Die etwas andere Übernachtung
Nur etwa 20 Minuten vom Besucherkomplex des Kennedy Space Centers liegt das Casa Coquina. Es ist leicht zu finden, einen Block von der Hauptstraße entfernt. Mit dem Betreten des Grundstücks fühlt man sich irgendwie in die 1950er Jahre am Mittelmeer zurückversetzt. Die Deko ist reichlich, aber in sich konsistent. Wir wurden nett begrüßt und bekamen eine Führung durch das ganze Haus. Es gibt eine kleine Bar, wo man sich auch kostenfrei am Kühlschrank mit Getränken bedienen darf. Die Aussichtsterrasse ist sicherlich toll, wenn gerade ein Raketenstart stattfindet. Die Ausrichtung passt zumindest, man schaut direkt auf die Startrampen (in einiger Entfernung). Die Zimmer sind optisch recht altmodisch eingerichtet, aber wirklich komfortabel. Eine nette Abwechslung gerade zu den typischen Kettenhotels, auch wenn die Plastik-Weinranken an den Rohren im ersten Moment etwas ungewohnt erschienen. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, das Bad auch. Die Badewanne/Dusche sind sehr clever in das alte Gemäuer integriert, so dass auch keine Stockflecken zu sehen waren. Gleich bei Ankunft gab es Tipps zum Essen gehen, ein gutes (und gut besuchtes) Restaurant ist direkt daneben. Auch beim Frühstück gab es eine gute Auswahl warmer und kalter Speisen, Kaffee, Tee und frische Früchte. Kurz: Im Casa Coquina kann man gut auch mehrere Nächte verbringen, was uns leider nicht vergönnt war, denn das Kreuzfahrtschiff wartete schon...

Außergewöhnlich liebevoll eingerichtet, Topf Servi
Sehr liebenswerter Empfang am Hotel. Frischer EisTee, Wasser und später auch Bier und Wein kostenlos bereit gestellt. Detailgetreue Einrichtung der Zimmer mit Themengebieten. Schöne Terrasse mit Blick auf die Spacecoast und das Kennedy Space Center. Tolles Frühstück. Ich empfehle ein Zimmer mit Blick zum Wasser da an der Hinterseite eine Bahnlinie verläuft. Alle 2 Stunden kommt der Zugführer nicht drum herum kräftig und anhaltend auf sich aufmerksam zu machen. Das war ein wenig grausam.

Als eine etwas andere Unterkunft
Ein leckeres Frühstück und die allabendliche "social hour" an der Knabbereien, Bier und diverse Weine offeriert werden, runden das Angebot der tollen Gastgeber ab. Von der für alle Gäste zugänglichen Terasse aus geniesst man einen tollen Ausblick auf die NASA Raketenabschussrampen und einen allfälligen Raketenstart lässt sich von dort aus hervorragend beobachten - dazu steht auch ein Teleskop zur Verfügung.

Mal etwas anderes aber unglaublich schön!
Man merkt, dass die Eigentümer Gen und Dennis dieses so liebevoll eingerichtete Hotel mit Leidenschaft betreiben. Es mag auf den ersten Blick etwas komisch wirken, aber wenn man die Einrichtung im Detail betrachtet, ist alles extrem hochwertig. Das Haus ist bereits 1927 gebaut, also darf man auch nicht zuviel erwarten - es ist klar nicht mit einem Marriot oder Hilton zu vergleichen. Dafür bekommt man etwas ganz individuelles und sehr einzigartiges. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker uns absolut ausreichend. Zudem gibt es Abends täglich social Events mit der Gelegenheit ganz ungezwungen im "Wohnzimmer" mit andere Gästen im Haus in Kontakt zu kommen. Von der Dachterrasse hat man einen unglaublichen Blick über den Indian River direkt hinüber zum Kennedy Space Center. Während unseres Aufenthaltes hatten wir sogar das Glück, einen Raketenstart der Atlas V zu beobachten. Ein sehr beeindruckender Event. Alles in allem, kann ich das Hotel absolut empfehlen!

Nostalgie pur
Ein äußerst liebevoll geführtes, familiäres Hotel. Jeden Tag werden zum Frühstück süße Sachen gebacken, es duftet im ganzen Haus nach Zimt. Wenn dann das nostalgische Signalhorn eines vorbeifahrenden Zuges ertönt, glaubt man tatsächlich, die Zeit ist seit vielen Jahrzehnten stehen geblieben. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt.

