Worst experience of our 5week trip - expected more
It started with the standard room we got. The room was directly next to the restaurant, so it was noisy in the morning as well as evening. The room was really simple, with hardly any natural light coming in. There are cats in the restaurants area that jump on chairs and tables. I took video footage of them licking food and drinks that came directly out of the kitchen which was then served to the guests. As I'm also allergic to cats, this was really not enjoyable for me. There was no bed-linen, so it felt uncomfortable and I highly doubt the cleanliness. Hot water was only available after like 10-15minutes of cold running water. (this is no exaggeration; what a n exposure for environment.) The Pool was closed 2 of 3 days because of maintenance....

Tolles Hotel - tolles Personal
Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und auf unser Zimmer begleitet. Das inkludierte Frühstück war sehr lecker. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals, welche ihres gleichen sucht! Wir hatten einen privaten Fahrer gehucht, der uns noch einige Sehenswurdigkeiten zeigte und uns zu unserem nächsten Hotel fuhr. Diese Tour war äußerst interessant. Er gab uns Einblicke in das Leben der balinesen und begleitete uns in den Tempel für eine private Führung. Wir waren begeistert!

Traumhafte Villa für ein paar Tage Entspannung
Die Villa liegt doch etwas weiter ausserhalb als gedacht (gut 15 Minuten, doch es gibt 4x Tag kostenlosen Transfer und ansonsten kostet es auch nur ca 3 Euro)...doch dann wird mit man mit einer traumfhafte kleinen Villa (nur ca.10 Zimmer) belohnt. Es ist einfach herrlich dort ein paar Tage abzuschalten und den ganzen Indonesien-Trubel hinter sich zu lassen. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Nettes Hotel, aber weit weg vom Centrum
Wir hatten das Zimmer Uluwatu. An sich das schönste von allen mit einem Rundblick über Dschungel, Pool und Reisterrassen. Nachteil: das Zimmer liegt im ersten Stockwerk, das Bad jedoch im Erdgeschoss. Das Bad hat in der Tür oben einen offenen Teil, wo Tiere hinein können. Ab und zu ein paar Geckos und eine Ameisenstraße teilten sich das Zimmer mit uns. Außerdem extrem hellhörig, sodass man alles außerhalb hört. Die Hähne fangen um 1 Uhr nachts an zu krähen und schreien ununterbrochen bis zum Morgen. So etwas lautes habe ich nachts noch nie erlebt, selbst Ohrstöpsel bringen dabei nichts.

Loved this place. The staff is so nice and caring. The included breakfast is freshly made and with the surrounding area every morning it is peaceful. The location of this Hotel is ideal, it is close to the main area of Bali, on top of being isolated from the noise of city. It is so quiet at night, the dinning experience after sundown is great with the quiet nights. The room is spacious and very clean. I would stay here no problem again.

Friendly warm welcome. Peaceful location 20min from town centre. Emailed the property twice to book an arrival transfer but had no response. Hotel ended up sending a driver to Seminyak to get us, but didnt tell us, so driver arrived after we'd already checked out with another transfer. Free Ubud town shuttle but didnt tell us that you had to book more than an hour in advance to get a seat. 2 days of cold showers in the Jimbaran room. Was 'repaired' but hot water only lasts 20 seconds. If you are a light sleeper, may also want to ask for the pool water features to be turned off at night.

Thanks for your review. Unfortunately, however, does not correspond to the truth, as we have the copy that we sent you the mail, saying we would have come to pick you up at 1pm in Seminyak. About the shower you told us the night before your departure that there were problems with the hot water. You don't have to reserve anything for the Shuttle. We have 4 free shuttle a day and you only have to inform the front office, as it seems normal to me.

Härligt, enskilt, hotell med ett lugn över sig
Vi hade några riktigt härliga dagar runt Ubud med Hotel Villa Ubud som utgångspunkt. Väldigt bra service och hjälpsam personal dock så saknade vi närhet till andra restauranger och möjlighet till att gå runt i närområdet med två små barn. Maten på hotellet var ok men ett högt prisläge jämfört med motsvarande mat på andra ställen på Bali. Transporten in till Ubud fungerade mycket smidigt!

