„THE COUNTRY HOUSE IS SUPERB WITH SO MUCH CHARACTER AND GORGEOUS GARDENS. THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND THE ROOM GOOD. IT WAS A VERY PLEASANT STAY. ONLY NEGATIVE IS THAT WE COULD NOT SIT AT AN EMPTY TABLE LOOKING AT THE VIEW FOR BREAKFAST, BECAUSE THE STAFF HAD ALREADY LAID THE TABLE FOR LUNCH. „Lovely coaching inn in beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Welcome very friendly as was service throughout stay. Room not huge but adequate and very comfortable bed with good supply of linen. Whole hotel was kept well heated. Beautifully cooked dinner and breakfast. Would definitely stay again though not sure if menu changed much.“

„The restaurant was excellent although the service was slow as there was no Maitre d' at the door to welcome and we had to wait quite a few minutes to be seated. However, the waiter cleared a table for us efficiently upon request. The setting was perfect for our outdoor weekend: rapidly flowing river outside our window and lovely views into the valley. The room was comfortable and spacious fitting myself, my husband and grown son adequately.“

„Heather the manager was very friendly and welcoming. We got our drinks at the bar and confirmed our stay and we had a lovely evening meal. The room was spacious and comfortable with a shower and bath.It was very quiet.Breakfast in the morning was great and heather made us feel so at home. Definitely would recommend a stay.“

„For a first trip by myself definitely felt safe and comfortable. Staff were amazing, so friendly there was always a good atmosphere. Spacious and clean room and bathroom. No parking but two carparks in walking distance can top up on a morning. Option to come and go from side gate so can avoid being in the way when pub is busy. Breakfast 10/10 Steak and Ale Pie 10/10“

"Mitten im Ort gelegen, aber dennoch ruhig. Mit dem kostenlosen Parkplatz hinter dem Hotel hat es auch jeden Abend geklappt, kann aber schon voll werden. Es gibt aber wohl auch noch einen zweiten Parkplatz, den wir aber nicht gebraucht haben. Meiner Frau hat der Pool super gefallen, gepflegt, sauber und ansprechend gestaltet. Der Whirlpool hat uns beiden sehr gut gefallen. Frühstück war sehr gut, das Abendessen im Hotel hatten wir nur einmal genossen. War jetzt nicht schlecht, aber irgendwie fehlte der Pfiff, da sind wir lieber im Ort Essen gegangen und im Zweifelsfalle geht Fish & Chips halt immer. Sehr schönes Zimmer mit uriger Einrichtung, fehlt eigentlich nur noch Sherlock Holmes der einmal vorbeischaut. Wenn es draußen warm wird, dann kann es auch im Zimmer super warm/heiß werden. Dadurch das wir ein Zimmer mit Balkon hatten, konnten wir aber gut durchlüften und so das Zimmer zum Schlafen auf erträgliche Temperaturen bekommen."
