A fair overnight stay!

It's been years since my husband and I stayed at a Motel 6. When we saw all of the great reviews for this one, we decided to try it again. Are we glad we did! Although the rooms and bathrooms are a bit smaller than what we are used to, everything was clean and we had everything we needed. Staff was friendly. A very quiet place. Will stay there again.

I booked for 5 day's Monday-friday. Came in on Monday to check in at 3pm the system was down they told me and I would have to wait until 9 to check in once systems were running, I waited in the lobby for a bit because the Internet can go in and out. About 20 minutes passed and a couple came in to check in there was two people at the front desk one helping me the other helping the couple, I looked over and saw that they handed their bank card to the woman to pay the woman helping me handed me a sheet of paper and asked me to fill out my information like my bank card info, I booked through Expedia and reserved my stay with my card online so I told the woman I don't feel comfortable writing my Bank card information down and that I would be paying with cash instead, because why would I write down my sensitive information and not know who is looking at it when the other couple used their card just fine with the staff helping them? That was a huge red flag for me. I wasn't going to make a scene but prior to booking at the Lakeville location I booked at the Brooklyn center location and had a horrible experience. I stayed there only an hour and a half and had a man deliberately spit on my car and no one checked the cameras or even cared about my safety the police were called and I was told that I had to leave and that I would be issued a refund that I am still waiting on. Friday I was told to leave Lakeville location because I was being followed by a guest and they called police.

I didn't like that there were all kinds of people hanging out in front of the doors and propping the security door open with rocks, and my room was right in front of the security door. I also was harrassed there because I had people banging on my room door and banging loudly. I went there because it was affordable but I could tell there were lots of sketchy people with no respect for other's.

When I initially checked in I was very impressed by the professionalism and how welcome I was made to feel by the manager Susan. She made the check in very smooth and was very accommodating as to the location of my room being that I had a service dog. I initially only rented the room to check out the surroundings before I extended the reservation. Afor completing some errands we return to the room to find cockroaches having a party on the floor in front of the refrigerator. We immediately mitigated the situation by killing as many roaches as we could find and notified the front desk and then spent several hours disinfecting and sanitizing the room. I suffer from asthma so it was an extreme priority to clean the room, as roaches set off asthma attacks the next morning I contacted the motel on site manager. I was professional, polite and discreet out of respect for the business. Leilana said she would get in contact with the GM. Uday.she offered me a different room. I refused because I had already sanitized the room that we were in and I did not have the strength to move yet again the second time in less than 24 hours. In addition to asthma I also suffer from multiple sclerosis. When I spoke with the GM, Uday, I was also professional and polite. The general manager then told me that Leilana should never have offered a room and any guest who complained about roaches or mice, the guest was required to immediately check out.

Can’t beat the price for a non fussy stay. There are no shampoos in the bathrooms, only soap so I wasn’t prepared for that - didn’t bring any of my own.

Customer service was great. Was the room a high end quality no, you have to realize you get ehat you pay for. But the room was clean, I was able to sleep, felt safe. But most importantly was the customer service.

You can tell they're in the process of upgrading. The room was semi updated the beds and pillows were horrible. You could feel and hear the springs. The outside was shabby and hall carpet was filthy. Only main door worked right. Tub wouldn't drain asked to get it fixed. No maintenance. Offered to move us. Boyfriend used his pocket knife. Lol.

The THUNK that wouldn't stop
I was in room 237. The room next to it was the janitor supply closet. Starting at 8am the cleaners prop the door open and then let it THUNK against the frame. This happens 40-50 times at least until about noon when it mostly stops. I brought this up to the front desk, and it kept going that day. The next day they propped the door open to this room and it wasn't an issue (yay), but then the next 2 day they let it THUNK again all morning. The front desk that I spoke with after the first time gave me the impression that they didn't believe me or care. Unfortunately moving rooms wasn't an issue because I'd have had to move to another floor and the room available didn't have a refrigerator or microwave. I'd highly suggest that people NOT stay here, but if you do, absolutely refuse to stay near the supply closet.

The room was very clean and bed comfortable. Took a few minutes for the lady from desk to help us and another guy had been waiting awhile. The door was very hard to open. we didn’t feel comfortable kicking and pushing it open(it was very late as well) so hard so the front desk lady did for us which was helpful but maybe new doors would be helpful also.

I liked that it was close to interstate, shopping, and downtown. The room overall was clean. The beds weren't comfortable and pillows were flat and not comfy. TV channels would constantly blur while watching. Took bathroom light awhile before it would turn on. Deadbolt automatically engages making it hard to close your door when leaving. People constantly proping outside door and drinking out in parking lot. Parking lot filled with trash. Have to pay an additional charge for a fridge and a microwave. Low water pressure in shower.

The lobby and entrance smelled like pot and cigarettes, the hallways were musty. The room had the left over fragrance of BO. It was gross. The mattresses were lumpy and the floors were dirty. Overall, a garbage motel.

The room was clean however the exterior of the building seems to need repair and cleaning . The fact that there’s no elevator was a drawback since I am handicapped and when I made a he reservation I don’t remember being asked .