Als einfaches und preiswertes B&B gebucht und im Museum gelandet mit den liebenswürdigsten Gastgebern unseres ganzen Urlaubs.Das ganze Haus ist mit unzähligen kleinen und großen Antiquitäten und Skurrilitäten eingerichtet. Ginny und ihr Mann sind wie der Geist aus der Flasche! Das beste Frühstück auf 21 Tage Rundreise! Haben nach Strandempfehlung vor Ort spontan um eine Nacht verlängert. Wer also Abwechslung von 08/15 Hotel/Motels sucht ist hier richtig. Pool nicht direkt am Hotel/Hottube ausser Funktion. Dafür Dachterasse und Gratis Getränke. Schlafen im Musseum;ein tolles Erlebnis. This property is so beautiful! Take a ride back in time! Beautiful antiques, very unique rooms and amazing friendly staff! We enjoyed having you stay with us. The Topaz suite is done in Oriental decor and may seem a bit darker with Oriental Mystery! All of our suites are different and unique so some are very light and airy. The bath in the Topaz is private to that suite and is a standard tub/shower combination with toilet and sink. We have a guest refrigerator in the library and a guest microwave on the first floor. We hope to see you again!

An interesting unique stay but not great. Positives: location for the space center and good food next door in the Mexican restaurant. I am sorry you were not completely satisfied Lynda as we work very hard to please our guests. You visited for two nights and did not tell us there was anything you did not care for or we would have tried to correct it. This is the first time anyone has said the Opal beds were creaky, but we will certainly check it out. We have Zebra blinds on every window which can be adjusted to allow maximum light or very little. But the Blue and white decor of this suite does give a light, airy appearance which many love. Most Bed and Breakfasts do not offer menu service. In fact I have never seen one that does. However, we always have fresh fruit salad, yogurts, bread for toasting and cereals as well as our homemade dishes. There is always a pastry dish, an egg entree, ham or sausage juices, coffee and tea. We also will always make special dishes to accommodate diet restrictions and allergies. We get great reviews on our breakfast offerings.I am also happy that you were able to enjoy two rocket launchs during your stay with us. I wish you happy travels in the future.

A True Bed & Breakfast Experience
So much to say about this great B & B. I love to stay at unique places and only do hotels when there is no other option. We were on a girls weekend to do the Mammoth March on Christmas so this was just 20 minutes away. The personal attention to us, specifically with going above and beyond packing us to go breakfasts ( 1 was even GF because of my daughter ) when Shelley heard we would miss breakfast because of our early race time. The hot tub was ready but we didn't get to use cause we were too tired unfortunately. We were in the Black Pearl which is huge... the beds were very comfortable and the use of the fridge in the hall was a bonus. Everyone was super friendly, even the guests. I know that if we do the run again next year we are definitely staying here again and if we can work on a launch inbetween we shall be back for that too. Can't wait to come back to the Coquina ❤️

Old time charm
We chose this while visiting Kennedy Space Center. From the balcony you can see it across the water. It is 1927 charm. Somewhat quirky but comfortable, clean and quiet. Nothing fancy here but very happy we made the choice.

Accidental booking turned into the perfect getaway
It was a beautiful place. The owner was very accommodating. I actually booked it on accident and decided to stay anyway because of the "homey" feel and vibe. The staff was very personable and friendly. We were in the largest room on the third floor and it was like we were the only ones there. There was a beautiful garden, koi pond and balcony overlooking the river. An awesome restaurant in walking distance. Highly recommend 😊

I am sorry you chose to rate us a 2 as you did not actually stay with us. You knowingly booked a third floor suite in Our historic building knowing there was no elevatorYour relative called furious saying you could not manage our “extremely steep stairs”. Our stairs are standard pitch with hand railsBecause she then indicated that you had mobility issues I offered to split your party of 4 adults and 2 children into 2 suites with one suite on the first floor, at our expenseThat generous offer was refused i wish you happy travels in the future

I am glad that you enjoyed the great breakfast and loved our staff. WE work very hard to keep the Casa clean and updated while retaining the historical aspects of the building. My husband and I have temporarily located our office space in a corner of the bar to make it easy to greet guests. We are working on moving that to another space!

Great B&B to stay at prior to our cruise departure in Port Canaveral. Our family of five stayed in the Black Pearl on the third floor, which worked out well with plenty of room for all of us. It is located on the third floor, so it was tough to bring the luggage up, but we got it up there and it was fine. They do offer shuttle service to the port, but we didn't know when we booked, so just know that if you are looking for a "stay and park" Casa Coquina offers a ride to the port, so call them directly if you are interested. Definitely recommend this place if wanting a comfortable stay!

This property is very unique and reasonably priced. The building dates back to the 1920's and houses an exquisite collection of old metal and wood trucks and other toys, to name a few. The bed in our room, was very comfortable and the bathroom was quaint but comfy also, with a claw foot tub/shower. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was de-lish! We will definitely be back!!

We loved Casa Coquina!! My husband and I spent the night here before leaving out for a cruise from Port Canaveral. The house was so unique and the stay was super enjoyable. Breakfast was great and it's such a convenient location for cruising.