It was a pleasant and peaceful stay in Hotel Villa Ubud. The ambience surrounding the hotel is so beautifully groomed and well-maintained. Not to forget the friendly staffs (Novi, Nia, Yuni and the rest) who remembers your name and always put a smile on their face to serve your needs. The location of the hotel is quite far from centre of Ubud, so travelling around might be difficult. So, we took the hotel’s motorbike rent service which cost IDR100,000 (around RM30) for a day. Also, there’s one convenient store near the hotel (maybe around 15 minutes walking distance), but there are no restaurants or warungs nearby. If you’re looking for to explore street food, you have to go to centre of Ubud. Overall, it was a relaxing stay. **Bravo for their environmental friendly initiatives like using organic shampoos and shower gels, using clay containers, and etc. **

The hotel was amazing and very picturesque. The only downfall was its location. We were able to hire a scooter from the property which made exploring Ubud easy. It is however at least a 20 minute drive to the centre of Ubud when traffic is not at its heaviest.

Great Experience
We had a fabulous experience at Villa Ubud. With a serene location to escape from it all, this is an inviting and beautiful place. The wait staff (particularly Kadek) and other members were very welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. Excellent breakfast and great location if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay.

Underbart litet hotel en liten bit utanför Ubud. Hotellet har buss in till Ubud flera gånger varje dag. Djungel på ena sidan och risfält på andra. Väldigt trevlig och serviceinriktad personal. Bra frukost. Spa finns. Trevlig pool. Vi bodde i rummet Sanur som det var lite bullrigt från köket och restaurangen i.

le personnel est aimable, super petit déjeuner et jolie piscine MAIS chambre petite sombre; matelas de mauvaise qualité pour un 4 étoiles, pas d'aération dans la salle de bain( odeur d'humidité)et si comme moi vous dépassez les 180 CM baisser la tête( pomme de douche un peu basse ) gros soucis avec le WIFI, frigidaire et clim font du bruit la nuit ainsi que la route passante et la cuisine est juste à coté ( donc pas de grâce matinée, réveillé de très bonne heure ) restauration très bien mais onéreux. Pour les prestations je pense que 30 euros suffit largement et non 50. Propriétaire accueillant , mais dès qu'on lui a dit notre déception plus de contact.. ( bizarre) et une photo pour les besoins des chats en dessous d'une table du resto

Bonjour Patrick, Je ne réponds pas normalement aux avis, mais quand il s'agit de choses inventées, alors oui. C’est toujours la même histoire, on prétend payer peu et avoir les chambres d’un Hotel de Luxe. Je crois que mon prix est raisonnable pour la qualité et le service que l’on donne. Curieusement aucun client ne s'est jamais plaint de cette chambre et s’il y avait dès problèmes suffisait en parler. Mais je sais que c’est plus facile écrire des mauvais review. C’est vrai qu’il y a des chats mes c’est pas la où ils font les besoins. On est Suisse et on connaît l’hygiéne certainement mieux que autre peuples.... Enfin c’est pas vrais que après votre déception nous n'avons plus eu de contact, ce n'est pas mon style! La seule chose exact c’es que la douche est basse, mais je ne crois pas que ça vous change la vie. On a vérifié toutes les autres choses que vous dites et fonctionnes parfaitement. Donc je vous souhaite pour le futur de trouvez un autre hôtel comme le mien à 30$ la nuit avec petit déjeuner.

Beautiful boutique hotel
The hotel is in the most beautiful setting, with rooms spread around the gardens. The service was excellent, with small personal touches, such as guests remembering your name. We loved the friendly ambience, the peace, the pool, the yoga overlooking the rice fields and the complimentary shuttle service, which made getting into Ubud easy.

Het is een kleinschalig complex. Wel mooi en zeer net complex met zwembad. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is goed, maar niet bijzonder uitgebreid. De dag voor het ontbijt dient een formulier ingevuld te worden. Voor cappuccino oid dient extra betaald te worden. Het complex ligt 15 tot 30 minuten van ubud af. Het hotel heeft 4x daags (tot ca. 18.30 uur) een gratis transfer. Een taxi in de avobd terug kost tussen de 100.000 en 150.000 idr. Al met al gezien vonden wij de prijs wat aan de hoge kant gezien de ligging en de kamer/faciliteiten.

