying because overall our family and pup had a really nice stay.

Great getaway!

Annual guys trip for myself and a buddy. Terrific chance to relax and be away from work and kids and catch up with each other. Close to Valparaiso for shopping and food but still feels secluded. Highly recommended!

Great Location, Very Dirty

We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights over the weekend. The location was what we were looking for - in the woods. It was perfect for bonfires and the fall festivities in the area. That being said, we knew we were going into the woods so we figured there would be bugs, spiders, some general uncleanliness of being in a wooded area. But, the lack of cleanliness in the house made us leave almost immediately the last day. I have a three year old nephew who walked barefoot in the house and his feet were black from the first day. The floors were filthy and the bathroom was atrocious. Again e knew we were staying in the woods, but there was nothing even wiped down or dusted. We couldn’t open the windows because of the filth and we had to have the AC on during chilly nights in October because of that. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Nice Place to Stay

I stayed two nights with my 10-year-old daughter. The wooded setting near the lake is nice (though there's no access to the lake); the fire pit in the yard is great; the beds were comfortable (though you might want to bring your own pillow if you like firm); the amenities were just right; and the location between Valparaiso and Indiana Dunes National Park is perfect.

Nice property but not clean

I first entered and put things into the kitchen counter and found that the matt in front of sink had a sticky spot. Wanted to open windows and see the beautiful view but half would not open and they were so dirty that you really could not see much. Mentioned that a keurig was available for use but it had water sitting in it so not usable. Decided to clean the regular coffee maker and found a bug inside. The information about food and delivery was not up to date. We barely had time to unload and sit down for a minute before receiving a text about cleaning before we leave. It was cleaner when I left, than when I arrived. I find it unacceptable to pay a cleaning fee and have to clean up myself.

Easy, Clean, and Scenic

We enjoyed our short stay very much. It was so nice to cook a homecooked meal after eating out for several days while staying in Chicago. We enjoyed having the opportunity to spread out and clean clothes. The area was beautiful and the house was very clean. We spent the evening playing games in the living room as it was spacious enough for all of us.
