My wife and I enjoyed our most relaxing vacation in years during our three night stay at Serene by the Sea. We particularly enjoyed being able to swim and snorkel from the small beach right off the dock. Chef Emile prepared us a fabulous surf and turf meal one evening, which was most enjoyable. The ease of access to the airport, the availability of parking, and the proximity to Mangel Halto and Baby Beaches all made my so glad I steered clear of the Eagle Beach hotel zone. We can't wait to return!

The property is perfect for a quiet break! Loved sitting overlooking sea glass island for breakfast every day. The included breakfast was very nice. Swim area is small but sandy bottom went out far enough to be shoulders deep in water. Plenty of chairs, beds and outdoor seating to spend a lazy day among palms. A few excellent restaurants were close to walk to. Adding to our must go again list.

When we checked in we got a room that smelt really strongly like sewer/poop. We mentioned it to them we got moved rooms but we got told “only for 3 nights and then we have to move you back to this room”, which we were not ok with so we decided to leave to another hotel. The next room we were in must have been attached to the water source/garden hose because all we could hear was running water and clanking usually starting around 5 am. Not very relaxing on vacation to be woken up by that every morning. Make sure you rent a car if you stay here because there is no other way to get around and virtually impossible to walk anywhere. The waterfront itself is very nice though.

Just what we were looking for
Serene by the sea was just what we were looking for, a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of tourism. Chef was awesome, friendly and informative...and made great open face omeletes every morning. Sea life right at the dock...crabs and plenty of fish, and iguanas living under the deck would come out and say hello. Great stay, great chef, great resort.

The bad: The bedding was stained and dingy. Pillows stained and worn. The mini fridge was not clean. Shower curtain fell off the wall when we touched it. Reported to staff but never fixed. The good: Beautiful views, on the water, some new cabana lounges, great breakfast included, quiet. Snorkel gear and kayaks available to enjoy. We were booked for 3 nights but left0 1 after two due to the room and bed.

Serene 6789 Serene by the Sea is truly a special place in this crazy world. It is family owned & run. The family & staff are the most lovely & gracious hosts. Directly on a water with a small beach, protected by natural barrier- snorkeling, swimming, kayaking are all great fun here. There are plenty of lounge chairs and a few comfy hammocks. The breakfast in the morning is delicious. Freshly made by a kind hearted chef with a giant reverence for the fish & his iguana friends. He can prepare a delicious lunch & dinner if you ask him ahead of time for a private meal. The rooms are sparkling clean, simple and supplied with fluffy beach towels, snorkeling masks, towels, refrigerator, ac( TV too) simple & exactly what you need. We would recommend a car-- the wonderful manager Reno made arrangements for us. We took a cab ride from airport that cost $38- Airport 10 minutes away. However, if you simply want to chill and stay put- there are two restaurants next door & grocery store down the road. Or bring home food and dine on the gorgeous deck overlooking the ocean. Serene is a quiet, peaceful intimate place- we made some great friends. We would return to Aruba just to stay here & decompress. This place is very unique, so special. Very hard to leave. Thank you Serene by the Sea for everything.

This place was wonderful. The owners are a family. They are around all the time and really care about how you are doing. This is on the quiet non-tourist side of the island. They have a chef who makes you omelets in the morning in a cabana right on the water. This place is a hidden gem and will definitely be our place to stay when returning to Aruba.

Amazing family hotel! Not superfancy, but it has an incredible warmth. Chef will show you his sea aquarium, Roberto the iguana will wave at you from a safe distance and the kayaks are ready to be taken for a ride. Or just chill in one of the hammocks or sun beds! Nice restaurants just minutes away by foot, or they can arrange a private dinner in the hotel just for you.

A beautiful and relaxing place to stay for a while! This small and basic family run and owned property is right on the water located on the quiet side of Aruba. Serene by The Sea has wonderful views, warm waters to enjoy swimming or water-craft, and very friendly and helpful staff and owners. Two of the best restaurants on Aruba are a few minutes walk away. Recommended without hesitation!