We are 3 km far from central Ubud and we have 4 free shuttle a day, and we should be cheaper about that? Being away from hustle and bustle is our strenght. In our breakfast, balinese and coffee is included in the price, obviously if you want imported coffee, cappuccino and espresso (Illy coffee) we will charge a fair price. What's wrong to asking to fill a form for breakfast? Nothing, we know exactly what the guest want , without having more waste and everything is fresh! Regards

Superbe hôtel au milieu de la végétation. Chambre très spacieuse avec une très belle piscine. Personnel très agréable et sympathique. Peu de chambre ce qui en fait un endroit très sympa pour être au calme. Un bel endroit à découvrir.

Great hotel and experience in the center of ubud which offered a lot of culture and a beautiful look into Bali. Hotel staff and food was amazing and provided excellent service the entire time we were there! Rooms were also beautiful, only wish that got colder than what they did, aside from that everything was amazing.

Would have been great except ....
Villa Ubud has well manicured gardens tended with love by a wiry Balinese man who speaks little and does his job with professional precision. I was very impressed by the local Balinese staff, especially Ulandari from the front desk and Agung who was both driver/housekeeping staff. They went out of their way to help me and treated me with respect. Another staff to appreciate, the chef labouring in the kitchen. Her nasi goreng was absolutely delicious. My favorite place in the property was the yoga bale with it’s steep high pagoda-styled roof. There one can practice yoga and meditation accompanied by the natural sounds of the stream and birds. This would have been a perfect holiday except for the room. I was given a room just next to the entrance. The traffic noise is relentless. Very often, loud bursts as motorcyclists rev their machines. I came to this remote place to enjoy peace and quiet and not this noise. I immediately asked for a room change and was given a room next to the kitchen and dining room, definitely a downgrade in terms of appointment. I presumed the hotel was full and I had no choice so I accepted the quieter option. A little later on that first day, I realized that there was only 1 other occupant. Many other rooms similar in size to the first one were still available but not offered to me. Maybe the commission to Hotel.com was a consideration? Or was it something else? Despite the natural beauty and the awesome local staff, would I come back? Nahhh

Dear "Anonymous"....., thank you for your review. You booked our standard room, wich is actually close to the road, but there are 3 walls before the road, i think therefore it is not so noisy. After your complaining we move to another standard room. All the others rooms are not similar, are Deluxe and Suite, so bigger than the standard. It was enough to ask if it was possible an Upgrade and at what price, seen and considered that the price of your category was much lower. Regards

Relaxing retreat away from there crowds
The resort is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful landscaping and huge rooms built in true Balinese style. Everything is clean and modern and managed by a sweet lady from France. Apparently, the owner is from Switzerland and was away for the holidays. Best of all, the resort cat just had kittens a couple of months before we arrived. The sweet little kitties really livened up our breakfast as they played under the Christmas tree. And if you’re not a cat lover, the resort staff are nice enough to squirrel them away into their office. Overall, best resort ever (especially with 5 cats to entertain you)

Food terrible, probably a bit exaggerated, nobody has never ever complained of quality, indeed...and it's not at all expensive, of course we are not a warung, but our prices are very fair.

Amazing Stay
We had outstanding 5 nights stay at Hotel Villa Ubud. The hotel is located in a peaceful and quiet area of Ubud away from the noise (~15 mins from centre Ubud). Shuttle is available on a schedule for trips to Centre Ubud and also for a small fee depending on the distance. The hotel is relatively small and intimate and surrounded by lush greenery and rice paddies. The rooms are charming with traditional Balinese accents. The staff is the true definition of the Balinese hospitality; friendly and attentive to our every need. The romantic dinner was a success and beautifully decorated overlooking the rice paddies. They went above and beyond to make our vacation memorable. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and would gladly return.

