This was a newly renovated suite which was lovely and clean inside the palace walls. Well equipped kitchenette and lounge area. We stayed 5 nights but there was no full length wardrobe space for dresses and mattress and pillows were very firm but my husband preferred this. The en-suite was a bit squashed. Clean towels/linen are available in cabinet outside room. It’s 50 euros from airport for taxi. You also have to pay 20 euros on arrival for Expedia to clean apartment for when you leave plus the city tax. Deni was very helpful arranging help with taxis and luggage as lots of old steps in palace. You need codes for the doors as the electronic card did not work outside the room. We went on buses and catamaran trips as based in port which was very convenient. There are hundreds of tourists in Split every day from cruise ships so eating out is sometimes a chore due to lack of space in the better restaurants. There is a good Spar shop nearby as you will need bin bags, water, food essentials etc and alcohol is very expensive in the restaurants. There was a good fridge but no freezer section to make ice cubes. We also endured lots of mosquito bites unfortunately despite taking precautions. The apartment was an excellent base and air conditioning great if you keep the windows shut. We enjoyed our holiday and the apartment and used WhatsApp to keep in touch with owners as no reception.