There are many things to like about this property. While it is not luxurious, it is very nice. The room was very clean and the bedding was very comfortable. There is cable TV in the room. Parking is available in front and the surrounding area is quiet and safe. A nice breakfast is served every morning 8 - 10 with outdoor seating waterfront. There are kayaks and snorkel masks available to use free of charge. The owners were all super friendly and welcoming. The outdoor common areas could use a little TLC but overall a very pleasant stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Serene by the Sea and can't wait to return. The large suite was good for our family of 4, including a kitchen that met our needs. We loved being right, right, right on the water at an affordable price; having tasty breakfasts made and hosted by friendly Elisé, who's part of the family that owns the inn, and chatting with other family members; and being able to borrow things we needed (snorkel masks, kayaks, life jackets, beach chairs, beach towels). I'd recommend a car to fully explore the island.

The staff was welcoming and friendly. The property was authentic and one got a real feel of the Aruba life, this was a plus on our part. The location was away from all the hustle and bustle of the tourist area again another plus on our part. You definitely need a car if you plan to stay here. The beautiful baby beach was a short car ride away. The room could use more upgrade, i.e. bedding, towels, mattress. Also the shower could have been cleaner. Given attention to these matters this place has the potential to be exceptional. Our best to this lovely family.

You Should Stay Here...
This cozy family-owned hotel was absolutely amazing. I would stay here again and again and again. It is off the beaten path, and right on the beach. It is quiet, relaxing and the food was good. It's a short drive to Baby Beach and you can walk to Zeerovers (eat there!).

A perfect place for a quiet, small place right on the sea. The owners treated us like family. Elise is a great chef and prepared made to order breakfast each day. He also prepared an amazing surf and turf dinner for a good price. If you want lots of tourists nearby, this is the wrong end of the island. However, if you want intimate and quiet with great beaches a few kilometers away, this is a great choice.

This family owned and run hotel is perfection. They made us feel welcome and part of their home while we there. They have snorkels and kayaks at no additional cost. You have a home cooked breakfast every morning on the water and access to the outdoor kitchen if your like me and get up super early and NEED your coffee fix. This place has everything you need for amazing trip. LOOK NO FURTHER!

This is a boutique and very personal attentive hotel. Absolutely love it. The space, the scenery was beautiful, the personal interaction with everyone. They made every accommodation we requested. Perfectly off the tourist area but close enough to all attractions the island has.

They treat you like family. Awesome place. The chef makes a good breakfast and you can have a private dinner by the water at sunset. We didn't have a car and the owner ran us to the store. I would recomend renting a car.

A hidden diamond, an enchanting experience, amazing family, feel free to be in a free spirit on your own private island experience. In a judgment free zone, where the importance of family prevails.. the local experience is to me more of an interesting experience than in the resort venue.. Serene by the Sea is still in the making with an undercover presence.. I was warmly welcomed by Reno who was outside waiting for us as we arrived! Every morning fresh coffee awaits and Chef Elise awaits eagerly to make breakfast for you. The Owner Desiree a lovely down to earth soul, provides even more VIP experiences, I had an excellent pedicure on site they also provide massages,, Blanca did my pedicure very relaxing on the premises. Aimee and his wife Alicia were charming couple! Aimee makes sure your having Fun and can recommend local places to dine and visit! The rooms are spotless and the views are breathtaking! You can even dine on the premises with chef Elise the food was excellent with local flavors fresh from the sea! Momma also was elegant and kind I had a hard time leaving my puppy behind and was so happy to have family pets around I personally was able to engage with Luna who is a sweet and loving and if your scratch her back she dances and bingo I absolutely love this Pitty made my trip and Puppy who has so much energy so cute! I best restaurants are located right in walking distance and there is all you need right there beach kayaks etc. you can chose to engage or just Be.

