Sehr freundlicher Empfang und sehr freundliches Personal. Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand. Es liegt etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums, dieses ist jedoch innerhalb weniger Gehminuten erreichbar. Unser Zimmer war für 2 Personen sehr klein, das Bett nur 120x180cm gross. Dafür gibt es eine grosse Terasse und einen Garten zur gemeinsamen Nutzung.

We moved this place, from its location right across the beach, to the decor and service. The place is spotless and the room’s decor and furnishing were top notch. Comfortable beds and the perfect view. Our room led to a mini jacuzzi and it was perfect for relaxing after a day full of tours and activities. Rebekka and the while staff were very kind, diligent and professional. I highly recommend this place. Worth the price.

The owners and staff went out of their way to ensure our comfort. The deck lounge areas are terrific. The location is at the end of town and very quiet. Steps to the beach.

This was our favorite hotel during our 2-week Galapagos trip. The view is amazing. The Inn Keepers are very friendly and accommodating. They offer many conveniences including breakfast, clothes washing area, outdoor shower, luggage storage etc.

The family suite is spacious. The rooms are clean and the receptionist Rebecca is very helpful. The property is right by the beach so it was very easy to have a relaxing day for the kids (and for the adults to observe the animals). Please note that breakfast is not included in the family suite booking. Somehow this is not super clear on the booking page.

Fantastic little hotel right across from the beach. You can walk out barefooted and stroll along the beach and see the marine iguanas, brown pelicans, and other wildlife. The hotel has a very nice rooftop patio to lounge on and a cozy sitting area on the main level. Only a few minutes walk to town on the sandy road. Rebecca was awesome and assisted in transport, passed on info on cancelled flights and provided restaurant recommendations. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Rebecca!

We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed this property. The location is a little outside of the city center, but that is OK because it's like a three minute walk into town. Everything in town is walkable. Getting here from the docks is a short haul if loaded up with luggage, but doable if you only have backpacks No TV kind of surprised us but was fine. I imagine getting service out there is kind of difficult. Beautiful view from the rooftop balcony. The trail to see flamingos or head up to the turtle viewing center is right next to the property. They got us a taxi to head out to the AM ferry on our last day and it showed up right on time. Taxi ride was $5.

Profoundly disappointing
My wife & I travel half of each year, are seasoned travelers, maintain a blog & regularly present our experiences & advice to assist other travelers. We have seldom been as disappointed with our lodging as we were with Drake Inn. A number of small items & some cash went missing from our room & the room of the couple in the adjacent room. We immediately reported the incident to the manager & then subsequently to the owner. The four of us have traveled enough to appreciate that there could be many explanations for the missing items & that travelers may misplace things & mistakenly attribute the loss to the establishment. This is not the case here. All the items were used at the Drake & can only have gone missing during our stay. We had a second concern. During the 5 months we've been travelling through South America (6 weeks in Ecuador), the IVA tax has been included in the total cost quoted for accommodation, airfares, bus tickets, restaurants, retail outlets. Not so at the Drake. Confirmation of our reservation on Hotels.com gives no indication IVA would added to the total amount quoted nor was there any indication from Drake of this until it was time for the second payment, when we were already financially committed to a reservation. We would not recommend travelers stay at Drake Inn.

We are absolutely shocked by this review, since the guest told the staff, before leaving, that they had a pleasant time at the Inn. The staff at the Inn, willingly gave their time and attention to helping this guest and group of friends, by giving advice on which tours to book, helping them book the tours, calling taxis, etc. Rebekka, our afternoon receptionist, even gave them the dining room free of charge, for a Birthday celebration and supplied them with candles and free coffee. It was only after they left, that they contacted us saying that they had missing items, suggesting somehow, that our staff were in some way, responsible. The implication being that, we should somehow compensate them. We cannot compensate them for an unsubstantiated claim without any evidence. Our staff has been with us for over 4 years, and we have never had any security or theft issues. They are our trusted employees, who did everything in their power, to provide this group with extra services to enhance their experience at the Drake Inn. The Drake Inn has been in business for a little over 5 years, and during this time, we have had, once or twice a year, a guest who likes to create problems, where none exist, in order to get discounts or some sort of “compensation” . These guests are almost always, people who travel 3 - 6 months out of the year and are familiar with all the tricks to getting reduced tariffs, rebates or discounts after the stay. They threaten or imply to leave bad reviews and to smear our reputation on their blogs if we do not comply with their “compensation” requests. This is the most common complaint listed by all the Hotel owners , when we have our Hotel Association meetings. This is a common practice it appears, and it can be very rewarding for these guests, as it reduces their costs and overhead, as they travel. All in all, we find it very sad that our hospitality and good will was taken in bad faith and we were thanked with this unwarranted bad review.
