Thanks for the review, Dwight! Yes, some of the balconies are "Juliette" balconies. We do have large balconies that are functional on the front of the property. Hopefully next time you can enjoy one of those rooms!

Thanks for the review, Joy! The courtyard is wonderful for both wine and coffee! I am sorry that there were maintenance issues in the bathroom! You are correct, microwaves and refrigerators are only available upon request. The storms that rolled through did some damage and did take down the network. We do hope that you'll be back to visit us again soon!

I'm sorry that you didn't have a better experience, Bryn! The location is definitely perfect for the Civic Center and for almost everything that happens downtown! We will be sure to bring this issue up to the night staff as well and apologize again.

It is nice to mix it up sometimes! Many of our guests have made the switch and now stay exclusively at independent properties! There are some fabulous choices throughout the southeast!

I am sorry that you had a subpar experience, David. Historic properties are certainly not for everyone, and I hate that you have written them off completely! Many of our guests enjoy the quaintness and history behind the property, the proximity to downtown and friendly staff, but I understand if you prefer a more cookie cutter box hotel! Thanks for the great rating! Our location does make it easy to park your car and not have to get in it until time to go home! There are a ton of great restaurants and shops to walk to and you are correct about the ease of getting to the cruise terminal! I’m glad you had a good stay!

Thanks for the review and feedback. I do apologize if the parking charges were not clearly communicated to you! We only charge for parking for those heading to the cruise terminal so it shouldn't have impacted your nightly rate really!

You are correct that the historic nature of the property can make it a little noisier than a new hotel. We think that the experience of being in a 160 year old property makes up for that though! Thanks so much for the feedback! Yes, the bar is currently only open during special events. We are looking at the possibility of opening on a more regular basis as we get deeper into the summer season. We have also been in contact with our service provider for wifi since we have been experiencing spotty coverage in some of the rooms.
