Charged us another $200 when we arrived because of a marketing error on their end where their third party apps to they would not allow us to put more than 2 people in the room for a Family Suite. They would not meet in the middle at all for the situation and were too afraid to speak to the manager. The next day they promised us at breakfast they would have the manager alleviate or speak to us to see what he can do and they never did anything. We had already paid $400 for a room for one night and we ended up having to pay $600. The tv and remote were partially broken and very hard to use.

It was the worse hotel stay we've had in a few years. The room was incredibly small, although that wasn't our biggest problem. I have sciatica and have to use a cane to get around. We were put in the top floor with many stairs and railings that were very loose which might have been dangerous for me as i need to use them. No warning was given about this. There are only 3 parking spaces on the property so we had to park on the street a ways away. Our bathroom had very, very low water pressure so it took forever to complete our showers and to make matters worse the hot water kept fluctuating. Either it was too hot or when trying to balance it with the cold water, then it became all cold. The toilet paper holder was broken and the toilet paper was put in a basket on the floor. There were holes in the bathroom wall and door and were very plastered over very sloppy. And finally, the maid walked in on me just as i got out of the bathroom and was naked, even though the do not disturb sign was on the door outside. Maybe she got a thrill, who knows. So bviously, we wont be staying at this dump ever again.

We were only there one night, but it was very comfortable. I am a senior, so staying on the 3rd floor was a bit of a climb for me. The bed is a bit high, so hard to get on for me. Also, the coffee pot in the room didn’t work. The breakfast was amazing, as was the decor everywhere.

This property was amazing with vintage cottage look and everything was just out of old movies. It had very antique look witha modern twist. The breakfast was amazing. All in all one can never disappointed with their stay here.

Beautiful Hotel, issue with one of the staff
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the inside is breathtaking. The room was big and comfortable and we loved it. Easy walk to the restaurants and shopping. Minor issue with one of the ladies that works there. We were told that we shouldn't use our jacuzzi tub after 8 PM, which was one of the reasons why we picked this resort. And we saw a young family told that if the staff knew they had a child they would have told them that they couldn't stay there. Not really a great start for a nice vacation and the child wasn't even that young. We were definitely a little concerned...and joking, that the lady was going to come knocking on our door for using the jacuzzi after 8, or being too loud.

Architecture is special - some lovely decor, but mixed with some modern or other styles, which is distracting. There are some areas of disrepair, but the property is a lot to have to maintain. It feels very warm and safe and in a great neighborhood, just minutes on foot from the heart of downtown.

Beatiful historic site and relaxing stay.
Very comfortable stay, with a very quiet room and spacious bathroom. Jacuzzi tub was hard to climb in and out of, but stepstool was handy. Bed was comfortable but too high for someone short, but again step stool came in handy. Beautiful location and lots of hidden doors makes it more curiouse to see. Breakfast was good, but not great. It was a small cup of fruit and compote and breakfast burrito. Overall it was a very relaxing stay and beautiful location.

Beware! Deceiving information!! I had booked the Lady Margaret’s room because it says there are 2 king beds and 5 people can sleep there. But at check in time they told me I had booked for 2 people, so I had to pay double to have access to the other Ned.😳 Even if that policy is in fine print, they should not advertise as 5 people occupancy when showing the room in the website.

An Art Opening in Napa
After I had committed to the booking I read the finer print. Over $70 in local taxes and resort fees and only a 180 minute window for check-in. These two things really cheesed me off. The good people of Napa realized that they could collect a ton of money from visitors with exorbitant hotel taxes. "I live here. Hotel taxes won't hurt me!" If that sort of thing burns your buns, stay in Fairfield. In PDX they have a very high tax on airport car rentals. Not a problem for locals. If you take light rail to the downtown Enterprise you cut your rental costs in half! Anyway, I had an event in Napa and my boss told me to stay in town, so I did. I was very cheesed off, re: resort fees, taxes, short check-in window...BUT, I could not stay mad at this little inn. If you are not a cheapskate and a grouch, you will absolutely adore the Cedar Gables. The complimentary breakfast is brought to you. Not the awful continental breakfast you see everywhere with cold cereal dispensers and crusted waffle irons. Plates brought to your table by a quaint gentleman who will not stop telling you all the wonderful places to visit. Even which gallery he has his art in it. A week at the Cedar Gables, in good weather, with bicycles and kayaks would be a good get-away indeed. Check out the Railroad Arts District.

It was late when I checked in. There was no one there to help. But I was able to get in. It’s old and creepy. The toilet clogged, the fridge was loud, and at 8 am on a Saturday someone was riding a tractor. Bed was comfortable.. shower is tiny. It wasn’t for me. But maybe someone else would enjoy.

We stayed in the Lady Margaret Suite. Extremely clean, furnished nicely. There is even a little electric fire place. Very cozy. Beds extremely comfortable. You have to pay extra to use the second king bed room with this suite. It’s a little confusing on here but just confirm with the owner. We missed breakfast but looked like it was hearty! Would stay here again!! Only 2-3 blocks from downtown.
