The Aloft has a number of good qualities - close to the beach and sunset warungs, an IDR13,000 Grab bike ride to Canggu, and only a 20ish minute walk down the beach to Potato Head etc. The property has been well maintained throughout Covid, including cleanliness. Reception team friendly and helpful. Nice touches include the filtered drinking water dispenser on each floor, selection of bathroom amenities, and no mucking around with making WiFi passwords work across devices. The f&b are pricey, as you'd expect from a Marriott, but the warungs on the beach just 5 minutes away would be pleased to see you for meals and drinks. The only improvements I'd recommend are additional sunshine lounge chair seating options (remove some of the table and chairs down the side, there isn't much restaurant traffic to warrant all those empty places) and to turn the pool temperature up 2-3 degrees. I watched 4 females walk to the pool, put a toe in, then return promptly to their chairs. Haha, I was #5. No sense in having a pool that's cold. But would happily stay again. Ask for a room at the back, the garden view is interesting.
