Eines der besten Motels in denen ich je in den USA war. Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet, trotz Lage an einer Kreuzung mitten in San José, angenehm ruhig. Die Mitarbeiter/Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Sehr viele Restaurants und Bars bzw. Cafés in der näheren Umgebung.

Motel-Style
Das Flamingo ist, wie man sich ein Motel vorstellt. Man hat alles auf dem Zimmer, was man braucht - auch eine Microwelle, einen Kühlschrank, ein Bügelbrett. Angenehm sind die Cafés in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Es ist kein feines Hotel, sondern eher ein cooler Platz zum Abhängen.

Unauffälliges Hotel
Unauffälliges Hotel, aber trotzdem in gutem Zustand. Zimmer ist blitzsauber und trotzdem es an einer lauten Strasse liegt nachts erstaunlich ruhig. Dass es kein Frühstück gibt ist kein Nachteil, da auf der gegenüberliegenden Strassenseite Bäckerei und Kaffee sind.

Direkt am Bahnhof
Wir sind von hier zum 49er Game mit der Bahn. Die Idee sollte man verwerfen da die Bahnen super selten fahren und am Ende fast so teuer sind wie ein Parkplatz am Stadion... Hotel ist ok aber ich wüsste nicht warum man in der Gegend absteigen sollte.

This is a basic motel without extra frills. That said, the towels and sheets were spotless. The room was clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I wanted to check in early, they had a room ready, so they had no problem with my request. There are many dining options. There is a pancake house with an excellent breakfast, a bakery with lovely selections and outdoor seating and a 5 Guys across the street as well as Starbucks and a Mexican restaurant. It is walking distance to the train station which was important to me. I had a very comfortable stay.

We walked to the SAP center, (about a 15 min walk). Going back to the Motel from the concert there was a guy walking about 20 feet in front of us yelling, screaming and talking to himself. Felt kinda unsafe. Saw a couple of homeless people too, but they minded their on business for the most part. Not many people from the concert was walking in our direction, people started to split apart form us about halfway through our walk back to the Motel. Property is everything you expect a Motel to be. Our room was clean for the most part, there was some women’s hair on the sheets. Phone didn’t work. We called front desk with our cell phone cause one of our night stands wasn’t working, maintenance came right away. It’s on a busy street so you’ll hear a lot of traffic in the morning which woke me up.

The convenience of the location was great since it was walking distance to the SAP Center. It was a clean comfortable room. Flamingo Motel is nicely situated in many good eating areas.

We are repeat customers. We like the fact that we can walk to almost anything. Lots of food choices. Coffee and pastries across the street. We even walked down to San Pedro and ate some BBQ and checked out the Tiki Bar Dr Funk. We also bike and the location is awesome. We did have to wait a while for hot water but it finally showed up. The place is quiet and fairly priced. We will be back.

It is a close walk to SAP center (0.5 miles).There's a great place to get coffee in the morning.Bed was comfortable, but top sheet was worn with a few holes,chair's seat by desk was badly worn.No hand towels, but they did bring them and wash cloth.Nice to have a refrigerator with a feezer and microwave.Manager was very friendly and eager to help.They have updated alot, but it is an old MOTEL.Very reasonable price for the night.

Really liked that it was a family operated hotel. Very nice manager? with school age girls which made me feel safe in the area. They also recognized us at the hotel a few doors down when we walked by - not sure if they manage both. Comfortable bed - microwave and fridge a plus for the price. Room could have been a little cleaner. Rooms need to be updated but not a biggie for the price. Overall a great stay! Great location! My only recommendation would be to clean behind and around the furniture - more thorough cleaning can sometimes make a difference.

Great option for budget travelers
I stay at this motel when visiting friends. It’s convenient to downtown and easy to get to the highway, restaurants and grocery stores. The family that runs the hotel is very accommodating and pleasant. They easily find solutions to issues and don’t look at you suspiciously whenever something comes up. It’s a basic motel so don’t expect any fancy stuff, but it’s clean, generally safe and even includes a mini fridge and microwave. If you’re on a budget, and all the stuff noted above interests you, I highly recommend staying at this motel. I doubt you’ll find anything better for the price.

Priced affordably. A little run down but not uncomfortable. Was given a room that had not yet been cleaned, but the staff responded quickly to assign another room and was helpful during the stay. Several dinning choices within minutes walking. Free parking and a very quick drive to downtown.

Exactly what it needs to be
We stayed here for one night as we were going to a concert at the SAP Center. It was a great location, simple room with basic amenities. The remote was dirty with stuck on food, so that made us question the cleanliness but everything else was in order and clean. It was exactly what it needed to be, just would be nice if they took a wet wipe to the remote after each visitor. That just makes us wonder what else wasn't wiped down. Definitely check out Uncle John's waffle house, kitty corner from the motel for breakfast, it was fantastic!

Comfortable bed and pillow. That about ends the positives. Shower did not get very hot, loud street noise at 3 am, and staff not there during normal hours (8 am) to address key that stopped working so could not use several hours I paid for.

Time to change some issues
The mattress needs to be changed. It reeks of urine. Room service is pouring bleach in the toilet to mask the smell of the mattress. Also, the hotel has an issue with homeless people sleeping and or congregating near the rooms. I found this out when I left the hotel at 5 am to see a homeless person nearby drinking water with sugar in it from the cart that cleans the rooms

Thank You for your Stay with us, We will certainly talk to our housekeeping staff and check the mattress, We never had an issue with homeless people at our property. Even though we did not have any issues we do our best to keep our property clean and safe for our guests.
