This was my fourth, but certainly my last, stay at Southpoint. Unfortunately, the overall experience was far below expectations. At check‑in I specifically registered for daily room cleaning, yet after the first night the room had not been serviced at all. When I contacted reception in the evening, I was assured that housekeeping would come immediately. Instead, it took an hour just to receive fresh towels, and still no cleaning was done. Only after insisting—because the mistake was clearly on the hotel’s side—was the room finally made up. Throughout the entire interaction, there was no apology and no sign of friendliness.
Although the room was cleaned on the following days, the quality was noticeably poor. Cleanliness was superficial, and amenities were not consistently refilled. Overall, housekeeping standards were disappointing.
On the third day, the elevator made an emergency stop, and I was stuck for roughly 20 minutes until staff managed to open the doors. While the incident itself didn’t alarm me, I found it concerning that the hotel offered no apology, explanation, or any acknowledgment afterward.
The overall lack of service orientation was confirmed during checkout, where the process was quick but the staff member was noticeably unfriendly.
In summary, service quality and guest care have declined significantly, and I can no longer recommend this hotel.