Beautiful, peaceful retreat outside of Ubud
We can't say enough about our time at Hotel Villa Ubud. This place is a beautiful, peaceful retreat not far from Ubud. We wanted to get away from things, and this was the perfect place to do it. The room we had was spacious and secluded, and we loved falling asleep to the sound of all the rain, frogs, and insects singing every night. The pool is an added bonus. There are not many rooms (10 I think), but the hotel still offers free breakfast every day and a restaurant open for both lunch and dinner. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly, and we ended up dining at the restaurant almost every night we were there. Kardik at the restaurant was fantastic in his service and ability to make us feel at home. We had originally only reserved for 6 nights but extended 2 more nights. My fiancee loved playing with the resident kittens who were always out and about wanting to play. We set up day trips with drivers on the days we wanted to leave or just took the hotel's free shuttle into Central Ubud when we wanted to leave the property. Being central to Ubud might sound convenient, but most of the things you will want to see are not far from villa ubud, so the location is actually quite good. I highly recommend a stay here.

Nice hotel outside Ubud
I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room and dining pavilion were nice and the staff were helpful. The shuttle into Central Ubud was also good - however one going back to the hotel around 8.30 would be nice. The yoga shala was also nice - but the classes were too expensive for me.

Hôtel situé dans les rizières, au calme à une quinzaine de minutes des nuisances et de la circulation d'Ubud, mais point de départ idéal pour visiter avec un véhicule les sites les plus intéressants des environs. Le cadre est magnifique et verdoyant. La piscine et le pool sont entourés d'arbres et de fleurs exotiques entretenus chaque jours !! le restaurant surplombe le jardin et la piscine et il offre d'excellents repas pour des prix plus que raisonnables vu le cadre. Les chambres et suites sur les hauteurs sont au niveau des rizières qui entoure ce bel hôtel au bon rapport qualité-prix.

Peaceful Oasis
Had a lovely stay 2 night stay at Villa Ubud with my mother. We stayed in the signature room and the views were beautiful. We had our own private balcony which overlooked the rice fields. This hotel would not suit those who want to be in the hustle and bustle of Ubud centre but those who want to have a relaxing break in the middle of rice fields. The free shuttle bus is a great perk which allows you to experience the city centre when needed. Staff were fantastic. The gardens were amazing we were in awe of the tasteful selection of plants and trees and the colour combinations. Lastly they have yoga matts and a beautiful pagoda overlooking the rice fields where you may practice.

We hadden twee Signature kamers geboekt. Check-in verliep goed. Eenmaal bij de kamer viel er één ontzettend tegen. De eigenlijke slaapkamer lag op de eerste verdieping terwijl de badkamer op de begane grond was. Dat betekende 's nachts in het donker de trap op en af terwijl het niet geheel overdekt was. Niet prettig om voor elk gebruik van toilet of kraan op en neer te moeten, zeker niet als het regende. Dit was overigens nergens aangeven. Bij deze, vermijd de Uluwatu kamer! Badkamer was een donker hok met muffe geur. Kamer zelf was groot maar slecht ingericht en ontzettend donker. Ongelooflijk veel loze ruimte. Zonde van de 75 vierkante meter. Ontbijt 's ochtends is à la carte. Porties waren zeer karig. Toen we om een paar sneetjes extra brood vroegen wilde ze dit gelijk in rekening brengen! Dit zijn we nergens anders in Bali tegengekomen. In tegendeel, ze vragen juist of je niet meer wilt. Zwembad is prima en achter het hotel kun je door de rijstvelden wandelen. Avondeten in het restaurant ging wel. Hotel is, ondanks de kleine afstand, wel een half uurtje rijden van Ubud.

Secluded and relaxing
We hired a motorcycle from reception and rode through villages and all around Ubud. Afterwards we relaxed by the pool ate beautiful meals in the villas restaurant and went to bed ready to do it all again the following day.

An oasis far from the madding crowds
The grounds are tastefully landscaped and the rooms Balinese style. The staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. The rooms are spotlessly clean, fresh bed linen every day. Lovely breakfast in tranquil surroundings. You could not fault this place even if you wanted to. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Very satisfied
We chose the suite. Private bathroom, that was new, in perfect condition, but outside of the room (ground floor, while the room was the whole first floor). The room itself was nice and clean. The only problem was that it was not fully isolated from the 5am sound of the cocks. Located about 15 minutes by car (provided for free by hotel at scheduled times, four times a day, drop and pick up near Ubud Palace) from the city center.
