Atalaya Tower 605 is a well-maintained three-bedroom, two-bath condo at this oceanfront complex located 0.5 miles north of the Garden City Pier. This unit features private oceanfront balcony adjacent to the master bedroom and living area, a fully-equipped kitchen complete with microwave and dishwasher, washer, dryer, and central heat and air conditioning. Four TVs (cable), DVD player, and Wi-Fi are also available. Sleeping accommodations include one king, one double, one queen, one twin, plus a full sofa bed. Amenities include an enclosed swimming pool, hot tub, outdoor swimming pool and elevators. Limit two parking passes per unit - one for on-site parking and one for the overflow parking lot. One car-sized trailer or gas powered golf cart is permitted if parked across the street from complex in the overflow parking lot and will be counted as one of the two parking passes. No electric (battery powered) golf carts permitted. No telephone. No smoking. No pets. Maximum occupancy: 9

Conveniently located close to some of the best area attractions, Garden City Beach is directly south of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula at the mouth of Murrells Inlet. One of the most renowned attractions in Garden City Beach is the Pier at Garden City. Other points of interest include Marlin Quay Marina and restaurants Sara J's Seafood Restaurant, Gulfstream Cafe, and Original Sam's Corner.

Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community considered the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina" and home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile-long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.

Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of the MarshWalk. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems, and the Lowcountry Zoo.

If you're looking for places to shop, The Market Common, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, two Tanger shopping outlets, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, and many more shopping facilities are all within an easy drive from Garden City Beach.

Looking for entertainment and attractions? Take in a show at Pirates Voyage, Medieval Times, Alabama Theater, The Carolina Opry, or Legends in Concert. Then visit SkyWheel Myrtle Beach, Ripley's Aquarium, WonderWorks, Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium, Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center, and The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.

Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and the second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway, with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.

Take a day trip to Charleston to experience shopping, a harbor cruise, a city carriage tour, or a plantation tour. Charleston is only 87 miles from Garden City Beach - approximately two hours. It's a picturesque and exquisitely preserved southern city with antebellum architecture, cobblestone streets, and historical landmarks.

Honestly, I was really disappointed with this unit and our stay. Upon arrival, I noticed that we could not use our master balcony door because a portable AC unit Was hooked up and Styrofoam pieces were taped together with blue painters tape to seal the hole so that the portable AC unit could work. It was a huge eyesore, although I am kind of thankful we had it because we were 2 1/2 days without air conditioner during a heat wave. While unloading all of our belongings, I had to unload a full dishwasher from the previous tenant stay. There were broken lampshades, the TVs did not work and could not figure out which remote we were supposed to use. The towel bar in the guest bath was literally hanging off of the wall, the dryer smelled like urine so much so that I did not want to wash my clothes. And the refrigerator would not stay cold and the icemaker would not work.I did call emergency services when the air wasn’t working and they sent a tech out and all he did was bump it back down to 70, which did nothing, so we woke up the next morning and it was 75 in the condo. So we had to wait another full day for them to fix the air conditioner so that it could be a comfortable temperature. They also did come fix the fridge issues and with the TV, but we were left with the eyesore in the bedroom and couldn’t use our balcony door. Yes, they somewhat fixed the issue, but never offered anything other than “sorry”. We won’t be renting this unit again, unfortunately

The proximity to the beach is fantastic, especially early morning sunrise and sunsets. Maintenance was called and arrived within 15 minutes (fix the air conditioner). Being close to the Garden City Pier was an added benefit. We will be back in 2026.

Health Hazard. Do not rent

This review is not a reflection of the building itself. But rather the company that owns it and their cleaning crew. I've always rented from private owners and have had great experiences. This is the first time from a company and it was horrible. They only care about the money. Even the people who run the main office downstairs said they always have complaints about the company owned condos. This place was a health hazard. The whole masters was filled with mild. Above the shower. Around all the vents in the master bedroom and bathroom. Complete black filth under the seat in the master shower. Even in the corners of the master bedroom away from the vents had mold. Don't say well the moisture. Because as soon as you see it. Which you can tell it's been there a while. You clean it to stop spreading. We couldn't even enjoy the condo. We were worried about health. And allergies were going crazy. We spent alot of time out of the condo because of it. Then the sheets on two of the beds had dark orange stains on them. So we purchased new sheets to use. The exhaust vent in the bathroom. And the door for the furnace both had about a quarter inch of dust on the fins. Have not been dusted in a long time. We pulled the pull out couch out and a crap load of old food and garbage fell all over the floor. So they do not check that after each rental. First night there we set the dishwasher and left. Came back to kitchen floor flooded. Tried again next day and same thing. So couldn't use it. Washer door wouldn't close unless you lifted up on it. Floor wasn't properly swept. Still had a good bit of sand. But I understand sand is hard to control on the beach. They know when check in day is. But they don't have anyone at the location to check you in. You have to drive to another location to get all your check in info and then go back. Only nice thing about the place was the view and balcony. And the staff that work for the building itself. Not garden city reality. If you value your health and want to injoy your vacation and not have allergy problems. Rent some place else. I will never rent from a company again and definitely not garden city. I'll be reporting the health code violations for the mold problems. And contacting garden city about a partial refund. They should be ashamed to be renting a place like that. They should value their customers health more. I havent seen that much mold since I stopped mold removal in basements.

the room was nice and it was clean. the appliances need work. the refrigerator developed a leak. we called but it was the day before we were due to leave. not sure if they ever came and fixed it. we had a little bit of trouble with the washer and dryer. maintenance came within a day and did their best to fix it. I imagine the owners may need to have a more detailed repair or replace them. otherwise it was a nice place and we had fun during our stay.