The B&B is very private and quiet. Cleanliness of the beach is not great, primarily because of the dogs ( seen lots of poop on the beach area). The rooms are OK. Service is interesting. The B&B is operated by a family. They take care of breakfast in the morning (which we barely had). The food offered is very basic - toast, coffee, peanut butter, eggs. It is mostly self service. I don’t recommend having dinner there as the food wasn’t great. The restaurant next door (Fishbone) is amazing.

Serene by the Sea truly made my vacation experience. If you're interested in a little less glamour & a little more authenticity, island vibe... then this is the perfect place for you. Serene is family owned so everyone was incredibly friendly & welcoming. It's in the non-tourist area of town so less crowded, quiet and many areas for relaxing by the water. There are 2 restaurants within walking distance, grocery stores within a 5 min driving distance and San Nicholas/Baby Beach within a 15 min drive. I didn't travel North much, only when I wanted to do the touristy things but it was only a 30 min (very easy) drive. I've recommended this place to all of my friends and family! I would definitely stay here again.

We loved the beach front, snorkeling areas, how peaceful the area is and the friendly staff. The property is close to the airport, super markets and Baby Beach

Lugar muito legal, atendimento familiar. Você se sente em casa. E basta dar uns poucos passos do quarto para entrar na água. Boa infraestrutura de apoio (sofás, cadeiras, redes) à beira-mar.

The setting right on a lagoon with crystal clear Caribbean water is just spectacular. It is a charming little Bed and Breakfast type hotel with the friendliest staff I have ever met. They are all part of the family who owns the hotel. The rooms are simple but brand new and sparkling clean. I believe they all have ocean views. Hotel provides kayaks and snorkel gear to explore the beautiful sea right off the patio of the hotel. It is walking distance to the famous Zeerover seafood restaurant and Flying Fishbone restaurant. We found the place to be very relaxing and we look forward to coming back. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

A small Bed and Breakfast situated on the water was indeed serene. Run by a welcoming warm Aruban family we felt very much at home. If you enjoy Nature you relax , swim and dine ( we bought take out for lunch and dinner some days) with the resident birds, small crabs, tiny lizards, an Iguana family and sweet dogs on the dock with watercraft going by occasionally...small tropical fish in the waters beneath... it was wonderful..

Beach Front with Turtles and Sunset Dinner
This is a wonderful, small family run operation. Great breakfast in the morning, right by the ocean. Elise cooked a wonderful sunset dinner for us. It's in the "non tourist" area of Aruba (if there is one any more) and was very quiet. Walking distance to two great restaurants, several small convenience stores, and of course, the beach is right there! Turtles every morning, kayaks to use...the family was very gracious and attentive to every detail.

Great find off the beaten path...
Great spot away from the main stream resorts but not too far away! So happy we chose this place it was a memorable experience... It's small just 4 units right now, quiet, great spacious room with fridge, wifi, amazing ocean and sunset views! The ocean is just steps away from every room and breakfast is included and served right on the oceans' edge. The family that owns the resort is amazing. They make you feel like family from the time you arrive to the time you leave. They go out of the way to make sure you have everything you need. We rented a car with turned out to be great. We found several amazing restaurants and some great local art spots plus we were able to hit up our favorite spots in Oranjestad as well. If you are looking for some quiet and serenity try this place .... You can still enjoy all that Aruba has to offer even off the beaten path! Can't wait until our next visit!

We highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a great experience. They truly want to make your stay enjoyable. A big thank you to Reno for giving us several suggestions for where to eat dinner. Zeerover’s, Flying Fishbone, Kamini’s Kitchen and O’Neil Caribbean Kitchen were some of the best food we ever had. Elise, thank you for the wonderful breakfast you cooked each day. If you are looking to be treated like one of the family and to enjoy Aruba away from the big crowds in town, this is the place to stay. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.
