Large, clean room; totally satisfactory for our one nights stay in La Crosse. Not walkable to the downtown-you must drive to the area where the restaurants and bars are.

Had to switch rooms for stains and hairs in sheets. Second room had stains also. Have they heard of bleach? When we talked to front desk, no adjustment and half hearted sorry. We did get another room but it also had cleaning issues. The breakfast and facilities seemed nice other wise.

This hotel is well maintained and beautiful. The rooms are laid out so well and inviting. A great find during a day when I needed to stay close to the hospital and did not want to travel far due to a snowstorm. Would recommend to anyone. Really impressed.

A truly exceptional hotel that is close to both La Crosse major medical facilities. The hotel is beautiful with such nice rooms. It is so quiet even as close as it is to a busy street. Ample breakfast with beverage options through the day. The Bath & Body Works products in the bathrooms are a nice touch.

Staff was very courteous when I arrived, checking in was a breeze. Rooms were clean and spacious, even had 10-12 foot ceilings. Pool area was nice, but the water was chilly getting in. Only downside no hot tub. Breakfast was even delicious with biscuits and sausage gravy. Definitely would stay again

We have stayed at the Gundersen a couple times while visiting our son at UWL. We love the location as it's close to downtown and not far from the entrance/exit over the river. It's clean with large rooms for an affordable price. The fountain drinks available are a nice touch, along with a full breakfast in the morning. During our recent stay I went for a morning walk around the neighborhood and ended up by the river. Although we didn't bring our dog, we saw other guests with their pets. Will definitely stay again!

Nice, convenient place to stay
Rather noisy, loud coughing by the person in next room that you could clearly hear, footsteps above us, a pounding noise (in the pipes) in the bathroom. We stayed 2 nights and the room was not serviced after the first night. There was no notification that that was standard and we had to request additional towels, etc. Breakfast was good, nice variety and tasted good.

Clean and free pets
This place was well worth getting off the highway for. It was clean comfortable and dogs were free. I pass through here several times a year and this will be my new place to stop.
