The perfect location walkable to the beach and all eateries. The building was secure and the staff were very friendly. Being able to have in-unit laundry and easy parking were absolute pluses for a longer stay! Enjoy your coffee on the balcony in the morning while the city wakes up!

Mediocre property, made worse by non existent customer service

This was by far the worst VRBO experience I’ve ever had. I booked a six-night stay but left after the 1st night due to the terrible condition of the property. I contacted the owner via email to share my concerns, but I never received a response—not even an acknowledgment.The photos are misleading. The property has popcorn ceilings, worn-out floors, visible stains, and a shower that is so old, you feel like you're in a campground shower (Thongs only). The bathroom had rust stains around the baseboards, and the cabinetry has a coat of white paint on the outside but old, brown wood inside. I didn’t feel comfortable using the utensils or glassware because of how unclean it felt.After one night, I couldn’t bear to stay any longer and moved to a hotel. I emailed the owner to let them know I had vacated and explained that the property wasn’t up to standard. I didn’t ask for a refund; I simply wanted to provide feedback. When I didn’t get a response, I followed up a few days later with a 2nd email—still nothing. No apology, no inquiry about what went wrong, no request for feedback—just silence.As someone who owns a VRBO property in Waikiki and employs a professional property manager, I find this level of neglect unacceptable. Good customer service isn’t dependent on how luxurious or budget-friendly a property is—it’s a basic expectation.Save yourself the trouble. Don’t book this property—not just because it’s in poor condition, but because the owner clearly doesn't care.

Unit needs work good location

This particular unit has little to no sun because of large buildings surrounding it. No grab bars in bath tub. Toilet very low so not good for older renters. 95% who live here are older and old. Noisy because of street traffic and early morning patio/pool cleaning. Kitchen small wares need replacing.

Loved staying here, since its very walkable. Love the parking garage and washer dryer in unit is a plus. Id definitely stay here again. The only thing that bothered us was the carpet, they definitely need a cleaning. The AC was very good and worked well but it was intermittent one evening and the building mgmt fixed it the following morning. Also I personally never saw a roach in our unit (for those who read the other reviews.)

Pros: Good location with easy access to beach, shopping & restaurants. Apt was well stocked with towels, kitchen, beach towels, hair dryer, etc. Good building security. Cons: Carpet was stained and dirty, apt had not been cleaned from previous tenant so we had to wait 2 hrs for housekeeping to clean it before we could check in. No contact info given in reservation so had to have apt security contact apt people in order to get housekeeping done so we could check in.

Fantastic Stay

We had an absolutely fantastic 9 day stay in April this apartment, with no issues. To address some previous reviews: The apartment was extremely clean, and well stocked with towels and sheets, clear instructions for everything and great, fast communication from the host. - Over our 9 days, we did not once see any roaches. - There were no noise issues, with residents or dogs - The residents were all friendly, there lots of guests too. - The building is part of the resort area, where short-term stays are permitted, the hotel reception also said around 50% of the building is short-term stays. - Reception staff were fantastic and also made the stay great. - Parking is easy and free, with plenty of space for all sizes of cars. Just for context, all hotels, even the small, not great ones, charge $40-60 per day for parking and is more often than not valet. - The sofa was new and extremely comfortable. It is not the grey one in the photos that people have mentioned, but a new, dark brown leather sofa which folds down into a bed. Having stayed in many different apartments and hotels in Waikiki over the years, this is a fantastic, modern, brilliantly located apartment and we will definitely stay there again in the future.

Forgot about Hawaii roaches til this trip!

I've stayed in the Four Paddle before -- location is great, walking distance to the fun stuff in Waikiki but far enough that it isn't crazy around the building and access to bus lines is convenient. Also picked this building again because I knew the parking situation was good. Lots of sheets and towels provided. The room always felt kind of humid and sticky, even with the AC on, so I ended up going through most of them in a week. They provide beach chairs that look new but I didn't use them. Washer and dryer work well. Woman across the hall from this unit has a small dog that barks constantly when left alone. At one point I saw a note on her door that read, "Your dog is at it again." Dog is friendly if you see it but I guess has separation anxiety. I feel bad giving only 3 stars for cleanliness because I know roaches are impossible to deal with, even in an otherwise clean unit. The ones I saw were tiny, usually dead or dying, and probably coming another unit on the same floor. Never saw any in the cabinets or on cutlery or anything like that, but it was still gross to find 3 - 4 new roaches every morning on the kitchen floor. I washed whatever I wanted to use before using and let everything dry in the sealed dishwasher, and put all my food in the fridge; did not bother using any of the kitchen appliances since I didn't want to clean everything. I put out a roach trap and didn't find any more on the floor every day.

The unit was clean, but older and worn. However, the location, with parking, was excellent! When we arrived on Saturday, the electronic fob for entering the building and parking did not work and we had to wait until Monday to get it fixed. However, the security people were very accommodating in letting us in and opening the parking gate as needed. Also, the covered parking space was initially difficult to find and it's a tight space. We used the alternate uncovered spot and it was fine.

Just perfect for us!

Thank you for allowing us to stay at the Four Paddles. The location was great and everything in the condo was functional. As said in other reviews, we agree the futon needs replacing as you can actually feel the boards of the frame - ouch! But that aside, the shower was great with instant hot water, the bed super comfy. The towels and sheets were nice and the AC was cold. We used the grills on the 5th floor for our Christmas dinner and everything was wonderful. A dedicated parking spot in Waikiki? Yes please! And the washer was a bonus. I’d love to stay here again in the future. Thank you so much! Mahalo!

My husband and I enjoyed the condo because it was spacious & lots of storage. Laundry inside condo is always good in Hawaii. The building is older but that didn’t bother us. Perfect Location

The condo is perfectly located in a nice neighborhood in Waikiki (behind the Ritz). We were able to walk to the beach, stores, and restaurants in less than 10 mins. There was a mini market across the building which helped tremendously when we needed something. The residents and security guards were very friendly. Brent also went above and beyond when we needed something. Great price for the location and the parking was a plus since parking in Waikiki can be a bit stressful.

Needs remodelling and cleaning

Listing is too kind; dirty, soft greasy paint finish on terribly small cupboards. Dirty carpets, chipped tiles, scraps used on floor edges, kitchen countertop does not match (2 different stone pieces used) curtains can’t be opened in bedroom, airflow poor (no breeze or movement due to no fans). We had to buy cleaning products to clean a the place was quite dirty with grease and crumbs on countertop. In-sufficient kitchen items such as no platters for meat or cheeses etc, tongs are broken, only 1 wine glass (found the other broken under the oven). Ended up buying tea towels (which were too good to leave), dish cloths, BBQ tools and a plastic wine glass which we left at condo. Toilet runs, shower head is the size of a dinner plate and installed on the wrong angle. The owner needs to remodel and comply with the 30 day minimum which the area is zoned as. The neighbours were lovely but were honest with us about the fact that a 12 night stay is illegal. I checked this and it appears they may be correct. We felt embarrassed when we were leaving and saw a neighbour who was onto the illegal stay pointing us out to another neighbour. There are more faults but by now I think I have made my point.

Great stay!

The pictures are a little generous like others have said but overall our stay was comfortable, safe and convenient! The place is a little outdated and couch could be better but there's ac, kitchen is stocked, linens stocked, laundry in unit, free parking spot, security, walking distance to everything, and host was very responsive and prompt. Would stay here again!
