We had a few issues during our stay that definitely affected our experience. When we first arrived, the bathroom had not been cleaned, so the host had to send another cleaner out to take care of it. There was also hair all over the couch, which we pointed out to the cleaner, and she ended up vacuuming the entire couch. The floors were sticky and had stains.Two of the beds were not properly on the bed frames because the support slats were missing or collapsed, so they couldn’t be used for sleeping. Because of this, one of my friends had to sleep on the couch. Part of the apartment also didn’t have power because one of the breakers was not working. When we tried to switch it back on, it immediately shut back off, so we ended up using flashlights in that bedroom.We did reach out to the host, and in the beginning he was pretty communicative. He acknowledged the issues and said he would give us a partial refund, but that never happened. When discussing the refund, he mentioned Vrbo taking fees from him and seemed hesitant to refund. Since it was New Year’s Eve and finding another place on short notice at a reasonable price wasn’t realistic, we made the best of the situation and stayed.On the positive side, the location was great and the host allowed early check-in. Having a bus stop, grocery store, and bodega right across the street was super convenient. It was also nice having access to a washer and dryer, but I would recommend that the host add a blow dryer to the unit.
