Das schlechteste Ritz, aber immer noch o.k.
Nach Philadelphia kommen fast keine europäischen Touristen und das merkt man. Der Anspruch ist einfach ein anderer. Für ein gutes, bezahlbares Hotel wäre alles o.k., aber für den Preis und den Anspuch eines Ritz? Mittelmäßiger Empfang, Parkservice naja, Lampe im Zimmer defekt, zwei Lampen schief, Feuerlöscher im Gang offen, Badarmaturen locker, Empfang unbesetzt usw... Aus San Francisco kannten wir das 100% anders. Es sind die kleinen Ding die aus einem sehr guten, ein perfektes Hotel mach, in Philadelphia ist das Ritz nur Mittelmaß. Die Lage ist für Philadelphia sehr gut.

Positiv: Sehr zuvorkommender Service mit allem Drum und Dran ! Luxus Pur.Geräumige Zimmer auf gutem technischem Niveau mit guter Luxusausstattung. Wahnsinnig aufregende Einfahrt zum Hotel von Süden kommend der 95 interstate bei Nacht !!! Negativ: Staub im Zimmer und Haarfussel im Bett, das sich nicht gehört für 5* - es gibt defitinitiv schönere Ritz Hotels ! Trotzdem sehr schöne Übernachtung und highlight auf der Durchreise nach New York !

tolles Erlebnis auf Durchreise
Ein Highlight auf der Durchreise Washington -> NewYork. Als 4 köpfige Familie haben wir ein Zimmer mit 2 Doppelbetten, Parken und Frühstück gebucht, für dieses Gesamtpaket war der Deal unschlagbar. Perfekter Service: Angefangen vom Champagner beim Checkin bis zum tollen Frühstück. Einziger Punktabzug für die etwas zu laute Klimaanlage, die sich nachts nicht abstellen ließ.

Room service forgot our breakfast order. It never arrived and then they refused to answer the phone and front desk staff was at first rude and unaccommodating when I asked it to be removed from my bill.

First, I’d like to say that the staff was lovely and the lobby was very beautiful, architecturally speaking. But our room was… not great. Curtains were ripped. We found an old deflated balloon in the closet when getting linens for the pull-out sofa. The linens for said sofa consisted of a pillow and a prison blanket. The refrigerator drawer was broken, so we could not have cold drinks unless we ordered from room service. Most outlets in the common area did not work, even with several “does flipping this switch change it?” experiments. I’ve stayed in nicer Hampton Inns.

Pros: The property is in a good location, the beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. Cons: - Breakfast and dining in is extraordinarily expensive. A smoothie, omelette, and oatmeal cost me close to $80, and paying for breakfast as part of the booking only gives you a credit rather than an included breakfast. - dated furniture and bathrooms. Rooms are def in need of an upgrade. Water pressure in the showers was poor, and the bathroom leaked after every shower. Room felt more like a 3 star. - doormen don't help with bags or doors etc.

Overall, great experience!
Beautiful, stunning hotel, great food from the restaurant to the bar to in room dining! We had a few hiccups with our check in, having to return to the front desk 4 times before our room was ready. Made for a very long travel day. I would encourage management to ensure your new (or newer) front desk employees are ready for service worthy of the Ritz Carlton brand before putting them on duty. Great location and would stay here again!

It’s a Philadelphia staple but…
The Ritz will always be a Philadelphia staple but the rooms are subpar and in need of updates. The rooms are pretty dated. Also, we were initially checked into a room with a broken toilet which forced us to switch rooms. The 2nd room had rips in the curtains and a shower that made loud growling noises. It’s definitely not what you’d expect from a hotel with a luxury status. It’ll always be a Philadelphia staple so I’ll be back to visit the restaurant/bar and spa but I definitely wouldn’t stay at the hotel again. Unless of course they make some upgrades.

The hotel is clean, and leans heavy into its heritage as a name associated with luxury. That doesn't change its location-- it is in the middle of downtown surrounded by abhorrent traffic at peak times, walking outside greets you with the city smell of trash and smog, and if you plan on eating food in the city as of Dec 2023, you'll pay twice as much as you would outside of the city limits. The hotel is a pleasant stay -- the experience, not so much. You could do better by finding a stay outside the city and traveling in and out.

Beautiful hotel with a terrific bar. Staff was excellent and everyone went over and above in service with a smile. The location was perfect as we were there during the holidays. Every detail was attended. There’s nothing we could complain about.
