Es ist ein typisches gutes Business Hotel. aber das wußten wir und dann kann man auch kein romantisches landestypisches Hotel erwarten. Leider kamen wir zu einem sehr ungünstigem Zeitpunkt in Limerick an. Die lokale Hurling-Mannschaft hatte eine Meisterschaft gewonnen und in der ganzen Stadt und im Hotel wurde ausgiebig gefeiert. Dadurch war es in der Lobby extrem laut und auch im Restaurant. Ich hatte einen Cesar Salat bestellt, der wirklich schlecht gemacht war. Riesengroße alte Salatblätter, wenig Dressing, was auch noch geschmacklos war und das Hähnchen darauf trocken und zäh. Aber es wurde uns nicht berechnet. Das war nett. Das Bett war riesig, Das Fitnessstudio war okay, leider ein bißchen zu warm. Aber die Zimmer waren gut klimatisiert. Ob man Limerick gesehen haben muß, ich weiß nicht. Ich kann es nicht empfehlen. Viele Läden waren geschlossen, viele dicke, ärmliche Menschen auf einem Haufen. Das ist uns extrem aufgefallen im Vergleich zu Killarney, Galway oder Dublin. DAs Museum der Burg war auch nicht gut gemacht. Es mega laut in der Ausstellung und außer den Außenmauern war nichts weiter zu sehen.

Guter Ausgangspunkt um die Stadt zu erkunden
Das Hotel liegt fussläufig zur Innenstadt und bietet im grossen Parkhaus genügend Parkplätze. Zimmer war gross und sauber. Frühstück war exzellent mit einer breiten Auswahl. Sauna war sehr gut, Whirlpool etwas zu kühl. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert.

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Shannon und die Innenstadt von Limerick ist bequem in ca. 5 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet (contemperary Zimmer) und sauber. Das Frühstück erfreut bestimmt jeden Iren und Briten, aber auch Liebhaber eines kontinentalen Frühstücks werden sehr gut bedient - der porridge ist super lecker! Die Bar ist gut bestückt und das Abendessen im Restaurant lecker. Als einzigen Wehmutstropfen muss ich leider bemerken, dass am Samstagabend auch im Restaurant Rugby lief - und auf allen Fernsehern im Barbereich. Wen das nervt, der sollte sich für samstags ein Restaurant ohne Fernsehmöglichkeit aussuchen. Denn Rugby scheint noch populärer als Fußball zu sein. Das Team des Hotel ist sehr nett und kompetent. Man kann sein Auto in der angeschlossenen Tiefgarage kostenvergünstigt parken. Wir können das Hotel absolut weiterempfehlen. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Nice Limerick Hotel at the Shannon
The Strand Hotel in general is a wonderful place, very elegant and comfortable. We only booked breakfst which was very good overall, we didn't miss anything there. We ordered room service once, which didn't take very long and the food was amazing. I expect that everything on the menu is of high standard from what we've seen. The room itself didn't have the best view, but the room itself was very nice, quiet, tasteful and cozy. Some dusty parts, but not so much to make a big fuss about it. Some miniscule negative details were the toilet paper, which is very very thin, almost like you can look right through it and no toilet brush. The gynasium was mediocre, very little room to move around, a broken Smith Machine, worn down material. Big room for improvement in a 4 star hotel. The parking situation was a little frustrating on Saturday evening. We came back from the Convention we were visiting and all the parking spaces at the hotel (7,50€ a day) were gone. We drove around for about 15 minutes to finally use a space that wasn't supposed to be a parking spot in the first place, we did, because others used that spaces too. Seems like some people that are going out in the city are using the place for parking as well. Highly recommend booking a room with view on the river, we would definately do the next time.

excellent hotel with large, comfortable and spotless rooms, perfect for a traveling family price reduction for underground parking location right at the shore of Shannon River beautiful views (depending on the room) over the river and St. Johns's Castle Unfortunately, the dinner deal that was offered was not actually available (restaurant closed that evening). We had to wait for half an hour for a waiter to get our order - quite a long time with a toddler! However, food and drinks were definitely worth the wait. We recommend to try some fresh seafood.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit top Service. Besonders die Executive Lounge durchgehend 24/24 offen mit Kaffee /Kuchen, Obst, Joghurts, Wasser und Softdrinks, Knabbereien und jeden Tag zwischen 18-19 h gibt es verschiedene Häppchen vom Restaurant zubereitet. Das Hotel liegt am Fluss Shannon und nur eine Brücke trennt das Hotel vom Stadtzentrum. Das Hotelrestaurant bietet sogar Tische für Frühbucher inklusive eine ganze Weinflasche. Die Essensqualität ist gehoben. Die Exekutivezimmer haben Dusche und Badewanne und tolle Aussicht auf Stadt, Fluss und Landschaft. Das einzige Hotel in Limerick mit 6 deutschen Sendern wie ARD, zdf, 3Sat, arte.... Das Personal handelt rasch, wenn man etwas braucht, was nicht typisch irisch ist. Am Gang der Executivezimmer befindet sich ein Lift, der direkt zum kostenlosen Spa führt mit Hallenbad, Sauna, Dampfbad, 2 Jacuzzis.... Bestes Hotel im Westen Irlands

The hotel was lovely. It was in walking distance to the bus and train station and all the attractions in Limerick. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We worked with Siobhan, who helped us check in, get breakfast vouchers, and called us a cab in the morning. She was great! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Comfy beds. Delicious breakfast with lots of food choices! Thank you!

A perfect stay in every way. From the moment we entered the hotel we were greeted like returning regulars. Clodagh and Siobhan ensured our welcome was warm, engaging, personal and professional. Throughout our stay no question remained unanswered. No-thing was too much trouble. The whole hotel staff were exceptional. Our room was an Executive King and it was spacious, clean, well presented and the bed was so comfortable and so large that reception should issue a map in the event of getting lost in the massive duvet! The room is well equipped coming with tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a Krupps coffee pod machine, a chiller, hairdryer and bathrobes. The bathroom has a shower cubicle and a bath. The Buffet Breakfast has an amazing range and choice. Whether you want a full Irish or continental, cereal, fruit, cooked meats, cheeses, pancakes, muffins, pastries everything is there and fresh. The list of products is endless. The hotel bar was a great place to start the evening with a great range of beers, ales and stout. One small gripe buffet breakfast means the food sitting in serving trays and can be a little cool in temperature. This was our experience the first morning. A tepid cooked breakfast isn’t the best way to start the day! A small gripe and didn't impact our overall enjoyment of our stay at this perfectly situated hotel.

The hotel was wonderful. Siobhan (from the front desk) was AMAZING! She was so helpful with suggesting places to see and things to do. She ensured that we had coupons for breakfast if we wanted them and she helped us get discounts for attractions in the area! The hotel also acted quickly to correct a problem with the temperature in our room.

Slightly over priced for what it was. We walked out of the hotel and had someone shooting up on the steps at the front door. Staff were lovely.
