„We have a family stay during a trip to Nikko.
The Hotel is far, and the road have many hard curves, but it was easy to find and worth the cost.
The room is big enought to 4 people, warm, comfortable beds and the breakfast was very good and complete.
We rented a car, and the parking is at the road in front of the hotel, and free. “

„This is an exceptional ryokan. Only three rooms but very large rooms with a sunroom with "western style" chairs for those of us who aren't as limber as we used to be. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Quiet location with excellent views of the mountains. The food here is sensational and comes with English explanations of the dishes. They are very particular in adhering to any requests guests may have with regard to what they can and can't eat. The dining room has "western style" seating ...

„Very traditional Japanese style inn. If you are looking for stainless steel, soulless, and sterilized, this is not the place for you. This place is old, with all of the patina that comes with that. The breakfast is an incredible traditional country food buffet with local highlights. The reception was warm and kind- and the tatami rooms were very spacious. Exactly the kind of authentic culture we wanted.“

„Takanoya is a wonderful traditional ryukan style onsen. I highly recommend it. The rooms are clean and well kept, the onsen is hot and private, and the proprietor is thoughtful and generous.“

„Had an awesome stay, right up in the mountains. Staff were great and even shuttled us to the train station and back whenever we needed it. Loved and it would definitely stay again. “

„The greatest retreat from the hectic streets of Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. After all those cities we came to this hotel in Minakami and never wanted to leave.
We had the best time here. The people working at this hotel were always attentive and ready to help us with more than we could ask for and we hope to be back soon.“

„I have truly enjoyed my time at this hotel because it also had personal Onsens and public Onsens on site. I really enjoyed my Ryukan traditional Japanese room with a large amount of great amenities and I want to come to this place every time I come to Japan though I must let you know if you’re staying in Tokyo it takes about almost 3 hours outside of Tokyo, which you can catch the trains to get to. „We had such a wonderful time at MICASA! We stayed in one of the private onsen rooms, and it was a gorgeous mid-trip treat! The food was phenomenal— and so filling! — and we had a lovely time exploring the surrounding area in the snow!“

"First, the positive: The room was renovated! The rest of the hotel is in an absolutely desolate state. Old, worn, and not at all like the pictures on Hotels.com. The onsen, and especially the sauna, are on the verge of collapse. Absolutely unacceptable. The foreign staff, from Nepal or Pakistan, are unfriendly and arrogant—there's no Japanese atmosphere at all. I've been traveling to Japan for onsen 5-7 times a year for over 12 years. But this hotel is a disgrace."
"The first thing to say is that this hotel is a bit of a walk from the Tobu-Nikko station and probably is better suited to people arriving by car.
The second thing to say is that they have a bit of an annoying guest registration where you have to enter a lot of information on a tablet computer, even if you entered it already while booking.
But what was so great here was that the room felt really luxurious, the own little onsen bathtub was suprisingly popular with us and we really loved it.
The stay here was actually my wife's favorite during our trip. "
"We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ootaki. It is Like 15 Minutes by feet from the Station and a Konbini is 8 minutes away. You can walk to many bridges with beatiful views. The Room was clean an very big. We enjoyed the private Onsen every evening (They got 2). Public Onsen ist also accessible for free, but since we got Tattoos we only used the private ones. Highly Recommend this one! "
Die hatten was.
